Question:

I am going to purchase the Roadmaster RM-2050-1 tow dolly to tow my 2017 MINI Cooper convertible about 3,000 pounds behind my motor home that tows 5,000 pounds, and Id like to use this to include a bike rack and bike. Is this the right part? Thank you!

Based on your owners manual it does appear you can dolly tow your 2019 Mini Cooper Automatic with the front wheels off the ground but I recommend checking with your dealer for distance or speed restrictions because the owners manual only references emergency towing and gives both a speed and distance restriction of 30 miles and 30 mph with no reasoning behind those restrictions.

If you find you are able to tow dolly a 2019 Mini Cooper S, then the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1 will work well and no further lighting will be required. You will however need to use the Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Trailer End # PK12706 to complete the wiring of the dolly. I've attached an article to assist with that and have also attached some videos to assist.

It shouldn't scrape loading and unloading it, but we haven't tested your specific vehicle so we can't give a definite for this or for the ground clearance at the rear. It hasn't been an issue with similar vehicles, but this is a different model so I simply cannot confirm.

The MaxxTow Ball Mount w/ 2" Accessory Receiver - 2" Hitches - 2-1/4" Drop - 5,000 lbs # MT70066 will work well with the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1 and an RV rated bike rack for your 2017 Mini Cooper Convertible. I've attached a link to all your motorhome options to assist. You will need a 2 inch hitch ball like # 63845 as well as an anti-rattle hitch lock like # 63232 for this application. You will need to connect your tow dolly before installing the bike rack when using this ball mount.

Im looking to tow a 2016 MINI Cooper S 2-Door Hatchback FWD on a Roadmaster dolly behind my Unity Leisure Sprinter. We would like to have our bikes on the hitch also. Is it ok to tow a MINI? and if so what accessories would you recomend? Thank you

From what I could find it does appear that your 2016 MINI Cooper S can be towed on a dolly, although I still recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual just to be sure. I actually really like the Demco Kar Kaddy # DM9713046 because it features surge brakes that prevent you from having to add a brake controller in the RV.
