Features to know about

Efficient Ventilation for Enclosed Trailers: 2-Piece Low-Profile Design

The 2-Piece Exterior Wall Vent offers a smart and economical solution for maintaining airflow in your enclosed trailer. It's designed with a low-profile, round interior vent and a half-moon-shaped exterior piece that seamlessly blends with your trailer's surface. The polypropylene construction ensures it withstands sun exposure while keeping unwanted elements at bay, helping to prevent heat buildup and maintaining a comfortable environment inside your trailer.

Weather-Resilient Construction: UV-Resistant Polypropylene

Constructed from black, UV-resistant polypropylene, this vent is built to stand up to harsh weather conditions and frequent sun exposure. This means it remains reliable and retains its appearance over time, ensuring your trailer stays ventilated without the need for frequent replacements or maintenance.

Tailored Fit for Optimal Airflow: Adjustable Vent Tube

The vent is designed to fit a 3-inch diameter hole and includes a vent tube that can be trimmed for customization, making it adaptable for varying wall thicknesses. This ensures that you achieve optimal ventilation efficiency, tailored exactly to your trailer's specifications.

Precision Installation: Technical Specifications and Simple Setup

Precision matters when installing trailer vents. With specs like exterior dimensions of 8" long x 6" tall x 1-1/4" thick, and an interior diameter at the flange of 4-1/8", installation is straightforward and efficient. Nine screws and sealant are suggested for secure placement, ensuring the vent stays securely in place and functions effectively.

Superior Airflow Control: Strategic Slot Design

The exterior vent features strategically placed slots on one side, allowing you to position it for maximum airflow and minimal water entry. Drain holes at the corners effectively release any water that does enter, making it a stress-free and efficient choice for trailer owners seeking ventilation solutions.

Versatile and Practical: Modular Installation Options

This vent supports multiple configurations for personalized use. Whether you need to mount it low to boost airflow for your generator or high for general air circulation, it offers flexible installation to suit your specific needs. This adaptability makes it a practical choice for a wide range of enclosed trailers.

  • Solar Powered Roof Vent for Cargo Trailer
I have a solution for you, it is a smaller fan unit but we have an item that will function in the way you are looking for. The MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent, # MA00-03851 that you linked to needs a fairly stable power supply of 12 VDC and draws slightly less than 2 amps to operate. Wiring directly to solar panel will not support this as the power will fluctuate greatly and eventually damage the electronics in the in the fan. To operate, you need a stable 12 VDC power supply from...

  • Side Wall Vent Recommendation for an Enclosed Trailer for Maximum Air Flow
Since heat rises I would at the very least put a set of the Trailer Vents # HMAV2-AVT2 near the top of the trailer to get the hottest air of the trailer out. What you could do for maximum air flow in your trailer is have a set facing forward in the front of your trailer near the bottom of the side wall and then have another set facing rearward at the top/back of the trailer. This will maximize getting cool air into the trailer and hot air out.

  • Can 2-Piece Exterior Wall Vent Be Installed On Front Of Trailer
Hey Ken; you can install the 2-Piece Exterior Wall Vent # HMAV2-AVT2 on the front of your trailer. As long as that opening is facing down you won't have any issues with rain water. It is possible some water might splash up into the opening from spray on the road or heavy rain hitting the front but that won't be a problem. The way it is designed on the inside will keep water out of the trailer and allow it to drain once you stop moving. What kind of trailer do you have?

  • Do Go Power AGM RV Batteries Need To Be Vented To The Outside
Hey Todd, The Go Power AGM RV Battery # 34276285 would need to be vented to the outside. Most of the time batteries are installed in a front storage pass through and little vents, like the # HMAV2-AVT2, can be added to a wall or compartment door to allow for air flow into the compartment. I would take come paper or cardboard and cut it down to four pieces measuring 12" long x 8-3/16" tall x 6-5/8" wide to place into your storage space and get an idea of how the batteries will need to...

  • Can Replacement Half Moon Vent Cover be Used on Front of Flat Nose Enclosed Trailer?
Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out! You can absolutely mount the Replacement Exterior Half-Moon Trailer Vent # HMAV2 at the front of a flat nosed enclosed trailer! It won't promote as good of airflow as it would if it were mounted on the side of the trailer, but it won't affect it structurally at all. If you want the whole vent assembly, then you'll need the Kit # HMAV2-AVT2. Did something fall on your trailer?

