Bulky controllers get in the way, but this one keeps your cab clean. The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty hides its main unit behind the dash so only a tiny knob shows—just 1-7/8" long and 9/16" wide. It blends right in, like a factory switch, and you can mount it anywhere that’s easy to see and reach. Turn the dial to fine-tune braking power, press it for manual override, and use the color lights to check system status.
The Liberty’s proportional system keeps your trailer braking in sync with your tow vehicle. Its built-in 3-axis accelerometer measures deceleration in all directions and sends matching power to the trailer brakes. Whether you’re easing to a stop or braking hard downhill, both sets of brakes respond together for even, steady control. It works with electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes on trailers with up to 2 axles (4 brake assemblies).
Once installed, the Liberty calibrates automatically as you drive. The LED light cycles through colors while it learns its orientation and direction of travel—steady blue means it’s ready. There’s no trailer required for calibration, and you’ll never have to redo it manually; if recalibration is ever needed, the controller handles it on its own.
The included universal wiring harness hardwires into your vehicle and plugs straight into the controller—no special tools or programming required. You can mount the control box almost anywhere within reach of the 3-foot cable connecting it to the knob using screws, tape, or zip ties (not included). A universal panel is provided for a neat finish, or pick up optional custom panels for an exact factory look.
With an output voltage range of 9V–16V and a continuous current rating of 18 amps at 12V DC, this controller handles everyday towing with confidence. It meets UNECE R21 and FMVSS 201 safety standards, showing Redarc’s focus on reliability under tough conditions. Once installed, you get smooth stops, a streamlined dash, and durable performance every time you tow.
