Trailer Axle Option For M416 Trailer With & Without Electric Brakes

I am trying to get a new axle for me M416 trailer. Want to run a simple 5 lug rim. Not sure if I want to run electric brakes or not. What axles would work best if I run with or without electric brakes. Manual says the current axle is 58.75 inchs

The only option for an axle for your M416 trailer is what is called an axle-less system, as there aren't axles in that particular length. You can get these with either idler hubs (for without electric brakes) or hub and drums if you choose to use electric brakes. They are available in either a straight spindle or with a 4 inch lift if you want to add some extra height:
- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 2,000 lbs # ASR2000S02
- Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - 2,000 lbs # ASR2KHDS04
The Timbren Axle-Less system is an upgrade relative to a traditional through-axle. They give you a better ride because the Timbrens have progressive springs built in which absorbs shock, and aren't connected by an axle beam, so they work independently; that means if there is a bump on one side of the road it won't rattle your entire trailer.
Then for the hub, the correct fit will depend on if you want electric brakes or not; both the Timbren systems come with a brake flange if you want to use brakes, but you don't have to. Here are the options:
- Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 84545UC1-EZ
or
- Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3-EZ
Then for brakes you would need the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA and Mounting Hardware # BRKH10B.