  • Will a Side Vent Help to Reduce Heat Inside a Race Car Trailer While Sitting Parked and Cl Up?
Hey Pat! What kind of race car do you have? Exterior vents like the Redline # HMAV2-AVT2 will probably help a bit with the stuffiness, but it's not going to do a ton for lowering the temp - especially when parked. Just opening up your MaxxAir roof vent will be more effective than an exterior vent. Something that will really make a difference is the Ultra-Fab Solar-Powered Plumbing Vent # UF53-945001. It's marketed for a plumbing application, but it would be perfect for your setup because...

  • Does the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent have to Be Installed Facing a Certain Direction
There isn't really a specific way that the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2 has to be mounted. You could mount it like in the pictures or in any other orientation. It's just that with the openings pointed down it is much less likely that rain water could get inside the trailer.

  • Best Vent Location To Prevent Items From Blowing Around While Providing Trailer Ventilation
When installing a product such as the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent for 3" # HMAV2-AVT2 inside the trailer, the best way to face vents to prevent items blowing around the trailer depends on the vent location. There are slots on one side of the unit, allowing you to position the vent for best airflow. I recommend installing the vents near the top of the trailer to get the hottest air of the trailer out. With the vent being installed closer to the roof of the trailer, point the slots...

  • Can the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2 Mount Facing Forward
If you mounted the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2 with the opening of the vent facing forward like a ram air hood on a car there is a better chance of it allowing water through it. If there is any way to mount it like in the picture I attached that we got from a customer you would be better off. That being said, most hood scoops that are small like the part # HMAV2-AVT2 actually don't get a lot of direct airflow at highway speeds because the wind deflects off the top of...

Yes, you can mount the Redline 2-Piece Roof Vent, # 9139, on the front side of your cargo trailer. You will want to mount this vent with the vent slots facing down to prevent rain water or other elements from getting into the trailer. If you are looking for vents for the front side of your trailer, then I would recommend the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent, # HMAV2-AVT2. This vent is designed specifically for the sides of trailers and is an inexpensive option that is also available...

The Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent with 12V Fan # VP-543SP is not going to be completely rain proof (no roof top vent will be), because they need to be open somewhat, as you can see in the accompanying photo a customer sent in of this vent installed. Though I do recommend closing this vent in the rain, you can add ventilation by installing a vent on the sides of your van. A 3" diameter vent hole is very common for enclosed trailers. I suggest you first completely remove old vent material and measure the opening. If you do have a 3" diameter hole, my recommendation is the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent for 3" vent holes, # HMAV2-AVT2. This 2-piece vent provides a great way to ventilate your enclosed trailer. If you mount the Redline 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # WHMAV2-WAVT2 with the exterior part's flat slotted side facing forward (to increase air flow) there will definitely be a greater probability for rain and splashed water to enter the trailer. Still, as you noted from the customer-submitted photos we show on that item's page some have done this, and surely for the same reason. • How Should Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2 Be Installed and Will it Keep Out Water
The short answer is nothing prevents water from going into vent # HMAV2-AVT2. If you have the opening facing down some water may trickle in at higher speeds but it would not be like a continuous misty spray. I believe that the way you want to install these vents would work well, especially considering that you will also be adding a roof vent. • Recommended Vent Setup to Cool Enclosed Trailer Mobile Workshop
Even the smallest RV air conditioning units we offer will require 115-volt AC electrical service of at least 11-amps to operate properly. The Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner will draw almost 4000-watts at startup and even once running it will still need close to 1300-watts to operate. Delivering this amount of power via high capacity 12V batteries and an inverter such as the 5000-watt Go Power # 34280179 will be a fairly costly and bulky proposition. Instead what I recommend...

The JR Products Mushroom Vent # 37202-29115 will do a great job keeping out water in a horizontal application. In the vertical position, the mushroom lid would not keep out water as intended, and it would likely admit water into the interior of the vehicle. Also in a vertical application, especially the side of a camper, crosswinds may cause the lid to come loose from the base much too easily. Instead I suggest you take a look at the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent # HMAV2-AVT2, as...

  • Wall Vent Recommendation for Enclosed Trailer
The largest side wall vent we have for trailers is 3 inch diameter like the part # HMAV2-AVT2 that you referenced. These do an excellent job venting out hot air in enclosed trailers. I'd install them higher on the walls since hot air rises and probably at the back of the trailer. I'd start with maybe two and see if you like how they perform and add more if you need it. For most people just a pair of these is all that's needed. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Can I Install My MaxxAir Roof Vent On The Wall Instead of Roof
The MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift part # MA00-04401M can be installed vertically on a wall as long as it is not exposed to much water (like you mention) and the wall has to be at least 1" thick. Installing it this way makes it easier for water to leak in but as long as you use sealant you shouldn't have an issue.
