I used one of the two I purchased in my 1971 W200 dodge truck its like free A/C, no not really but it helps flow air through my cab for those 9 months of stifling Florida heat an humidity. No leaks when closed. Great price. I paid 100 bucks more then a scraper paid for the truck (300) drive it almost everyday its a beater for sure but has good airflow...

Nice vent. Installed it on my camper shell for my pickup. A little hard to open and close but I think it will get easier with time. Order arrived on time.

Emily T The pop up roof vent worked great on my Honda pioneer 1000 Ill send you a picture on my cell phone Thanks Jim.

Mounted on my can am commander 1000 roof. I would mount more forward as air comes in at about 45 degree angle. Used black hex bolts so looks good. Very solidly made and helps with heat inside. I did get the inside piece to make look better, had to cut down depth which is a bit tricky but makes inside look really good.

This is a great roof vent for an enclosed trailer. Suited my needs for more ventilation perfectly. This vent is super tough and easy to install. Took me 30 minutes start to finish. Great product!

I installed this on the roof of a Polaris RZR (UTV SXS) to let in more air on those hot days and it works great, it is well made and rugged enough to withstand brush or tree limbs rubbing on it when riding a trail.

The vents I ordered are an awesome addition to my plane hauler! I fly large scale (100cc) radio control airplanes in International Miniature Airplane Model (IMAC) competitions. I needed a light weight enclosed trailer to transport my planes and equipment to competitions. After building a custom 5x8 plane hauler I realized I needed a set of high quality closable/reversible vents . Etrailer.com had just what I needed!

Very well constructed product. It is multi-directional which is very nice. Not yet installed, but it should go very smooth.

A very nice piece of equipment. It looks like the top of the moveable vent was not allowed to dry completely prior to wrapping for shipment. No matter. I am planning to sand and paint to match my truck color.

Made real good ! Got these for my truck topper keeps the dogs cool when driving. Installed 3 of them.

These vents are very well made and a bargain for how durable they are. Installation was simple - after using the gasket as a template, a drill and a jigsaw to cut the hole, and a screwdriver to mount the vents, was all that was needed. My only criticism is that the holes are big enough to let insects smaller than a honey bee into the trailer, but I mitigated that by placing a piece of fiberglass window screen into the opening as I mounted the vent (see photo). This means that I can now only operate the vents from the outside, and I made that easier by putting some white lithium grease on the friction points. My little DIY enclosed trailer will now stay cooler in the warm months with the vents allowing the hot air to escape and never having a chance to build up in the first place.

- 9106
by:

Super sturdy, exactly what I was looking for to install on the interior floor of my cargo van / camper conversion. The tall shape of this vent provided the perfect height needed to extend past my 1" thick wood flooring, and the metal construction is a nice match to the body steel that it is mounted to. I added a drawer handle to the lid to make it easier to open from the "top". Overall works perfectly for what I needed. The original item description is spot-on, and what I received was exactly what was described. Thanks for the solid unit, and the great price!

- 9106
by:

These Vents are solid steel and the mechanism is almost aircraft-quality with the actuation totally solid and precise. I cut holes in my existing car trailer vent openings and these large ovals move 2x the air. I installed one front and rear.

- 9106
by:

These installed fairly easily. I wish there had been more instructions for installation but it was easy enough to get it in correctly. There is an inner trim ring that I recommend. Opening the vent takes more effort than I was expecting and without the inner trim ring one could easily cut themselves. All in all it looks good functions as it should and doesn't leak. It just slightly hard to open.

This is a nice heavy duty product that seems like it will help cool the mowers and trimmers in my trailers. We have been having problems getting enough air into the trailers. The machines did not want to start due to being so hot, we depend on them running for 30 houses per day. I am going to mount one on each side of the top front and I have the smaller 3in hole plastic vents on the back.

