Features to know about

Safety First: Built-In Bypass Mode for Maximum Flow Control

Imagine a sudden gas surge while camping; the built-in bypass mode on the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail automatically shuts off the gas flow once it surpasses the 450,000 Btu per hour limit. This safety feature ensures peace of mind by preventing potential hazards such as gas leaks, which could occur if a hose fails or disconnects.

Efficient Gas Flow: High-Pressure and High-Flow Rate Capability

When using propane in your RV, maintaining a constant supply is crucial. This pigtail excels with its high-pressure rating of up to 350 psi and a flow capacity of 450,000 Btu per hour. Whether you’re using a single or dual tank setup, this hose handles unregulated propane with ease, ensuring your journeys are warm and comfortable.

Durable Construction: Thermoplastic Hose with Brass Fittings

Frequent travelers often face wear and tear on their equipment. That’s why this propane pigtail is crafted from a tough thermoplastic hose with durable brass fittings. These materials are UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified, meaning they are engineered for longevity and resilience, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Versatile Connectivity: Type 1 - Female and 1/4 Inch - Male NPT Fittings

Switching tanks during a trip should be smooth and fuss-free. With the MB Sturgis Pigtail’s female Type 1 and male NPT fittings, connecting your propane cylinder to the regulator is seamless. The fittings are standardized to fit most RV setups, ensuring that your camping setup remains versatile and adaptable with minimal hassle.

Extreme Weather Ready: Temperature Range from -40 F to 140 F

No one wants to worry about equipment during extreme weather conditions. This pigtail hose is designed to withstand harsh temperatures from -40 F up to 140 F, making it a reliable component for all-season travel. Whether you’re camping in the snowy mountains or the sunny plains, this propane pigtail stands up to the elements.

Seamless Integration with RV Systems: Ideal for Split-Tank Systems

Many RV systems have split-tank designs, and finding the right hose can be a challenge. This specific pigtail is perfect for those setups, connecting the tank on the passenger’s side to a high-pressure regulator efficiently. It's a smart choice for campers with trailers that have tanks on opposite ends, simplifying the process of propane management on the road.

  • Do You Need Teflon Tape For A Propane Pigtail Connector.
Yes, you will need teflon tape rated for use with propane. The MB Sturgis Propane Hose Assembly - RV Type 1 w/ Back Check x 1/4" MPT - 12" # 100473-12 does not have an inverted flare in it so it will require tape on the end leading away from the propane tank. An example of the inverted flare can be seen on the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 2' # 100833-24. If you look at the fitting running away from the tank you will see the flare. If...

  • Propane Hose Replacements for Regulator
We do have hoses which may work for you. The MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-24 is a type 1 cylinder connection with a 1/4" male inverted flare. This is a 2 foot hose, though we also have a 15" hose # 100833-15 and 1 foot hose # 100575-12-MBS. These hoses are also available with back check, the 20" # 100473-20-MBS, 15" # 100473-15-MBS and 12" # 100473-12. I've added links to review videos of each of these products for you to take a look at.

  • Hoses and Regulators Needed to Add Dual Tank Propane Setup to Trailer
I attached a picture that shows what the typical dual tank setup looks like with the accessories needed labeled. First thing you need is pig tails to go from the tanks to the regulator like the part # 100473-12. Then for a dual tank regulator with automatic changeover we have the part # 37207-30395 that each of the pigtails would connect to. Then for a 12 foot long extension hose that would plug into outlet of the regulator you'd want the part # 100040-144-MBS. From there you'd connect...

  • Should Propane Leak From The Hose When I Remove The Tank on Fifth Wheel Trailer
You are correct, gas should not be able to leak from the hose when you remove the tank. It sounds like you have a stuck or defective check valve in the regulator or the pigtail. Sometimes corrosion can build up and cause the back check valve to stay open. Some customers have been able to use a small amount of spray lubricant or PB Blaster to loosen up any build up that may have caused the check valve to stay open, but your best option is to replace the regulator and the hose completely,...

  • How to Remove Quick Disconnect Adapter From POL Fitting on DOT Propane Tank
There isn't really any advice I have on removing the quick disconnect fitting other than getting a wrench and plenty of elbow grease. It's in a POL thread which means it's a left-hand thread so keep that in mind. Once you get the quick disconnect out you can use a standard pigtail hose with a Type 1 ACME nut like part # 100473-12 on it.

  • Parts Needed To Connect A 20lb Propane Bottle To An Accessory Needing A 3/8" Male Flare Fitting
You'll need to get a 3/8" male flare union from your local hardware store. This will have a 3/8" male flare fitting on both sides and then you could use a hose like the Camco Low-Pressure LP Gas Regulator w/ 6' Long Hose # CAM57703, which has a built in regulator. if you don't need a regulator then you can also get a 3/8" male flare to 1/4" female inverted flare fitting from your local hardware store and use a hose like the Propane Hose with Back Check # 37207-30795.

  • Recommended Adapter Fittings To Go From A 1/4" NPT Male Fitting To A 3/8" Female Flare Fitting
From what you're saying you have a 3/8 Female Flare fitting on your regulator and need to connect to propane tank with a pigtail hose. While we don't currently carry an adapter hose to meet this need we do have some adapters that can help get you there. • Pigtail Hose And Adapter Needed To Connect To A 14mm x 1.5 Male Propane Fitting
Hey Layne, We don't currently offer metric fittings so you would need to get the correct adapter from your local hardware store, but we can hook you up with the pigtail hose portion of this. We offer pigtail hoses with a 1/4" male inverted flare (MIF) # 100575-12-MBS or 1/4 male NPT # 100473-12. Both are a foot in length so I would just see whether the npt or MIF is cheaper and go with that option.

Thanks so much for the pictures and I'm sorry to hear about your accident! I hope everyone is okay. The correct replacement hose for your regulator is the MB Sturgis # 100473-12. This hose measures 12" long but various longer units are available, which I have linked below. The brass fitting/adapter you see on your existing hose is what is seen on some regulators, such as with the Camco # CAM59005. These are typically installed and kept on the regulator itself but sometimes are put on...

  • Connecting Kenmore LP Dryer to Propane Tank on RV
Thanks for the picture of the LP requirements of your dryer. It uses a standard 10 water column propane pressure rating so the regulator part # 108220 that you referenced is a good start since that is what this is designed for as well. You'll need a pigtail from the tank to the regulator like with the part # 100473-12 which is 12 inches long and then a hose to go from the regulator to the dryer. For a 10 foot hose you'd then want the part # 100202 and that would be all you'd need.
