Go Tankless or Go Home

Tankless Water Heater

Say goodbye to quick, military-style showers, refilling your tank, and waiting for the hot water to recover. This revolutionary design replaces your outdated tank heater and gives you the luxury of taking back-to-back showers, washing dishes, and running a load of laundry all at once. Unlike traditional tank heaters that require constant energy to keep your water hot, this tankless, propane-fueled water heater only uses energy when you turn on your faucet or shower, providing the ultimate efficiency at a campground or off-the-grid. The endless, on-demand hot water has no recovery time and is perfect if you're on the road full-time or traveling with a large group.

Relaxing Showers without Scalding or Freezing

Vortex Pic

Has your warm and relaxing shower ever been interrupted by a cruel burst of ice-cold water? Perhaps you've been the victim of a scorching surge of hot water that scalds you and sends you dancing out of harm's way. Either way, it's the worst, but those days are over. Furrion's vortex technology is designed to eliminate those dreaded hot and cold water fluctuations by consistently mixing hot and cold water together to reach your desired temperature, ensuring those warm, comfortable showers.

Safety First

This state-of-the-art technology is equipped with built-in safety measures to ensure you, your family, and your RV stay out of harm's way.

Its dual temperature sensors automatically shut off power if the water temperature exceeds 149 F, preventing the unit from overheating while also reducing the risk of hot water scalding. The unit also has a flame monitoring feature that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out to prevent gas from leaking inside your RV and a built-in safety valve that allows pressure to vent at 87 psi to prevent excess pressure and heat build-up.

Anti-Freeze Control Board

This tankless water heater features a control board to keep itself warm when temperatures drop. Freezing water can damage the unit, so an internal thermostat monitors water temperature and will turn the heat on automatically when it gets too cold. This feature will only work if the water heater is receiving power and gas. You will need to remember to winterize the water heater before storage over the winter.

  • Recommended Tankless Replacement For An Atwood GC6AA-10E RV Water Heater
Hi Wes, All newer water heater models are transitioning to smaller sizes as the technology gets better so you'll likely have a gap regardless of which unit you choose to go with. There's typically framing around the water heater so you'll just need to add in some 2" x 2" boards to fill in the gap and give the mounting flange of the new unit something to grab onto when mounting. I've attached a video below where Jake had to do this in order to install the # FR93FR. These units come with...

  • Replacement Water Heater for an Atwood GCH10A-3E Water Heater
I do have an option for you. But I can tell you that the feature you have with the hose coming from the engine through the water heater is no longer available. Since you are needing to replace your GCH10A-3E water heater, I recommend going with a tankless option like the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR. The # FR98SR is a tankless, on-demand water heater that lets you simultaneously wash dishes, do laundry, and take endless hot showers without hot and cold water fluctuations....

  • Replacement Option For Atwood OD-5001 Water Heater
Like you mentioned, the replacement boards have been discontinued, so really the only option we can offer is a new water heater. I fully realize it's not what you are wanting to hear, but it's the best we can do to get you a working water heater. Your Atwood is an on-demand water heater and for something similar go with a tankless, the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 18" x 18" Door # FR68SR or 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR. These fit in a 12-3/4" to 12-13/16" wide x 12-5/8" to 12-3/4" tall...

  • Recommended Replacement For An Atwood G6A-8E RV Water Heater
We do carry the Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR which you could use to replace your Atwood G6A-8E 6 gal RV Water Heater, but I highly recommend switching over to a tankless system like the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater 60,000 BTU # FR98SR. This unit features a heating capacity of 13,000 - 60,000 Btu, well above that of your Atwood. It has similar dimensions at 12-5/8" L x 12-13/16" W x 19-3/16" D so you'll need to make slight alterations to your cutout hole to fill in the gap but...

  • Recommended Replacement For An Atwood GCH10A-4E RV Water Heater
With the pandemic and Dometic taking over Atwood's water heater division it has been very hard to come by replacements. My honest recommendation is to go tankless and replace your Atwood GCH10A-4E with the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater 60,000 BTU # FR98SR. This unit features a heating capacity of 13,000 - 60,000 Btu, well above that of your Atwood. It has smaller dimensions at 12-5/8" L x 12-13/16" W x 19-3/16" D so you'll need to make slight alterations to your cutout hole to fill...

  • Tankless RV Water Heater for 16 inch Wide Opening
Furrion actually has wide door kits for their tankless water heaters like part # FR98SR which is a 60k BTU unit that has the wider 16 inch door kit that you'd need. I attached a review video for more info on this for you to check out as well.

The Dometic RV Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 12 Volt - 8,800 Btu - 6 Gal Tank Item AT96121 is the direct replacement for the GC6AA-10E. Unfortunately it is out of stock with no expected restock date. Instead I recommend the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 60,000 BTU - 16" x 16" Door Item # FR98SR. Its dimensions are 19-3/16" deep x 12-5/8" tall x 12-13/16" wide. It provides 19+ gallons of hot water per hour and has a heating capacity of 13,000 to 60,000...

  • How To Wire A 12V DC Tankless Water Heater In An RV That Previously Had A 120V Water Heater
For your new tankless water heat that runs on 12V DC, such as Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 60,000 BTU - 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR, you will need to wire this to your RV 12V DC battery and it's not likely there's already any 12 volt wring near your current heater and a 12 volt heater cannot run using 120VAC I have attached a detailed installation video showing this process.

  • Best Atwood G6A-8E-SP Water Heater Replacement
Great to hear from you again, John! I'm a sucker for the tankless water heaters simply because they have a higher performance than the older tank-style water heaters so I definitely recommend going tankless. Just to give you an idea of the performance, the 60,000 Btu unit from Furrion is able to produce 144 gallons of hot water an hour without having to wait for a tank to fill up and heat up to get your hot water. The Furrion system is the best way to go and for that we have a few different...

  • Do Any Replacement RV Water Heaters Have the Motor Aid Feature
Hey Buddy, good to hear from you again! We don't have any water heaters that use the Motor Aid feature, and from my understanding that's an outdated system so you'll have a hard time locating even a used water heater with this feature. From what I was reading, this feature was designed to basically "pre-heat" the water so you wouldn't have to wait as long to get it. I like the on demand feature that provides as much or as little hot water as you need, as long as you have propane, without wasting fuel to keep water warm when it is not being used. • Recommended Replacement For A Suburban SW6 DE RV Water Heater
Hi Michael, To replace your Suburban SW6 DE water heater you'll want the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR. The dimensions I'm seeing for your Suburban show it being roughly 12-3/4" tall by 12-3/4" wide so the # FR98SR with its 16" x 16" door would be a great fit.