RECEIVED IT TODAY AND CAN TELL YOU, THAT AT PRESENT I HAVE PLASTIC VENTS ON MY RV. THESE ARE A MAJOR STEP UP^ IT IS MADE OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION, SLIGHTLY LARGER AND AN UPGRADE IN LOOKS. I'M GONNA THROW THEM ON AFTER DINNER. ONLY COMPLAINT ON YOUR END WAS NO INSTALLATION SCREWS NO BIG DEAL, BEING OCD - I HAVE ENDLESS SUPPLIES HERE

- 9106
by:

I was incredibly pleased at how heavy and heavy duty these vents are. I've yet to install them, but I have no concerns about them holding up while going 70mph and scooping wind into my truck canopy to keep my dogs cool. I think the only thing I'm not happy about is having to crawl into the canopy to open them...but that's my design. They are stiff to open, but they are not attached to anything yet, so the leverage isn't there, and as they are used and a little lubrication, I'm sure they will be easy enough. Don't hesitate...buy them!

- 9106
by:

My husband likes the heavy construction quality. The two directional vents is a great idea. We have not installed them as of yet, so will have to continue the review. We have high hopes for these.

Comments
The vents work great. We live in Southern Oregon so deal with high temps. The vents allow heat to escape. When we pull the trailer we open the vents towards the rear, so no worries about rain or dirt entering. Install was fairly quick and easy. Would recommend product and vendor.

Plan on putting vent into top of enclosed back of Dodge Sprinter cargo van for ventlation purpose. Am using small A/C unit so will be needing intake air/warm air output release. We have 2 of these in our 2-horse trailer...They work great!!!

For all intents and purposes there really is no functional difference between the Replacement Exterior Pop-Up Roof Vent # 9106 and the Ventilator, Pop Up 2-Way Aluminum with Screen # RV-626-062. Either would work just as well as the other with the only real difference being that one is painted black and the other is aluminum. Both could be used as a top vent.

  • What is the Best Tool to Use to Cut a Hole for a Vent in an Enclosed Trailer
I was going to recommend a rotary tool but if you are having a hard time with it then maybe you will need to use a different attachment. There are different cutting bits and a sabrecut bit would allow you to not only drill a hole but cut laterally as well. The rough width of the hole will need to be 5-1/2 inches wide. If you use a hole saw like # 58381 it will provide a 3-1/2 inch diameter and you can get a pretty good start that way and then make it pretty with the rotary tool. The...

  • Can A RV Roof Vent Be Installed On The Side Of A Trailer
Absolutely! With that being said most of the roof vents like the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-04500K are not designed to be installed on the side of your trailer, and may leak if not installed on the roof. Instead I recommend the Replacement Exterior Pop-Up Roof Vent # 9106 which can be installed on the side of your trailer as you can see in the included picture. Although we don't have anything specifically designed for a Van, and RV roof vent would serve your purpose. The Fan-Tastic 12V powered roof fan, part # FV803350 would be a good choice. The powered fan is reversible so it can be used to bring in fresh air or to exhaust hot air out. The fan features a thermostatically controlled 3 speed motor. The vent doesn't include a rain shield, but it does have a rain sensor that will close it automatically if rain begins to enter the vehicle. If...

  • Replacement Vent for Sidewall of Toy Hauler
Although the # 9106 vent is primarily designed for use on the roof of a trailer, there's no reason why it couldn't be used on the sidewall. The vent is designed for a 11-1/8" long x 5-1/2" wide rough opening, so if the opening on your trailer wall is similarly sized, the vent would work well for you. An interior trim piece, part # 2756 is also available.

  • Roof Vent with Fan Recommendation for an Ambulance in Africa
I think your best option would be the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # VP-543SP. This is pretty compact and would allow you to vent the inside of your ambulance. The design of this would prevent water from coming as well. You could even run two of these. One wired up the standard way to act as an exhaust fan and then wire up the other one in reverse so that it will pull outside air in.

The vent should be installed with the mounting flange on the outside of the trailer and then use the garnish to cover up the opening you cut.
