Video Transcript for Everchill RV Refrigerator Review

Hi there RV'ers. Today we're going to be taking a look at Ever Chill's 10 cubit foot refrigerator with freezer. They're available in either a 12 volt or a 120 volt application. The 120 volt will require a 120 volts to run so you'll either have to have your generator operation or you'll have to be plugged into a power supply at your camp site. The 12 volt can run off of your motor home's batteries so that's going to be ideal for off the grid. My favorite thing is it's size.

With 10 cubit feet there's plenty of room for you and your family. And the freezer on top is great for those perishable items such as meats and then you can also store ice inside so you can have a cold drink and ice cream. Now, you're probably thinking, "Well don't most RVs already come with a fridge" And you're right they do but if you're looking to add extra storage to your existing RV, looking to replace a broken unit, or you're restoring an old RV and you need a fridge for it this is going to be a great option with plenty of storage space. And the next question you're probably asking yourself is, "Well what makes an RV fridge different from a regular fridge I can buy at my local store" Well, the local store fridges are designed to be in your house which is stationary all the time. RV fridges are extra durable with more rugged interior components to withstand the vibrations of being driven down the road frequently. Additionally, there's anti vibration dampening technology inside for all of the moving components.

And finally, this fridge has a flush back which allows you to push it close up against the wall to save more space inside of your tightly compacted RV.One of the first things you'll notice is the large storage shelf you'll have on the door. You have a place for soda, condiments, and even a milk shelf. Down here at the bottom we have our crisper. The drawer here has an adjustable humidity bar at the top for the type of fruits or vegetables you have inside. There are two adjustable shelves with several different options for height adjustments.

At the top here we've got our LED light to make it easy to see inside at night and our adjustable thermostat. And then, in our freezer you'll see we have one adjustable shelf with three different height options. We've got two storage shelves on our door. And our thermostat is located here at the back center of the fridge. While both the 12 and 120 volt fridges are identical in most ways the 120 volt is going to be a higher wattage fridge so it will keep your food overall colder than what the 12 volt does. That's not saying the 12 volt's not going to keep it cold enough but if you would like to really freeze it down cold 120 is going to give you that extra output.

The fridge has a black and stainless steel finish so it's going to look great in any RV or camper. Both the freezer and refrigerator door are going to be reversible and you get all of the hardware you need included with it to swap those around. So, wherever the fridge will fit you can be ensured that the door will open the direction it needs to to get inside.Speaking of fit, many of our customers have asked if it comes with any mounting hardware. And while it doesn't come with any mounting hardware it's designed to fit underneath your cabinets and between your counters to keep it nice and secure. To help get your fridge in position and sit level there's adjustable feet located at the corners in the front and there are wheels located in the corners at the rear. When your fridge arrives it'll come in a box that looks similar to this. After you've cut your straps surrounding your box you'll actually want to lift the box off up the unit, you don't want to open it from the side. Now, you may need an extra set of hands to help you get it through the door. It is pretty large. Our doorway here as a reference is about 24 inches wide and you can see it's going to fit right in. And that completes our look at Ever Chill's 10 cubit foot refrigerator with a freezer.

  • Battery Disconnect Switch for Forest River Surveyor During Storage
You have a couple of different options when it comes to disconnecting the power from your batteries when your Forest River Surveyor is in storage and they all just depend on your personal preference as to which one is best for you. • How To Prevent Doors On Everchill Refrigerator From Opening While On Road
The Everchill Refrigerator for RV part # 324-000119 does have an option for you to add a latch using the Everchill 12-Volt RV Fridge Door Latch part # 324-000149. The latch would only be needed if you have issues with the magnets holding the doors shut on very bumpy roads. In most cases it is not needed but it is also a good peace of mind item to have. I have emailed a photo of the latch separately which I was able to find online.

The Everchill fridge # 324-000119 is a fine addition to any RV or trailer. The model you referenced, # 324-000119, is designed to run off of 12 volt power. If you need one that runs off 120 volt AC power it is # FCR14ACBQASS. These do not come with mounting brackets according to the manufacturer. They say that the counters and cabinets around it will keep the fridge in place. They are 23-1/2" wide x 24-3/4" deep x 59-5/8" tall so the hole would have to be slightly larger than that.

  • Easy Way to Add Switch to Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000119
If you are looking for an easy way to power the Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000119 on and off with a switch instead I have a better solution than trying to wire in a switch. Instead use a power strip with a switch. This basically requires no install time as you just plug in the fridge to the power strip and then the strip into the wall. The power strips also have ways to easily mount to walls which will be much easier than trying to reach around a fridge for a switch.

The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000119 is designed to run on 12 volts so no, it would not work on a 120 volt system. However, I do have an option for this in the Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000118 which is designed to run on 120 volts but can be converted to 12 volts using the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter part # 34279948.

The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000119 is a 12 volt refrigerator which was essentially designed so you can keep the contents inside cold while traveling down the road to your campsite and while at your campsite. In comparison, a 120 volt refrigerator like the Everchill Refrigerator for RVs part # 324-000109 is designed to be used when hooked up to shore power or a generator. • How Does Battery Amp-Hour Rating Affect 12V Refrigerator Operating Time
A battery's group number just refers to its physical size; a group 24 battery measures roughly 10.90 x 6.75 x 8.75 inches. There are different types of group 24 batteries, both thick plate deep-cycle batteries and thin plate stop/start batteries, with varying amp-hour (Ah) capacities. For operating a 12V refrigerator you'll want to use a separate dedicated high amp-hour battery. • How Do RV Appliances Receive Operating Power
RV power systems are usually set up so that when shore power is connected it will be the priority power source used to power devices like your fridge and also to charge your battery bank. Once disconnected from shore power the on-board battery bank becomes the power source. It sounds like your RV is set up this way and so what you are seeing is normal. With the battery disconnected and no shore power available the fridge should go dark.

  • Troubleshooting Excessive Condensation Inside Everchill Refrigerator
There are a couple of reasons why you might be getting excessive condensation inside your Everchill Refrigerator like the # 324-000119 that you referenced. Condensation like what you're describing is typically caused by warm air finding a way inside so the first thing you will want to check is the gasket on the door that keeps a good seal when it's closed. Check to make sure it isn't worn or broken and in need of a replacement. A good at-home test is to place a piece of paper between...

The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000119 that you referenced is designed to run off of electricity only. At this time we do not have any that run off propane. Since the lights and fan in your Everchill WD-282FWDC Refrigerator # 324-000119 work but the compressor does not appear to be performing its cooling duties I suspect you may have a power issue. The compressor will not operate unless it sees at least 10.5 volts input power. It requires 11-amps of current for normal operation. To determine if power is the issue you can check your batteries' actual voltage and current using a multi-meter like # BTMT15. Also check that the wiring used to...

  • Does EverChill RV Refrigerator Draw Power from House Power Source If Trailer is Plugged into Outlet
That will depend on the wiring of your travel trailer but most likely the trailer is wired so that when you have it plugged into a power source like your house the appliances will draw power directly from it and then when not the battery would get used as a power source through an power converter.

The Everchill Refrigerator for RVs # 324-000119 you referenced draws 11 amps under normal operation. That means every hour it would pull 11 amps from your battery bank. So lets say your battery bank is rated for 220 amps (a common RV deep cycle amp rating), that would mean that it would take 20 hours to totally drain it.
