This setup handles serious towing duty without breaking a sweat. The Kenda Loadstar 4.80-12 bias tire has a 6-ply rating and carries up to 990 lbs at 90 psi. Paired with a matching 12" x 4" galvanized steel wheel rated for 1,250 lbs, it meets DOT specs for dependable performance under load. It’s built to stay stable and surefooted when fully loaded on long hauls.
Saltwater, humidity, and road grime don’t stand a chance against the galvanized coating on this steel wheel. The finish forms a tough zinc barrier that keeps rust from taking hold, even after repeated dunking and storage outdoors. It’s the kind of protection that keeps a trailer setup looking clean and working right season after season.
This bias tire uses thick nylon cords placed at a 30- to 45-degree angle in alternating layers. That crisscross pattern makes the sidewalls stiffer so the entire tire flexes evenly across uneven ground. The result is better handling and a smoother ride when your trailer’s bouncing over imperfect pavement or gravel approaches.
Getting the right fit is easy thanks to standard sizing throughout. The 12" wheel features a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, zero offset, and a pilot diameter of 3.19". Wheel bolts are the common 1/2"-20 size, so it installs using typical trailer hardware without modification.
If anything happens to the tire within the first year—puncture, damage, or defect—it’s covered for replacement at no cost. That’s backed up by a 5-year tire warranty and limited 2-year coverage on the wheel itself for long-term confidence every time you hook up and roll out.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

shop for an inexpensive wheel and get a cheap wheel... absolute trash finish. I think these are welded by a monkey! Thankfully it is just for a small trailer; I'm still considering a return.
Great spare tire for my jn1612 trailer. Thank you! Super fast shipping
Totally satisfied with my delivery of 2 trailer wheels and tires along with a spare tire mount.
Mounted new tires and spare tire bracket in about 30 min total . Everything went on effortless and I’m set to use the trailer again with improved safety dependability.
I would highly recommend using etrailer for their trailer needs.
Nice tires and wheels delivered on time as scheduled. Yes I would buy again.
You sent me the wrong size tire and rim. I will be sending it back as soon as I can for a refund.too bad things did not work out.
Just over 1 year, very low miles...both of these tires went within 2 weeks of each other. Very disappointed. Will not order again.
Great product and fast shipping, can't beat that!
Got two new wheels for a jet ski trailer. Got them on in 15 minutes and they look great!
Wheel and tire fit perfectly. Runs great down the road. One of my old tires was bouncing a lot (I could see it in my mirror) and the treads eventually wore out. No local tire store would balance a 12" trailer tire/wheel.
The guides and advice on this site take the stress out of ordering online.
Long term review will have to take place later :-)
Great looking tire. Looks great on my trailer for a quality spare. I can't wait to get the new axle installed, which is arriving toaday and get this back on the water.
I needed tires for my 5 x 8 trailer because the old tires were cracking on the sides. I priced out several companies and one of the larger discount stores wanted nearly double. I got a better deal buying 2 tires with wheels than if I had gone to a tire shop for just tire replacement. I’m very happy with the price, service and shipping time using etrailer. Thanks much!!

These tires are still working great. I use this trailer frequently and am happy with my tires from etrailer. Will definitely order from them again for tires and other parts. Thx
Easy ordering procedure. Quick turnaround delivery. Tires and mounted rims look great. Checked pressures on delivery at 65.5 PSI on each tire. Max PSI rating shows 90. Wondering if it’s worth increasing pressure beyond 65.5? Trailer and boat combined weight under 1000 lbs.

The manufacturer recommends keeping the tire inflated to the max pressure listed on the tire sidewall which is 90 psi in this case. Theoretically, because you're well under the max capacity you could lower the pressure to a degree, but if you did so, there's no way of telling what the load capacity would be at a lower pressure. If it were me, I'd run it at 90 psi.
Tires showed up promptly but as others have stated the finish on the rims is a little odd at places.
The wheew/tires arrived on schedule. Installation was easily done the next day. Everything tested out prefectly. They will get their first real test this coming weekend with a planned 100 mile trip. I will do an update after the trip.
Good looking wheel and tire. Upsized my small boat trailer from 8" to 12" wheels. Have not pulled the trailer yet but expect the wheels and tires to perform satisfactorily.

