Features to know about

Get Full-Size Comfort in a Compact Footprint

Upgrading from a small, low, or round RV toilet can get tricky when your bathroom has limited room behind the flange. The Dometic 420 pairs an elongated porcelain bowl and full-size seat with an 18" seat height while requiring a minimum 7-5/8" rough-in. You get a chair-height, residential-style seating position while keeping the rear space requirement compact for an elongated toilet.

Rinse the Whole Bowl With Each Flush

When residue collects around areas that the flush water does not reach, keeping your toilet ready for the next use takes extra attention. The rimless 360-degree PowerFlush sends water around the bowl for full-coverage rinsing, while the smooth porcelain surface makes cleanup easier when something does get left behind. A dual-action foot pedal lets you add water or flush without reaching down, while the easy-clean hinge improves access around the seat. The soft-close seat and lid close gently instead of clattering in close RV quarters.

Service the Ball Seal Without Tools

A worn ball seal can keep your toilet bowl from retaining water and can let tank odors reach the bathroom, making a small service item a major ownership problem. The 420 uses a no-tool replacement ball seal, along with a glass-reinforced, sonic-welded water valve and a one-way valve that helps prevent backflow into the fresh-water supply. When the ball seal wears, you can replace that service component directly instead of treating it as a reason to replace the entire toilet.

Check the Space Before You Install

A familiar floor connection does not eliminate the need to measure the bathroom around your toilet. The 420 uses a universal two-bolt floor connection and comes with a pre-installed floor flange seal and mounting hardware, but the installation still needs at least a 7-5/8" rough-in and room for its 19" depth, 15" width, elongated bowl, pedal, lid, nearby doors, cabinetry, and your legroom. Check the water-supply location as well, since an existing line may need adjustment if the inlet position differs. If your toilet mounts on a raised platform, factor that into the 18" seat height so the finished seating position isn't taller than you want.

Video Transcript for Review of Dometic RV Toilets - 420 Standard Height Elongated Bowl Tan Porcelain RV Toilet - DMC77JF

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Dometic 420 standard height elongated bowl tan porcelain RV toilet. Now this is a full size RV toilet that's designed to give you more of a look and feel of a residential toilet while still being built specifically for RV use. This has, as you've already been seeing here, an elongated porcelain and full size seat. And the bowl of course is porcelain. The seat and the lid are going to be plastic.

And so this is going to give you not only a full size seat, not only this elongated design, but from the seat all the way to the ground that this is going to be mounted on, it's going to be about 18 inches in height. So it's going to be a comfortable, familiar profile. Flushing is going to be handled with this foot pedal, so you're not going to have to use your hands. And let me see if I can give you an overhead view here. So I'm going to open up the lid and the seat just so you can get a better view of the inside.

And of course that half push is going to fill the bowl up with water. And then when you push it down all the way, it's going to open up the valve at the bottom of the bowl. So you can see that in operation there. So this has 360 degree gravity flush. What that's going to do is rinse around the entire bowl for efficient cleaning.

And this uses a heavy duty glass reinforced water valve that's sonic sealed, sonic welded rather, for durability. And along with the one way valve, it's going to help prevent water from blowing back into your RV's fresh water supply. Maintenance has been kept fairly straightforward. The compact hinge design is going to give you better access around the seat area for cleaning. And if the ball seal ever needs routine maintenance, it can be changed without tools, which is nice.

For insulation, the toilet uses a permanent two post mounting system with a universal two bolt floor connection. The floor flange seal is already installed. And then you're going to get some hardware with the caps here. So basically everything that you need to get this installed and up and running. Now I've given you some measurements here. Let me get my tape measure here. Let's look at the depth first. So basically front to back, trying to line that up here as best as I can. We're sitting pretty close to 19 inches deep it looks like. And then the width here at the widest point, getting that widest point there, about 15 inches wide. And then the height with the lid and seat closed, about 19 and a half inches tall. And then I mentioned the seat height. I think I said about 18 inches, so let me confirm that there with you. Yeah, so we're 18 inches. This weighs about 30, 32 pounds or so. It does require a minimum rough-in of 7.625 inches. But overall, this is going to be a great option to consider if you want the comfort and appearance of a residential style porcelain toilet and in your RV, we call this tan color. I believe the official designation that Dometic gives this bone, so again, it's definitely not white. You can see everything else around me is white. This is going to be more like that tan, that bone color. So if that's what you're looking for, if that's what. But we do also have this available in white as well. If you think you want some help with installation, we can help you with that as well. On this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. Well, again, my name's Andy, thank you for joining me.
