The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.
The white dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.
The 12-volt, variable-speed fan operates in manual mode. You can choose from 4 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed.
This fan also exhausts stale air out of your RV. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.
The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.
The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to operate the fan, including turning the fan on or off. You can also control the fan speed.
The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, and it is translucent so that some natural light can shine through. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.
Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.
And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.
This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.
The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.
To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

Ceiling fan mode circulates air when vent is closed.Great fan, but now wish I had sprung for one that reverses as well. It's quiet, and I modified the inside bezel with LED lights so easy to incorporate. I installed it to the side of the camper because the camper had a ridge running down the middle and I didnt want to deal with shims and blocks. Works great!
Have one of these on my other motorhome. Works great!
Service from your company is excellent! I paid $10 more
than a competitor of yours because I prefer working with you.
After many months of fretting over cutting into the roof of my new van, and waiting for the rainy season to end, I found the installation very easy, and the operation is great. We're currently on a road trip, and the MaxxAir has made camping much more comfortable, and it even improves air circulation while driving with the vent open. it's very quiet at low speed and no leaks in even the heaviest rain.
We are converting a school bus into a camper so a MaxxFan was necessary to keep things cool. I was very pleased to find this website as the prices are significantly lower than most. Ease of ordering & shipping was terrific. I needed the product here by the weekend so I paid a little extra to get it here & it arrived on time. We did install the fan & so far seems to be working as expected, my only complaint was the instructions. They send a variety of screws, however they don't detail which screws are to be used on which part. By the time we realized, we had already installed part of it with a special sealant & it couldn't be removed. I had to go to the store to purchase 4 screws! It's a minor thing & has already been resolved, but a little better detail would be nice. Overall I would recommend this fan & etrailer.com
I’m happy that eTrailer offers RV components. This unit has performed well and kept my travel trailer cooler than the puny stock fan. Quick shipment and delivery, and confidence in their customer service are why I shop eTrailer first.
Very pleased! etrailer's pricing (price match), communication, delivery and follow up were excellent. The MaxxFan Deluxe was delivered promptly and installation was relatively easy given the comprehensive instructions included and watching a couple of [online] videos specific to my 1992 Roadtrek 210 Popular model and roofing. Would definitely buy again through etrailer.com
Not much use yet.
Just installed. Installation was straight forward.
Fan a little noisy at high setting.
As always, customer service is great!
I used to have a Fan-tastic fan, but it leaked when partially opened and it was raining. So I upgraded to the MaxxFan 5301K. It is very low profile and streamlined, and the integrated rain shield is such a clever and useful feature. It fit exactly in the 14 " x 14" opening that I cut for my Fan-tastic fan, and it only took me an hour to change it out. I REALLY like this product!
I have had the MaxxFan for about a year now and it is great. The installation was very easy and only took me about 2 hours to complete. The hardest part was getting the old Dicor calking removed from the old fan. The amount of airflow is greatly improved with this fan. Even on the lowest setting, (which only draws .1 amps) it is close to what the old fan drew. When you crank it up to the highest setting the draw is almost to much.
The ability to continue to use the fan even in the rain is also very nice. On a warm rainy night leaving the fan on low to get nice airflow through the camper keeps it from getting wet and sticky inside.
The only issue is that sometimes on low there will be a slight high pitched squeak from the fan. It doesn't always happen but it is noticeable when it does.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.
Just installed the Maxxfan Deluxe. Install was as advertised and a piece of cake. Excellent service from the folks at etrailer as usual. Can’t comment on the unit’s longevity yet but will report back if it fails. Otherwise assume the best.
Nice fan; I like that it keeps rain out while still being open. Much better than the large covers that go over the whole fan assembly.
My main issue is the push-button controls. One button controls the ON function and fan speed by pushing it multiple times. The other is OFF. The buttons feel the same, so you can't distinguish them in the dark. I miss the knob on our old fans (we replaced two fans).
Also, one of the fans squeaks a bit. Not really bothersome, but not silent even on the slowest speed.
This is my second one. The 1st one the motor went out or the board was going bad. It would run for 5-10 seconds and kick-off. Rather than chance replacing a $XXX motor (come on really? Why so expensive). I opted to buy a new unit altogether. I have the smoked one but it is so hot in the summer, that I opted for a white one this time. That being said etrailer shipping was very quick to the east coast and the previous fan worked awesome. I hope I get more than two years out of this one. I get etrailer and the fan 5 stars but I can only give 4 stars due to the high replacement part cost. Even at $XX for the motor everyone could make money and I could have fixed my old unit.
I love these vent fans, they are quiet and move a high volume of air.
Had hoped it would be "whisper quiet" but does move the air.
Hope the "rain proof" advertising about this fan proves out.
Now how long will it last?
This unit replaced a 20-year-old bathroom single speed similar to item code: V3094-601-00. This fan can really move the steamy shower air out in a hurry. Our stay was nearly two months in an RV park and the MaxxFan cover also protected the interior from the many unexpected short downpours that are common in many eastern states. The fan was often left running on one of the two slower speeds throughout the night providing some air movement in the motorhome. This fan was a definite worthwhile bathroom fan upgrade.
I used this fan to replace my existing tiny bathroom fan. Now I have a fan that can pull air through the whole trailer on those cool nights when you want to have the windows open.
Decided to try the delux fan on my current lance camper. I installed a Maxxfan plus on the last camper, but wanted one with an integrated vent cover instead of needing an extra piece. The lower roof profile is a big plus for me with this fan. Very easy install just like other Maxxfan units. The fan is quiet and pulls a lot of air.
Great fan, simple ,but does the job. Very effective at removing odors and circulating fresh air. Variable RPMs on fan blades make for low or higher battery draw when boondocking. I own higher tech Maxx Fan with handheld remote in my other RV, but that has been a problem. I'll take this one....that's reliable.
I really like the vent and the service has been good. Thanks!
This perfectly replaced a non-fan vent in the bedroom of my ‘15 Four Winds 26A. The opening conveniently already had power running to it so installation was straightforward. We spent multiple nights this summer with this fan creating a great breeze through the open bedroom windows.
Love the upgrade after using it for over 4 months now. We actually move air in the RV versus the stock fan. The installation went well and the videos on etrailer made it incredibly easy. Even for me.
Doing a van build, this is exactly what I needed at the right price. provided good phone support too!
Thank you for fast shipping and following though. I have oder a couple time from you and have had no problems. I'll spend my money here again.
Excellent service, delivery time, and quality product. My go to company for most everything related to RVs and vehicles.
Super easy install. I replaced an ez lift vent in my jayco 174BH bathroom with this fan. Installed quickly and I could easily tie into the power at a nearby ceiling light. Four speeds are sufficient. Heading out camping soon so will get a good feel for how it works in real world conditions.
