Question:

I am purchasing a new 2026 Rav4 Woodland Hybrid. I may want to switch out the 4 pin flat wiring plug on rear hitch to a 7 pin round to utilize trailer brake wiring. Could you please point me in the right product direction, either wired or wireless, for a good trailer brake controller and wiring for the new Rav4 Woodland. Hoping you guys may have figured out the best kit solution for this new model. Thank You, Dan

Hey Dan, for a brake controller for your 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland I would recommend the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED52VR as it puts only a small knob on the dash of your vehicle and is a great performing proportional brake controller overall.

To convert your 4-way to a 7-way and wire this in the correct kit you would need is the part # ETBC7 which comes with everything. It's not a plug and play option but the wiring isn't too difficult.

I may be towing a small RV trailer at 2000lbs. or less, dry weight. Our 2026 Rav4 Woodland can pull up to 3500 lbs. which will leave reserve for added cargo, water, and propane weight.
