Video Transcript for Review of Maxxair RV Vents and Fans - Enclosed Trailer Parts - MA10A21275K

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the replacement printed circuit boards for your max air powered lift RV roof vents. As you can see, we've got two different boards here. These are the part numbers that you see on the screen there. Essentially, these are exactly the same thing with one small difference between them.

If you look at the circuit board, you can see they have almost all of the same components except this large black box here. This is actually going to allow you to work. Allows this board to work for your max air vents that are both exhaust and intake. So this other one that does not have that box is only going to work with your max air fans that are exhaust only. If your unit is able to bring air in as well as exhaust it out, you're going to need this one over here.If your unit is only capable of exhausting the air from inside your RV, this is the unit that you will need here.

Keep those part numbers up there for you to make sure that you are getting the right one. It's a pretty slight difference between them, but obviously it's going to have a big impact on their usability. We want to make sure that you're getting the product that you need, so just wanting to clear that up for you. Both of them are going to work with your max air power. It's just that functionality difference that you need to look out for.

We're going to make sure that you knew the difference and are going to get the right chip that is going to work for you. That is going to complete our look at the max air replacement printed circuit board. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

Replaces the printed circuit board for your MaxxFan RV roof vent with powered lift and reversible fan. Works with both aftermarket and OEM models of MaxxFan Plus and MaxxFan Deluxe manufactured after 2010.

Months after installing new circuit board, following all instructions to a tee, the fan developed a mind of its own. The cover would open and close on its own, a constant chirping sound is emitted from the circuit board. Even depressing the forward/reverse button on the remote would cause the fan to turn off or close the cover or both. The remote has fresh batteries and the fan has never suffered any trauma such as an impact or any type of flooding. I haven’t orderered another as to avoid spending good money for an inferior product.

by:

I bought the board with the intention of fixing my fan. I had a lot of trouble trying to get it to work.I called the Representative and they told me they couldn't help me but gave me a phone number to call. I called the service tech. And he told me what to did still no result. I ended up bring the camper to the dealer.
And the and they ended up installing a brand new fan. The whole unit. Final bust was over five hundred dollars. This was not.
A good Experience. I hope the new one is trouble free.

by:

Came as expected. Fast and well packaged.
Was easy it install.

Still working great.

The part I had ordered would not work and I contacted Etrailer. I discussed the problem with Jill and I had also sent pictures. Jill returned my call after talking with other technicians and provided me the documentation to return the part. Thanks Jill for your concern and time to secure the right part.

Hey Charles! I wanted Jill to be able to see your review so I sent it to her and she actually has a response for you: Thank you Chuck for the great review I appreciate it. I am always here to help in anyway I can. If there is anything I can do in the future feel free to reach out!

The replacement part solved my issue. What else can I say. It was an easy install.

I easily replaced the bad board and my unit runs like it was brand new. I have since traded my travel trailer in that had this Maxxair fan. I have a new Grand Design Imagine without this fan. When I am ready, I will be purchasing this fan to put above the bed.

by:

Answers to my questions via chat were very prompt.
My order arrived quickly.
I've installed it and everything is working as expected.

by:

I ended up replacing this board after I had replaced the fan lift motor and the gear operator mechanism. Should have started with the board. It was the board all along. Too lazy to get the voltage meter out. This exercise got the entire fan cleaned out and ready for next adventures.

by:

I replaced the PCB on my Maxxfan when it would only work on one speed and only exhaust. But when I put the new PCB it didn’t change anything. With further research, I discovered it was the moisture sensor and not the PCB. But, now I have a spare part for my fan. This company is an amazing company and really great with everything they carry

by:

After we figured out what the problem with our MaxxFan was, we ordered the part and it arrived soon after ordering. We installed the new circuit board and that cleared up our problem.

A year ago I contacted Maxxair about a problem with my rv roof fan that I purchased about five years ago and is out of warranty. After explaining my problem they sent me a new fan motor which ended up fixing all the problems I had with the fan. I just walked out to check and the fan works perfectly. I highly recommend Maxxair.

