An illustration shows the eleven inch clearance level needed between the ground and B and W Tow and Stow hitch.

Note: To avoid the Tow & Stow hitting steep driveways or curbs, we recommend at least 11" of clearance between the ground and the lowest point of the drop hitch, as seen above.

The B&W Tow & Stow adjustable ball mount lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights. Having both a 2" ball and a 2-5/16" ball allows for even more versatility, making this the ultimate go-to ball mount if you own multiple trailers.

Easily Adjusts and Stows

B&W Tow & Stow Ball Mount Operation

To switch the hitch ball, simply remove the pin holding the balls in place and rotate the entire block that the balls are mounted on until the ball you want to use is on top. Then replace the pin to secure the block in place.

Adjusting the height of the ball is just as easy. Remove the pins holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down along the shank to the desired position. Once you have found the correct height, reinsert the pins and replace the clips.

When you're not towing, you can flip the ball mount platform around and stow it beneath your hitch so that you won't bang your shins. Just remove the pins to slide the ball platform down along the channel and up the back side so that the hitch balls face towards your vehicle. Then replace the pins.

Built-In Anti-Theft System

The Tow & Stow ball mount features a channel that runs along both sides of the shank. This channel not only allows you to slide the ball mount platform up and down to adjust the ball height, but it also prevents removal of the platform when the ball mount is installed, which will help prevent theft of your trailer.

Single Dimensions

A slot is cut into the adjustment channel near the top of the shank. To remove the ball mount platform from the shank you will need to remove the entire ball mount from your hitch. Then remove the pins that hold the platform in place. Flip the platform around to the stowed position on the rear of the shank, and then slide it up until the center pin lines up with the slot in the shank. Pull the platform out towards the rear of the shank until the pin pops out of the adjustment channel.

When the Tow & Stow is secured in your hitch receiver, you will not be able to remove the ball mount platform. This is because the slot in the shank is positioned in such a way that the collar on your hitch will block the pin on the platform from being able to leave the channel. Even if the pins holding the ball mount platform in place are removed, the platform will still be confined to this channel. So, as long as a hitch lock is used to secure the entire ball mount in your hitch receiver, and a coupler lock is used to prevent your trailer's coupler from being disengaged from the ball, your trailer will be secure.

etrailer went above and beyond. I had originally ordered a different item by mistake. I called in . They picked up right away. They cancelled the old order and placed a new order refunded my account within minutes and shipped the new order the same day. I received the new hitch with in two days. Excellent service. The also made sure everything was going to fit and it did, perfectly! Will definitely be ordering from etrailer next time.

Really happy with the adjustability on this sturdy hitch. I love how it tucks away. I bought some extra pins to throw in the glove box just in case. I paired this with a Bolt hitch lock.

Bulletproof hitch. Still looks like new after multiple uses. Stow feature is an outstanding feature. Highly recommend. Would definitely buy again.

Fantastic price on an item I shopped around for. On top of being priced well, the customer support was very good. My order was upgraded to faster shipping for free and the communication was great.

I would buy again and would recommend to friends.

by:

have several of these fine hitches. always a great addition to your towing package

by:

Best hitch available in my opinion I've towed with nearly all of them. This is the third B&W Stow & Go hitch I have owned. No slack or play transferring between truck & towed trailer. Rarely need to remove hitch from receiver in truck. Can flip it under bumper when I go thru auto wash between towing trailers (automatic wash rollers don't play well with ball hitches past bumpers). I Have learned that I must occasionally clean & lube the stainless steel pins or they will start to seize into carbon steel holes. That's the only improvement I might suggest (possibly Stainless sleeves in carbon holes). Other than that well built strong hitch.

by:

I just received this but can tell very well built!

by:

The B&W stow has been great. In fact a few friends and my son in law have made the purchase as well. Great product.

by:

A perfect hitch!! I have two trailers with 2 different size hitch balls. This is the perfect hitch. And the hideaway feature is great. No more busted shins!!

by:

So far so good! Fit and finish are top notch and it works perfect for my purposes.

by:

A great hitch. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for some height adjustment as well as the piece of mind that it is one piece (ie, the hitch does not fall apart when you pull the pins). High quality build. Its been in and out of water (towing a boat) and no rust. Great job B&W.

