Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Malone six-inch long foam blocks for canoes. It's for a quantity of two blocks. Now this will include the two, six foot long foam blocks shown here. And these foam blocks will let you transport a canoe on most roof rack crossbars or naked roofs.
The two blocks are suggested to safely transport a canoe. And these foam blocks are a closed cell foam block, which are very durable and it holds your canoe steady.The underside, right down here you can see, is a nonskid underside, keeps the block in place, protects your roof. And these blocks will work with, or without rooftop crossbars. Without crossbars, what you'll do is just attach right in here the edge of the canoe, and then just lay it down onto your naked roof and secure it with tie-down straps. Now, the tie-down straps are not included.
We do sell them separately.Now, if your vehicle does have crossbars, does have this universal cut-out, you can see right here. That will fit round square, arrow, elliptical, and most factory crossbars. Same way you can put this through the crossbar and then put your canoe on top of that and tie it down. These parts are made in the USA. Few specs, again, it's for a carrying capacity of one canoe.
Overall dimensions on each cube, the width of it is right at six inches, by 4-3/4 inches. And the overall height is right at four inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the Malone six-inch long foam blocks for canoes, for a quantity of two..

Work for Kayak support
Very much the product that I expected. I am reserving the "excellent" rating because the blocks have a tendency to roll off the gunnels if there is any lateral motion while mounting, but it is easy enough to reorient them.
Blocks arrived quickly. Roof side of the block has a thin coating of clear stretchable ‘polymer’. Won’t be using them soon. I’ve always used 4 blocks per canoe to keep the canoe from rocking during transit and scratching the car roof (no roof rack). So, 2 packages are needed per canoe.
They work well for what you're paying, however expect to replace them if they are consistently (longer than a 6 months) installed and exposed to weather.
