Question:
Will this work with a canoe? You sell a Malone canoe mountain that is more expensive...any reason not to use this?

No, the LoadStop Brackets for Yakima Round Crossbars # Y05000 can not be used to carry a canoe, unfortunately. These have had issues with the load stops actually folding over while transporting canoes, causing the canoes to slip out.
I'd instead recommend using the Malone Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG156 instead which is designed to carry canoes and are actually much cheaper.