They look great on your trailer, Rod! When are you taking the boat out next?
I am running these on a 16' boat trailer (aluminum with 25hp tiller) and after multiple trips they run down the road great and show minimal wear.
It looks okay but the galvanizing on the rim if it's actually galvanized and not painted has ended up on the tire which I don't understand how that would happen if the rims were galvanized and then the tires were mounted
Quick delivery. Everything arrived in great shape. I bubble tested the tires/valves and no leaks. A little galvanizing build up on the inside of the wheel (not where the tire/wheel interfaces) but this can't be seen after installation (unless you crawl under the trailer...). The wheel surfaces facing outwards look great. I haven't installed them yet on my trailer but I would expect them to do fine. I'll report back if I have any issues.
Looks good mounted on my trailer.

I agree Phil! Thanks for including the photos and let us know if you need anything else.
I love the new tires...I put them on a galvanized boat trailer I bought in the mid 1990's, I have gone thru 3 sets of rims over the time as the white painted rims would pit...then rust. The other issue was they were only 4.8" x 8" tires but trailer had fenders to accommodate 12" tires. Don't know why I waited so long but purchased larger 4.8" x 12" tires with galvanized rims, what a difference. etrailer helped me select the needed tires and price was great compared to what local stores had, and no one locale had galvanized rims.
etrailers' prices are fantastic and had my 3 tires and rims in a few days, great turnaround time. Will see how the tires last as we are still in the depth of winter here in the northeast.

Stood up to several fishing trips as I am retired. Still look good as new. No slow leaks after sitting thru 1st months of winter. Great tires

One of the wheels arrived with a ripped valve stem that was not apparent when being unpacked. During mounting of the trailer, I noticed the rip. Any slight pressure that was applied to it, caused it to leak. Once I noted the issue, I contacted etrailer in order to get a replacement. They told me that they were unable to do anything about it and recommended that I contact the manufacturer, who was unresponsive. Since I was about to move cross country, I ordered another set while I waited on the original issue to get resolved( it never did). I mounted the new tire with one spare and started my journey. Within a day, one of the tires blew even though we were careful to keep it below the weight and speed rating. I mounted my spare, drove to the nearest Harbor Freight and bought a different set of tires that not only allowed me to complete my journey, but are still in great shape today. 10/10 would NOT recommend either this brand of tire or etrailer. Horrible customer service from both companies and junk tires.
The tires/wheels arrived a day later than expected, but they were very well packaged, they look great, and i have the peace of mind of having new tires instead of the dry rotted ones that were on the trailer. One less thing to query about on our trip. Thank you!
Good tire and wheel set. Galvanized wheel looks great. Time will tell how long it stays looking great. I hope it lasts as long as the white painted ones because i like the look of the galvanized better. Sharper image and fits perfectly. Only thing I would change is the price because you can get a 5.20 five lug trailer tire at Harbor Freight for $30 less. Only issue is HF doesnt have 4.80 size in a five lug wheel...need to drop the price some.
The wheels and tires arrived on time and as advertised. Nice upgrade from the 20 year old setup.

It looks great! Hopefully with that galvanized finish these wheels will last another 20 years for you!
Purchased new & Installed with pressure sensors for a 1948 mile one way trip from New Orleans area to Bozeman, MT. Throughout the 3 days drive they performed flawlessly at the 75 and 80mph roadways in the West. Notably too they remained cool with very little 2-3psi variations throughout the trip. I have 100% confidence in these tires as these safely transported our vintage 13ft Boston Whaler w 40ho Yamaha motor safely on this and surely will do the same on other travels to lakes throughout the country.
Lastly and most importantly initially we ordered too large a tire set that caused a problem. EVERY PERSON AT ETRAILER TOOK IMMEDIATE CARE IN RESOLVING THE PROBLEM IN THE RETURN & REPLACEMENT W THE TIRES I AM REPORTING. BEST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Just great. Over a year of hauling household furniture and building materials through 500 mile round trips twice a month during all weather conditions...snow, sleet, rain, hot days and nights, put these tires to the test. Never leaked air, no rust in the galvanization, tread wear is even.
