Hello Russell,
Happy to get you the right tow package for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
- Hitch: etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98901
- Wiring: T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727. The # 118727 will put the 4 flat on the back which is great if you are towing a trailer without brakes, if you are going to be towing a trailer with brakes you will need to build on top of the # 118727 by installing the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 is a little more work to install, you will need to run a power line from your battery to the rear with a couple of amps along the way, and the brake wire from the front to the rear as well. You will also need # 18136 for attaching the 7 way to the hitch.
- Ball Mount: etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2" Hitch - 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # e67DR, I really like how our hitch ball comes in a black nickel plating, gives it a nice sleek design. Our ball mount comes with a hitch pin and clip, but if you wanted to keep things secure and little more quiet I would go with the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232.
- Brake Controller: If you are towing a trailer with brakes it is most important to have a brake controller to control those brakes. I really like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR, the knob that gets installed on your dash makes it easy to adjust the brakes, and having that manual override at arms reach is great when you need it. If you have one of those empty spots in the dash, you can use a Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob # 331-TPSI-001 to install the knob.
*Since your vehicle does not have the factory tow package you will need to splice in the brake controller. I am showing that your OEM brake wire is not usable, so you will also need to install the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000.
What are you looking to tow with your Jeep?
