The Silent Hitch Pin from Let's Go Aero takes the rattle and play out of the connection between your trailer hitch and your ball mount or hitch accessory. The unique design features a sturdy steel block with an attached spring that sits inside the shank of your hitch-mounted accessory.
Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin with a wrench (sold separately) to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.
The 90 degree, barrel-style lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. Two round, rubber-coated keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

This is the best no rattle from the hitch and stays tight. I put about 700 miles on towing the race trailer with the sxs in it and no slap from the hitch when taking off or braking

There wasn’t enough room on my Curt hitch to use this quite pin to secure my RoadMaster spare tire carrier. I used the bolt pin that came with the carrier and will install a separate lock on it.
However this silent pin will do nicely on the cargo carrier I will install on the RoadMaster spare tire carrier hitch.

We sold that RV in February to get a one with more storage however for more than 10,000 miles of bumping down the road the Curt hitch performed flawlessly.

Well by the looks and handling of this product it looks durable. It didn't fit my application so I can't really give it a rating. I purchased this lock for Thule bike rack, but the rack has a threaded insert for a bolt to hold in place inside the receiver. This lock pin is thicker than the bolt. It's not the products fault at all. This is mainly operator error lol. I didn't pay attention to that when purchased. By the way, if anyone has info on another locking pin for that Thule rack I will greatly appreciate it.

I have ordered and used this device before. What is disgraceful is the respect shown toward products shipped from etrailer. While the two devices/parts I ordered probably could have through a war zone without any damage, the fact is IF they are beaten out of the box while in shipping is not right. Add some appropriate packing. Grade F on your packaging.

Installed on a 2021 F150 with a 2 inch hitch.
Installed easily and only took 5 minutes. Eliminated the
slop between the ball mount and the receiver tube. Helped to reduce rattles.

This is bitter-sweet review. This device is excellent because it keeps my accessory from rattling or making any noise at all. Unfortunately, I can't use it because I can't lock it. And the reason I can't lock it is that I have a roundtube hitch on my vehicle, and cannot turn the key on this device because the round tube prevents clearance. And that is because the key/lock on this device is perpendicular to the device. So I am having to buy a replacement anti-rattle hitch lock which is straight, so that the key/lock is parallel to the device. I have ordered the stainless steel locking, anti-rattle threaded hitch pin, part #SR25219 to try instead. If you do not have a round tube hitch, though, and the key can make clearance of the hitch, I highly recommend this item #63232, because it truly stops all rattle and all noise.

The OD of the pin in the anti-rattle hitch receiver is too large for the holes drilled in the portion of the big bed adapter that goes into the hitch. I'm going to have to drill out the adapter to accommodate the pin. I can't believe that no one checked this before listing these products as being compatible.

I purchased this device as a way to reduce slack in the etrailer 1.25" adapter for my 2" receiver hitch & also for the locking capability since the adapter ships with just a standard pin & clip.
The device was easy to install in the adapter & works quite well. My issue was that since I use my receiver hitch for a bike rack, the internal nut prevented the tongue of the rack from being inserted far enough to snap the retainer pin in the adapter. I can, however, still use the locking device by simply removing the retaining nut from inside the adapter which allows me to fully install my bike rack.

I purchased this for use on my 2017 VW Alltrack with an Ecohitch 2 in receiver. I have a Thule T2 Classic bike rack with a 1-1/4 inch shank and didn't want to purchase the replacement shank. I instead purchased # HT02 to allow the receiver to accept the smaller 1-1/4 and # 63232 to stabilize the rack and stop the rattle.
The combination is perfect. # 63232 acts as both an anti-rattle device, as well as a hitch lock. Installation took 5 minutes and was super straightforward. Because the pin is threaded, be sure to use a torque wrench to not accidentally over-torque the pin and strip the threads or just tighten until the rattle stops.

A year in and the the Lets Go Aero Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock still does its job. The only issue that Ive run into is that I am unable to remove it from my hitch. The tubular metal sleeve that fits around the lock pin seems to have rusted itself locked. I havent been able to remove it and cannot remove my hitch rack as a result.

I have had this year now, and it works great. It’s quiet and there’s no rattling. I’ve definitely learned that if you have to fight it, it’s not lined up properly. Everything should work with just your hand and no tools.

I've had this for a year and like the hitch not rattling. Most of the pin has held up well except for the sleeve that slips over the narrower 'lock' end of the pin to fit it properly in the receiver hole. It holds water against the pin and causes undue rusting of the pin and sleeve. Have cleaned up the pin and sleeve and packed it with axle grease to keep water out and will watch to see if that helps. Stainless would be better since the chromed model hasn't held up well to road salts.

It’s been one year. We’ve traveled 10,000 miles with it. Literally coast to coast. Great space saver so we can take our dog and she’s not cramped. It’s showing no signs of deteriorating. We’re very happy.

Good idea but I stopped using this after the spring got jammed in the receiver tube several times. It also requires re-tightening frequently.

The spring compresses the nut into the receiver wall to eliminate rattle and can be tricky to remove if it’s in pretty deep. I usually use a screwdriver to push the spring out of the receiver if I need to remove the spring nut. You may want to check their receiver for anything that may be snagging the spring. If your pin is constantly needing to be tightened, then you are towing heavier loads that are applying more weight onto the receiver, paired with road vibrations to loosen the pin. In this case the manufacturer is willing to provide you with a heavier duty split ring washer that will provide a tighter grip on the pin. This should not be a problem anymore once you install the new split ring washer.

The construction and quality of material used in the product is excellent. The pin eliminated the lateral rattle entirely however there remained some vertical movement and rattle.

A bit on the pricey side, but does what it advertises. Happy with the product after using on a few camping trips. I have this cargo carrier: http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Cargo-Carrier/Pro-Series/63153.html. We load it down with hundreds of pounds of camping equipment and use the hitch lock to secure it from moving. We also camp in the backcountry using poor access roads at times and the lock keeps the heavy loads from shifting on uneven terrain. I would recommend this product to anyone that is using either a bike rack or cargo carrier and is trying to reduce movement of the accessory.

- Lubricating a Locking Hitch PinFor lubricating any lock, a dry lubricant like powdered graphite is recommended. Using grease and oil or spray lubricants like WD 40 can actually attract dirt and grime and make the lock cylinder sticky after a time.
