Review of MaxxAir RV Vents and Fans MA00-06401K

Today we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent. This is a twelve volt fan that's exhaust only. It's going to feature a four speed design, and it can be used as a ceiling fan, so if you close the lid you can actually operate the fan while the lid is closed and that's going to help to circulate air inside the trailer. Now one of the most unique features about the unit is right here. It's got this built in rain cover. It's going to use a patented design to keep out the rain, so no more stuffy interiors, even when it rains. There's no need to install a separate vent cover to get rain protection.

It's going to do a great job at keeping out the rain when the lid is open, so that way you can operate the fan in practically any weather. It's going to be a durable rain cover lid that open and closes with the rotating hand operating knob on the underside. It's got a smoke colored design to it and it is translucent so it will let in some light. I do want to mention as well that it's going to come with the roof mounting flange. It is a separate piece right here. Outer edge to outer edge, that's going to measure sixteen and a half inches.

It's a square design. It's got a rubber seal in there to create a nice weather-tight seal. That's going to attach to the housing right here of the unit with the built in clips and mounting hardware that's included with the kit. That's included and I just wanted to mention that, so we can set that aside. It's also going to come with your interior trim piece or garnish. This is going to add a clean finish look to the inside of your RV.

It's got the pre-drilled mounting holes for an easy installation. That's included as well. Outer edge to outer edge, that's going to measure sixteen and three eighths by sixteen and three eighths. Now we can go ahead and flip this over so you can see the underside of it. Located on the unit, we're going to have a flush mounted keypad. It's going to allow you to control the fan on or fan off, and you can adjust between settings one, two, three and four.

The flush mounted design makes those very easy to access and to clean. On this side you're going to have the hand operated knob that opens and closes the lid. One of the things I want to point out about this is that it has a lockable position, so once you get it to where you want it, you just push it in and it's going to lock that position into place. Now on the underside of the lid, it's going to have two arms, so two lifting are going to provide sturdy support for the lid while it's open. What that does, is it helps withstand high winds without fluttering, and it can remain fully open while you're driving. It's also going to have a removable insect screen right here. It's held with these retaining knobs, you just rotate those out of the way. The screen can be removed for easy removal and cleaning. Now the standard opening sides is going to make it easy to replace or upgrade and older vent. It's going to feature a fuse protected, sealed, ball-bearing motor that's built to last a long time. It's going to come with your electrical connectors and screws for installation. It's also going to come with detailed installation instructions. This unit's designed to fit roof thicknesses of one and one eighth of an inch to six and half inches thick, If the roof is less than one and one eighth inch thick, the ceiling must be built up to install this unit. It does require twelve volt DC and minimum five amp service when it comes to the fan specifications. That's going to give us a twelve inch diameter. It's a clear blade design, and that's going to contain a total of ten blades. Now the unit's designed to fit into a rough opening size of fourteen inches by fourteen inches or fourteen and a quarter by fourteen and a quarter. Last thing I want to mention is that with this fully closed and fully installed, it's going to extend above your roof by about five inches. With it fully open and installed, it's going to extend above your roof by about nine and five sixteenths of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent.
