Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Gen-Y Hitch black channel mount trailer coupler. This heavy-duty coupler is gonna let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle, giving you a connection point for your 2 5/16-inch hitch ball. This is gonna be great for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. This is made here in the USA of a heavy-duty steel construction.
This is going to give you a weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. The zinc primer and powder coat finish is going to do a great job of resisting corrosion. And this is going to mount into a 3-inch wide channel bracket. And the adjustable channel mount's going to let you change the coupler's height depending on the application. Channel bracket, the channel bracket and the mounting hardware, of course, is sold separately from this.
And I wanna talk real quick about this snatch latch, the snap latch rather, mechanism. This is going to ensure a simple and secure hookup and disconnect. So what I'm gonna do here is make sure I'm in frame. I'm gonna go ahead and open up our snap latch by just twisting it like that. And then I've got a 2 5/16-inch hitch ball.
So I'm just going to put that into place. So you just basically drop the coupler over the ball. (hitch ball clanking) As you can see, that locks into place so it's very secure. And it's gonna stay that way until you twist this again. And then that's going to allow you to uncouple from the ball.
So very simple, very easy operation. And the mounting holes here are 5/8 of an inch. And I went ahead and measured them before our time together. And the distance between those mounting holes on center is 2-inches. Center to center. And then I went ahead and took some other dimensions here of the coupler itself. And so just to give you an idea of the size. Measuring the overall length from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 8 1/8-inches long. And then the width taking into consideration are our snap latch as well. We are sitting right at about 5 1/2-inches wide. And again, this is going to work with your 3-inch wide channel bracket.
