Works exactly as advertised and fits nicely in the bag that they sent. The bag itself isn't of highest quality, but the actual stuff I ordered (pads, tie straps, and ropes/hooks) is excellent! 910860

Excellent canoe carrier. Exactly as advertised. Works like a charm for my 16 ft canoe on top of my Prius! 818543

Great product, same as the one I used hundreds of times, that got accidentally left in the trunk when I sold an old car. I've carried different canoes, on different car tops, for distances of 5 to 1,200 miles without any problems. A quick, rough count of 6,000 miles. I like this style because: A. there are no straps running through the cabin. B. The pool noodles scratch the roof when they slide and blow away when they break. C. I've even used them on a SUV that had a roof rack to keep my nice wooden gunnels from getting dented or scratched. D. I can run shuttle again. 774018

  • Recommended Canoe Carrier for 2012 Subaru Outback with Factory Crossbars
For the factory crossbars on your 2012 Subaru Outback, I would recommend the Malone Foam Block Rooftop Canoe Carrier, part # MPG156. The foam blocks used to support the canoe can be mounted to the crossbars, or can be placed directly on the roof surface. The kit includes the foam blocks, tie down straps and the bow and stern lines used to secure the canoe to the front and rear of the vehicle. If you decide to use the foam blocks directly on the vehicle roof, be sure the blocks and the...

  • How to Carry a Canoe on the Naked Roof of a 2013 Toyota Prius V
The Yakima foam blocks Y04056 could be a good option for a naked roof 2013 Toyota Prius V. But I recommend the Malone foam blocks # MPG156 since they are less expensive and because Yakima has stopped making the foam blocks. To attach it to a vehicle with a naked roof you would first make sure the bottoms of the pads and the roof are clean. Then you would set the canoe down next to the vehicle so that it over hangs the front and rear of the roof evenly. Next you will place the blocks...

  • Temporary Solution for Transporting Canoe on Toyota Prius with Naked Roof
As a temporary solution a foam block style carrier is a really good option to transport a single canoe on top of your friend's 2014 Toyota Prius that isn't already equipped with a roof rack. For this I specifically recommend the Malone Canoe Carrier # MPG156, which includes the foam blocks themselves that will attach to the gunwale on the canoe and sit right on the Prius' naked roof, along with all the necessary tie-down straps. Just be sure to clean your buddy's roof before mounting the...

  • How to Carry a Canoe on a 2013 Toyota Prius with a Bare Roof
If your Prius has a bare roof then the only option for carrying a canoe would be a foam block carrier like # MPG156. Otherwise you would have to install a roof rack. We have different roof rack fits for the different 2013 Prius models: Prius, Prius c, Prius plug-in, and Prius V. I want to make the right recommendation so if you are interested in a roof rack please let me know the specific model.

  • Recommended Reasonably-Priced Canoe Carrier for 2012 Honda Odyssey w/ Bare Roof
The Malone canoe carrier you've looked at, part # MPG156 would be an excellent choice that's reasonably priced. The kit contains 4 foam blocks that slip over the gunwales of the canoe and protect the roof. Two straps for securing the canoe to the roof (run straps through car doors) and tie downs for the canoe's bow and stern are also included. You might also be interested in anchor straps like # RRRBAS. You'd close the straps in the vehicle hood and rear hatch to provide an attachment...

  • Roof Rack and Carrier to Transport 110-lb Canoe on 2014 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab
If you have a slide-in truck bed camper on your 2013 Ford F-150 you'll need to use a combination of rooftop canoe carrier and front-mounted hitch and load support to hold your 110-lb 15-foot canoe. The good news is that you do not have to install a roof rack on the truck cab, just a handy, low-cost and lightweight foam block canoe carrier like # MPG156 from Malone. The foam carrier will support one end of the canoe while the front-mounted hitch and load support will support the other...

  • Recommended Roof Rack for 2016 Ford F-250 Crew Cab
For your 2016 Ford F-250 Crew Cab, the Rhino-Rack RS 2500 Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRRS487B is my recommendation. This is a confirmed fit for your truck with customized clamps to fit your precise vehicle. These are not adjustable for height but will protect your truck cab and support the weight of the canoe as needed. The Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System w/ 2 Vortex Aero Crossbars - Track Mount - Silver - 54" Long # Y02-480 will not fit on your truck. Another...

  • Roof Canoe Carrier System for Use with Hitch Load Support on 2018 Hyundai Ioniq
All roof racks currently made for your 2018 Hyundai Ioniq, shown on the linked page, consist of two crossbars and the related foot assemblies. But since you have a hitch support like the Malone Axis # MPG907 to hold one end of your canoe I do have a good solution for you that will cost much less. We offer canoe carriers that do not require any roof rack crossbar. These cost-effective carriers include items like the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG156. This kit includes 4...

