So far so good. Needed this extension to give a new Hollywood Racks Destination E clearance from the spare tire. It also gives enough clearance so that with the rack tilted, the rear doors of the van can open sufficiently for emergency exit as well as enough access from the rear. The extension seems very stabile after tightening. When carrying bikes, I plan to use ratchet straps from the rack to the door hinges due to the tongue weight reduction from the extension.

The receiver portion is not milled out sufficiently for the bike rack to slip in. It's way too tight and i needed to use a rubber mallet to force it in. Getting it out is impossible. The other end with the anti wobble pin slipped in my receiver fine and the anti wobble works great.

After a year, the extender is still working great with no issues. Ive used on my RV for multiple long trips and its still works as expected. Its something I dont have to think or worry about, it just does what its supposed to do. Very happy with it.

Excellent extender! It has the wedge/ball that expands into the receiver creating a rock solid fit. I have the Kuat bike rack with 2 Trek e-bikes and this is just what we needed. It clears the sore tire on our jeep without sacrificing support and strength.

Works great! Gets my bike rack out past the spare tire. I also use an anti-rattle bracket with it so it is absolutely solid with no movement. This is not entirely necessary but it gives me even more peace of mind to no there is no movement. That being said the locking device on this hitch extender is excellent. Highly recommend!

This hitch extension gives me easy access to the cargo section of my truck by allowing me to open the tailgate completely.
I called customer service and asked why the prices difference in the 3 models, and which she would recommend. She said the most expensive model had a great anti-rattle device and based on that, I ordered it. Very impressed with it. Actually feels like its part of the frame!

Special thanks to Madison for helping me out in a pinch. I needed this extender overnight and she made sure that I got it in time. As for the extender, its exactly what I was hoping it would be and more. Not only does the threaded hitch pin lock the extender in place from side to side, the ball bearing locks it into place from top to bottom; AND the receiving end of the hitch is double-walled for added strength. I am very impressed with the quality of the Rocky Mounts hitch extender. FYI - I used this to extend the bike rack past the over-sized spare (35") on my 2016 Jeep. Adding 2 pics to show. We bought this so our bike rack would be far enough back on our 5th wheel camper hitch so the bikes wouldn't hit the camper or back windows. We took it from the US East Coast all the way through the US, Western Canada, Alaska, and back on a 7th month trip and it worked perfectly. Those that have driven the Al/Can Highway can attest to the worst roads because of the frozen tundra frost heaves, so it's definitely a sturdy hitch.

This extender increased the clearance between spare tire and bike rack allowing transport of my two bikes on my travel trailer. Solid connection and pleased with purchase. No issues. Lock seems to be good quality. Will be taking off this week for first time in 10months to inspect. Do not expect any issues.

Hey Steve! I am going to give you a couple of options, because I don't know how far back your hitch pin hole is from the edge of your spare tire. The closest part of the RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack item # RKY10002 is 7", from the hitch pin hole, when folded up. What you'll need to do is measure from your Bronco's hitch pin hole to the edge of your spare tire and subtract 6". Hi Andy; what exactly do you mean by common extensions are slightly larger than will fit? Based on the vehicle I would assume it would have a 2" receiver on the hitch. Hello Tien, thanks for reaching out. I went and grabbed one of the RockyMounts Hitch Extenders # RKY10011 from our warehouse and I measured the hitch pin. With the key inserted it is about 6-1/4" long. The key itself is about 1-7/8" long. Without the key inserted, the lock it about 5-1/5" long. I hope this helps. Are you using this for a bike rack? I have a solution for you to extend the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes Y36FR further out from your Arctic Fox 5th wheel RV but I think it's at least worth noting 2 things; the weight capacity of your trailer hitch will be cut in half when using the extension (like you said) and that the OnRamp isn't rated for use at the back of a 5th wheel as Yakima states there is too much movement so the rack can't handle it....
