I have an existing factory installed roof rack on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and would like to know what system is needed for a 14 foot canoe.

Expert Reply:
To carry a canoe on your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I recommend a simple carrier like the Malone foam blocks, # MPG156. The blocks fit on your crossbars and the canoe rests upside down in the grooves in each block. Use the included strap and rope to tie down the bow and stern.
If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch on the vehicle, I recommend adding a T-Load, # RTL002, which will help with stability and weight carrying of the canoe. Some additional foam blocks, like # SR5528 may be needed.