We recommend using an anti-rattle setup like the part # 63232 which tightens the ball mount shank to the hitch tube and really takes out the movement. It also doubles as a hitch lock as well.

by:

Perfect, should of got one sooner

by:

My second B&W stowaway that I have bought, have them on both of my business trucks, absolutely love them, I think they are the best money can buy, MADE IN USA! No more changing hitches, fully adjustable for different trailer heights, great product!

Purchased for 2011 Toyota Tundra crew max 4x4 all stock wheels and suspension. It’s the best match for my truck. I went with the 5” drop model initially, but after installing it I realized my error in never needing that big of a drop. When matched to my trailers I would never be lower than 2” and having that extra 3+” of shank length really creates the potential to snag it on a sloped drive or curb. Per BW guide, they suggest 11” clearance and I was at 9” and that was without any load on it. So just a word of advice to fellow Tundra owners, unless yours is lifted considerably.

So the 3” drop version, as well as the 5”, is manufactured beautifully. It looks great and it is a substantial piece of metal. Functional it is genius!

The pins for the ball mount have spring clip pins and that would be my only area I will likely change out to a locking system. Simply to avoid losing one of those clips.

I spoke with Sherry at e-trailer for my return and she was extremely helpful. As well, I talked with BW directly and they were equally as wonderful to speak to. I could not be happier with my purchase or the vendor or the manufacturer.

by:

Arrived on Time, and in good condition.
Exactly
what I expected.
Thanks for your great service!!

by:

This is a versatile hitch. It could fit the receiver better…seems to be quite a bit of “slop”. I also wish it as a bit longer between the pin hole and the head. I run a Rock Tamer rock deflector and can’t install a clamp to tighten up the hitch to the receiver. I have installed the available B&W rubber gasket. It makes the hitch move less but due to its thickness, makes for difficult install and removal.

by:

Great products, easy to compare and research. I learn something every time I go onto Etrailer.com

by:

I really like the BW tow & stow drawbar. The two ball arrangement fits all 4 of my trailers.
Stowed away under the bumper I never bust a shin or trip over it.
Keep the pins greased Wirth some white lube and this thing works great.

by:

Beautifully made, but heavy. I bought if for use hauling my tandem axle/Polaris UTV, and for occasional use hauling rental equipment which comes on different trailers and can require a 2 5/16" ball (... and because it is made in USA). But after hauling that Polaris yesterday with my new-to-me Tundra for 1st time I found out two things; my old 6000lb ball receiver levels the tandem trailer nicely; and that new Tundra isn't shy about the gas. I'm not sure I want to carry this hitch around unless I really need the flexibility it offers.
That said; if you're a contractor hauling different trailers every day of week, this is the hitch for you. If you only occasionally haul a different trailer or need the different drops/rises; you may do better with a dedicated, single ball carrier.
PS; these are available in Chrome plated as well; more expensive but they are sharp looking. I got this one only because the chrome version wouldn't ship for a month at time I ordered.

by:

We bought this one year ago. Granted we live in Minnesota, with salt put down in the winter, but it was NOT suppose to rust and it was to with stand all elements. I have pictures of all the pins rusted, ball hitch starting to rust and we have to take a hammer and punch to get pins out. We haul fish houses and trailers all year long. I was hoping with your product we would not have to go through this again.

by:

I had purchased a B&W hitch several years ago when I bought my 08' F450. In 13' I purchased an F350 and purchased another B&W hitch. When I went to the local marine store to purchase a hitch for the 16' F250, I was informed that they did not carry the hitch in their store anymore. The clerk there tried to sell me a different style ball hitch, but I knew I wanted a B&W swivel ball hitch. I turned to the Internet and found etrailer.com and ordered the hitch. I am pleased with the service and comfort of using this hitch. Thanks Dean

by:

This thing is stout. Really like it. I bought locks because I’ve had my trailer messed with before at boat ramps. That being said the locks are a little snugger then the pins. One hole is tighter then the others. Probably too much powder coat. I recommend locks though. Hate to be stranded at a ramp because somebody decided they needed a pin more then you. But overall it’s well made and a really good design and idea

  • How to Determine Proper Ball Mount Drop for Lifted Truck on 35 Inch Tires
Given your description, you'll need a ball mount with a pretty considerable drop. • How Can I Tell What Rise/Drop I Need for My B&W Tow & Stow?
When determining what rise/drop to use on a B&W Tow & Stow, it is important that your trailer connection is as level as possible. The first thing you need to do is measure the height of your hitch receiver from level ground to the top inner tube of the receiver opening. The next step of the process is to measure from level ground to the bottom of the coupler or shank of the item you wish to tow.
