Video Transcript for Redarc Brake Controller 331-TPH-007 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Red Arc plug and play wiring harness for the Tow Pro trailer brake controllers. This wiring adapter eases the installation of your Red Arc Tow Pro Classic or Tow Pro Elite electric brake controller. The custom connector end plugs into the port beneath your vehicle's dash so this is a vehicle specific wiring harness. And then the other end plugs into your Tow Pro electric brake controller. Now if you're using this on the Tow Pro Elite, it plugs directly into the control box. If you're using this on the Tow Pro Classic, then some wire splicing is required.

It also has the mesh coding or jacket that goes over the wires, keeps them bundled together and protected. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Red Arc plug and play wiring harness for the Tow Pro trailer brake controllers.

My 2015 Ford F150 needed a trailer brake controller for the small squaredrop trailer that we bought recently. I did a little research and found that the REDARC controllers were very highly regarded. Can't give you much of an analysis of its performance, but it went in very easily - everything is just plug and play - the unit figures out which way is forward and then you have the option of dialing in the exact amount of power going to the trailer brakes. The hardest thing was deciding where to drill the hole for the control knob!

2019 Ford F-150

Installed in 2019 F-150. Not a whole lot of options on where to mount the remote switch on the dash. Mounted a plated of aluminum in the space where the factory control would be. The factory wiring was behind the dash in the back of the dummy cubby hole. The plug-and-play harness plugged directly into the Ford harness, then just had to clip off the black end and push the wires into the new connector supplied with the control module. The control module fit perfectly under the steering column, horizontally on a steel support plate. The next day, towed the trailer with two RZR's from WI to KS and back. Every thing worked perfectly.

  • Best Way to Wire the Redarc Brake Controller on 2020 Ford Ranger Without Tow Package
Thanks for the pictures you sent! It looks like you don't have the right plug under your dash which is due to not having the factory tow package on your 2020 Ford Ranger. That's ok, since there's still a solution to adding brake controller wiring to your truck. Ford USA offers the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR with their own wiring kit included so it's confirmed that this controller is compatible with the 2020 Ford Ranger. I talked with Redarc and they explained how to wire your Ranger...

  • Correct Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller on 2017 Ford E-450 Motorhome
I took a look at your order for the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR, and while it will work with your 2017 Ford E-450 motorhome, it also looks like you have the wrong plug-in adapter. It looks like you ordered the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # 331-TPH-007, which is the incorrect harness for a 2017 E-450. The correct harness for a 2017 Ford E-450 is the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # 331-TPH-005. This harness...

You are correct. The Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # 331-TPH-007 you were looking at is the correct adapter for your 2016 Ford Flex with the factory tow package. This will plug into the factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash of your vehicle and directly into the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR you mentioned. I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • Mounting Panel To Install Redarc Tow Pro Elite on 2018 Ford F-150
To install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR in the 2018 Ford F-150 I recommend the Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob part # 331-TPSI-001. This is a universal mounting panel, Redarc does not make vehicle specific mounting panels. If your Ford has a factory towing package, I recommend to use adapter part # 331-TPH-007 to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite. If your truck does not have a factory tow package you can...

The Elite can toggle between a user controlled (time delayed) mode for the trailer brakes for off road use and proportional mode, while the Liberty operates only proportionally. We have the parts you're looking for! It looks like Ford is using the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, part # 331-EBRH-ACCV2, as the brake controller for a 2020 Ford Ranger. If your Ranger has a factory 7-way, then the harness you need to install this brake controller is the Plug-and-Play Harness, part # 331-TPH-007. This will allow you to easily hook up the Tow-Pro Elite. I've linked to a video review of this harness for you to look at. We also have the controller and harness bundled together,...

In order to setup your 2016 Ford F-150 XLT for towing the Keystone Outback Ultra-lite 260UML you will need a trailer hitch, trailer wiring harness, and brake controller. These will be all that is required but I would also recommend a weight distribution system as well to both help with vehicle sag and potential trailer sway issues. Therefore, if you are towing a trailer with brakes one will need to be added.
