Trailer Hitch, Wiring, & Brake Controller For 2024 Chevy Blazer EV

Updated 07/03/2025 | Published 10/10/2024

Question:

I own a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS RWD with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds. Id like to get a trailer hitch, brake controller, and 7-pin connection. Do you sell these parts for this vehicle? If you do, can you tell me the part numbers for all of pieces of equipment? Thank you for any help.

Hi Joann,

We actually sell all the parts you're looking for to tow with your 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, and I'll go ahead and list out the exact parts you need for this:

- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C63ZV

- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C44FR

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7

- Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR

This is all you'll need, as the T-Connector gives you the 4-way, and you'll then plug that into the 7-way that comes with the # ETBC7, which gives you the rest of the parts needed for installation.

Then for the brake controller, the Liberty is great because it uses a dash-mounted knob that is both easy to use and keeps a big bulky brake controller unit out of your cab.

Kyle, What wire do you use for the brake pedal wire on the Blazer EV? There are three wires on the brake pedal switch but none are straight 12v.

@BryanM I just took a look at what Roadmaster has to say about the brake light switch, and they have the Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751483 marked as required for the stop light circuit. That usually means the stop light circuit signal is too weak to be effective. The only way to be able to verify which wire you need to tap into is to use a circuit tester to see which wire gets hot ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed.

@JonG I ended up using the center high mounted stop light, which is better because when the EV regens to slow down using one pedal driving, it turns on the brake light even if you aren't stepping bon the brake pedal. The K219 Lighting Control is under the dash on the left in the back. It has five connectors. The CHMSL is in the blue connector, it's pin 25, on the bottom of the connector, brown with a yellow stripe. This information is available in the service manual, available by subscription from AC Delco TDS online.