Replace a circuit board on my MaxxAir Powered Lift RV roof vent fan. The circuit board fit perfectly. Watch several videos on how to replace the circuit board. Had the job done in about 45 minutes. Hardest part of the job was getting all the wires hidden.

by:

Still going strong one year later! Etrailer is one of the premier places for RV / Towing / Truck equip out there without a doubt!

by:

One of the two circuit boards we purchased to replace faulting circuit boards on our Maxx air fan has also started to fault. The other is functioning just fine. This is very frustrating.

by:

Great part and even better customer ser vice.

by:

Received the part, but it was wrong. But it was very easy to do the return with them.
Thank you Etrailer

by:

It appears that the circuit board, once sealed against moisture, has been a fix. I also added a regulator upstream of the board to keep the voltage at 12 volts or below. These fans do NOT tolerate voltage fluctuations.

by:

Fit well and operates as it should. My only complaint is how long it took to get to me.

by:

Product is as advertised. Only concern is that one of the components (yellow square piece, see photo) on the control board looks to be bent over as a result of the shipping process in soft materials. I have straightened it out by hand and am hoping everything works once installed. Otherwise clear communication and great customer service.

by:

Circuit board works perfectly! Sade a ton of money doing it myself.
Customer service rep Kimberly O was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

by:

Direct replacement for my Maxxfan 7500k reversible fan. My fan output mode stopped working and would only pull inward. Motor was replaced last year.

by:

I received exactly the part I needed and it has worked perfectly for the year I’ve had it installed. As usual with everything I’ve ordered from etrailer shipping was fast and the product was quality.

by:

Giving this two stars because the price is absolutely ridiculous for what it is... especially since MaxxAir should have applied a conformal coating on these from the start thereby never needing to even have this part in such high demand. This part costs almost as much as a whole new one. Absurd for a product that typically fails due to manufacturer incompetence. I reached out to MaxxAir before buying this and even though the board failed due to a manufacturer defect, they wouldn't help me. Giving it two stars instead of just 1 because while the price is a total rip off, it does work.

by:

It fixed it, I first thought it was the remote but it was not,it was the electrical board you sent me.Thank you all

by:

Lauren did a great job getting me what I needed.Arrived on time, I installed the board and it works like the day I bought the Coach.

Thank you Lauren & eTrailer!

by:

I’ve had too many problems, piece of garbage, hooked bypass switch on/off, instead off buying top of the line, buy low end with no extras features…think about it.. $185.00 plus for a mother board !

Carol;
Thank you for the prompt email
regarding the circuit board replacement for my MaxxAir Roof Vent. I must say that etrailer customer service has been fantastic with regards to this item. I completely understand that the lengthy delay in obtaining the item was the fault of MaxxAir and not etrailer. Your customer service regularly kept me informed of the manufacturer's shipping progress and it was very much appreciated. Anytime in the past I have ordered from etrailer I have received excellent service and this time was no exception. Thank you and your team again for the outstanding customer service.
Sincerely,
Roman

I am NOT a happy camper! MAXXAIR roof vents are a piece of crap. Three times now I have had to replace the circuit boards and they still do not work. Correction, they work for a short while then stop. E trailer experts were great, you put me in direct contact with Maxxair and they were helpful but their productcircuit boards are simply crap. From the looks of the large number of similar complaints. I am not the only persons complaining. I would NEVER RECOMEND MAXXAIR to anyone.

  • Troubleshooting A MaxxAir MaxxFan That Keeps Turning Off
Your MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Manual Lift - 10 Speed - White # MA00-04000K could be cutting off after 10 seconds for the following reasons: 1. Insufficient or fluctuating power. Your fan could be receiving less than 12v of power. Check the power wire at the unit using a multimeter like # PT89ZR. If you aren't receiving 12v then you could have a voltage drop off due to the length of the wire running from the battery to the fan and would just need to increase the...
