Built-In Rain Shield

MaxxFan Deluxe Rain Shield

The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.

The smoke dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Variable-Speed Fan

MaxxFan Deluxe Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan operates in manual mode. You can choose from 4 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed.

This fan also exhausts stale air out of your RV. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Flush-Mounted Keypad

Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe

The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to operate the fan, including turning the fan on or off. You can also control the fan speed.

Manual-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Deluxe Open

The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, and it is translucent so that some natural light can shine through. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.

Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Deluxe Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

I installed this myself on a vintage camper. It fit perfect in the space where the old vent was. Wiring was simple, and cutting down the bezel was easy. I have left this open for months and even in storms and no rain gets in. Being able to keep it open keeps the camper from getting musty. I also like the tinted skylight effect it gives.

by:

Work great, no problems with rain, snow or leaks. With solar panels we leave both fans on while Class A is unoccupied to keep humidity down and temperature cooler inside rig. We are very satisfied

Delivered as promised in fine shape. MaxxFan fit perfectly in existing 14X14 opening. Simple install and is functioning as designed.

by:

Excellent service, arrived on time,People were very helpful

by:

MaxxAir fan arrived on time. Installation was easy, just follow the enclosed instructions. Hardest part was removing the old vent, that takes the most time. Total time start to finish was about 3 hours.
Unit is good quality and workmanship. Very quiet running and easy to operate.

by:

This is the fan that should be initially installed in every new RV. On low speed you can’t even here it run. The volume of air that it can move is fantastic.

Excellent. Fantastic air flow and on low speed you have to look at the blades to see if it is operating. So quiet!

by:

Easy install with lots of information on how to install. I use this on my Ford E-150 and so far it has been fantastic. Works well in light to medium rain but downpours allow some water to splash in. Very quiet on lower speeds but a nice white noise sound at higher speeds.

by:

Excited to install for the Alaska summer

by:

I live the ease operation of the fan as well as how easy they are to install. This is the 3rd Maxfan I've ordered from etrailer, they are great and will continue to do business with them.

by:

This is the 3rd one that I have put in our trailers. Very easy to install. It really does move the air

Within a week after purchase the fan was rendered useless due to a very loud high-pitched squeaking sound on every speed setting. Not to doing some research I found that this is not a new issue and there's plenty of other people that have experienced the same. I contacted them and they said they would send me a new motor that I would need to install, I did not receive the motor until 3 months later causing me to have to delay a trip. I installed the new motor and am having the same issues. I cannot describe how disappointed I am having spent so much time and money now on this product. I live in a travel trailer and now I'm wearing ear plugs to sleep every night as the fan is my only way to regulate temperature.

I have contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that you should run the fan on high for 24hrs straight.

That sounds awful! I have contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that you should run the fan on high for 24hrs straight. This should get rid of the loud high-pitched squeaking sound.

by:

Nice fan, very quire. Works great in my van.

by:

Added two of these to my travel trailer. Had to run electrical to both vent locations. These were well worth the effort to install. I can vent the hot air out of the trailer in about 30 seconds by running these fans with the side windows open. A great option for interior temperature control without having to run the AC. The fans can be noisy at the higher speeds but I usually run them effectively at lower speeds. I have been able to run these open in the rain with no issues. Love that they are low profile when closed during our travels.

Arrived exactly as promised, price better than all competitors. I am super happy

Easy install instructions....

by:

I'm hoping this product is "excellent". The brand is touted as the go-to vent. I'll chk out your video/info before I cut a hole in my Sprinter roof...

by:

I was pleased with the pricing and also pleased with the delivery schedule. It was right on time, which is very unusual in today's world. Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

by:

Moves air nicely.

by:

Really like this fan, works well and looks good

by:

the fan is very quiet, in fact I had to look to even make sure it was on. The hardest part was peeling the old butyl tape off and prepping the area for the new one. I like it a lot and it defiantly beats just a plain old vent.

Dale

  • Is it Possible to Upgrade MaxxFan Roof Vent to Version with Powered Lift
Since there isn't a way to upgrade your current roof vent to a version with a powered lift you'd have to go with an all new MaxxFan roof vent that has that feature like with the part # MA00-07500K instead.

  • Wire Gauge Recommendation When Installing MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Fan
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K only draws 5 amps so you don't need to go crazy with the wiring gauge but I would still recommend 10 gauge like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) as it's heavier than you'd ever need and will give you peace of mind knowing the wiring would never be an issue in that regard. 15 amp connectors would easily work.

I recommend using the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed - Smoke # MA00-06401K which is rated for 12v power along with a step down converter. Unfortunately we don't have any vent fans designed for 24v or the step down converter, but they aren't difficult to find. Another option is to use the Ultra-Fab Solar-Powered Plumbing Vent for Motor Homes - 7" Diameter x 3-3/4" Tall # UF53-945001 which will work as long as you have sun or even overcast skies. • Is There A Specific Battery Maintainer Needed When Using A MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K has a 5 amp draw while running on your battery. A battery tender wouldn't affect the motor on the MaxxFan burning up, that would be solely on usage wearing it down over time. It is important to keep your battery properly charged though, so it would be important to have something to keep it charged while the fan is in use. If you could give me more specifics on your setup I'd be happy to find the best charging solution for your battery.

  • Recommended Vent Setup to Cool Enclosed Trailer Mobile Workshop
Even the smallest RV air conditioning units we offer will require 115-volt AC electrical service of at least 11-amps to operate properly. The Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner will draw almost 4000-watts at startup and even once running it will still need close to 1300-watts to operate. Delivering this amount of power via high capacity 12V batteries and an inverter such as the 5000-watt Go Power # 34280179 will be a fairly costly and bulky proposition. Instead what I recommend...

You technically can use a powered roof vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-06401K however it is not recommended because the moisture can ruin the electronics. This will do the same thing as the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof vent but is manually operated instead of powered.

My first thought on recommending a replacement for your Fantastic Vent Fan Model 8000, is the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, # MA00-06401K. This is a 4-speed fan with ceiling fan mode that circulates air when vent is closed. It is a manual opening model and has a built-in rain shield that protects the interior of your RV or camper from rainwater. While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail. We've actually had this one asked before and have consulted with MaxxAir. Even though you can technically install the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-06401K wired to a separate switch, it is not recommended. The reason for this is that their fans are designed to have a constant 12V feed, and when an external switch is used there will be a short spike in voltage every time the switch is turned on, which over time could potentially cause issues with the circuit board on the vent. Additionally,...
