  Typically special trailer tires are usually rated to operate at a maximum speed of 65 mph and if you exceed 65 mph, heat could build up in the tire and cause it to break down and fail. The tire I recommend for your 4.80-12 size is the Kenda # AM10062 because it was designed for excellent handling at high speeds even though the speed rating is 65 mph.   If your motorcycle trailer has ST (special trailer) tires, then they are made to be run at the max psi. If they do not have this ST distinction, then you most likely can run them at a slightly lower tire pressure.   Changing to a Radial Tire # TT48012C is going to be the best way to get a more reliable tire for highway hauling without having to worry about any fender clearance issues. Radial tires perform much better on highways and do not wear as quickly as a similar Bias Tire # AM10062. To move to a 13" wheel and tire it will require modification to your fenders and possibly axle due to the larger size of the wheels and tires.

  You always want to have your trailer tires inflated to the max psi rating on their sidewall.   Trailer tires should always be inflated to their max capacity. This helps with load carrying capability but also for heat dissipation and wear. With your tires at 60 lbs, you will have your tires getting too hot and wear too fast as well as decreased traction even with more road contact. My recommendation is to go back to your 4.8-12 tires because you don't need the additional width. The load range isn't the issue, but you won't have any issue with that either for this application....

  There's no reason you couldn't upgrade your 4.80-12 Load Range B tires with Load Range C's like the part # AM10062. These would fit the exact same as your current tire with the only difference being that they have a higher Load Range. You could also go with a 5.30-12 like the part # AM10068 as long as you have room for a tire that is just a tiny bit taller and wider. This tire is 5.5 inches wide and 21.9 inches tall, whereas the 4.8-12s are 4.9 inches wide and 20.7 inches tall.