  • Using Darby Extend-A-Truck # DTA944 Load Extender to Carry Canoe on 2013 Chevy Silverado
The Darby # DTA944 Darby Extend-A-Truck Hitch Mounted Load Extender and the # DTA968 Turbo-Rack would be a good choice for you for transporting your canoe. Canoes typically weigh less than 100 lbs, and the roof portion of the truck would only be bearing 1/2 the weight of the canoe. Your roof should handle it with no problem whatsoever. I'd also recommend a canoe carrier kit, like part # MPG156. The kit contains foam blocks that will fit around the crossbars to protect the canoe from damage....

  • Load Assist for Canoe Onto 2012 Subaru Outback
Yakima offers the LongArm, part # Y01149-1150. It's a load extender that fits into a trailer hitch receiver. It can be used at the level of a truck bed or the roof. If your factory bars are not round or square, you can use foam pads like the Malone Canoe Carrier # MPG156 to protect your crossbars and help keep your canoe secure. These pads fit naked roofs, round crossbars, square crossbars, aero or elliptical crossbars, and most factory crossbars. This part number comes with a tie-down...

  • Can a Canoe be Carried on a Rhino-Rack Roof Basket on a 2012 Toyota 4Runner
You could carry a canoe on the Rhino-Rack basket # RMCB02 but I recommend adapting some foam blocks # MPG156 to protect the canoe and the basket. Also you will need to make sure that the combined weight of the canoe and the basket does not exceed the roof rack capacity or the vehicle roof weight carrying capacity, which ever is lower. Consult the vehicle owners manual and/or Toyota for the roof capacity on your 2012 Toyota 4Runner. Ideally, though, you would remove the basket and put...

  • Recommendation for TracRac Ladder Rack With Extension Carrying a Canoe Having Cab Contact
The T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Over-the-Cab Extension # TH37002XT-EX has a height above the bed rails of 27-1/4 inches. There is not a height adjustment available for the TracRac systems. Since you are having issues with your canoe hitting the cab, it sounds like you have too much weight to the front of the system or there is too much of a curve in the canoe, so you may want to start by adjusting the canoe's ride position so the weight is better supported. If you still have...

  • How to Attach Vehicle Anchor Straps on a 2011 Kia Soul to Secure a Canoe
The vehicle anchor straps can be mounted using some existing locations under the hood of your 2011 Kia Soul or you could use your own hardware. This design has a large tube that cannot be pulled out once the hood or hatch is closed. You can then use a tie down kit like # TH855XT. I have included a link to a video of # TH530 for you to view. • Roof Rack Recommendation For 2010 Ford Van To Carry Canoes.
I do not have an 80-inch crossbar that will work with your Ford Van but I do have a solution that will work for you. I recommend the Inno Roof Rack for your 2010 Ford. You would need the Feet, part # INSD and also the Inno Crossbars, part # IN436L. These square crossbars are 79 inches long and measure 7/8 x 1-1/4 inches. These crossbars have a 220-lb weight capacity. For carrying the canoes I recommend using the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam Block Style - 6" Long # MPG156....

One of the simplest and cost effective canoe carriers is the Malone foam blocks, # MPG156. For a roller, you could possibly use the Rhino-Rack model, # RR1375. • Carrying Canoe Level on 2016 Chevy Silverado with Leer 180 Camper Shell with Rear Incline
It would actually be better to have the canoe either all on the camper shell or all on the cab of the truck. When a load is split between the 2 it could result in problems because the truck bed can move some independently from the cab. The artificial rain gutters can be installed anywhere that you are willing to drill into. I do not recommend it on a 2016 Chevy Silverado because who wants to drill holes in the cab of a new truck! What you could do is use one Darby Turbo-Rack # DTA968...

The four rack feet bolt permanently to your roof using included hardware. I recommend using a silicone sealant like # LT37464 during the installation to prevent any water from entering the camper. • Canoe Carrier Recommendation for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Roof Rack
To carry a canoe on your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I recommend a simple carrier like the Malone foam blocks, # MPG156. The blocks fit on your crossbars and the canoe rests upside down in the grooves in each block. Use the included strap and rope to tie down the bow and stern. If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch on the vehicle, I recommend adding a Goal Post, # TH997, which will help with stability and weight carrying of the canoe. Some additional foam blocks, like # SR5528 may be needed.

Rhino Rack offers an inexpensive yet strong rack system that consists of the # RRVA137B-2 crossbars, # RRRLKVA legs, and the # DK227 vehicle-specific clamp kit.
