Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a look at this trailer hitch receiver lock for your three inch hitch. This flush-style trailer hitch receiver lock is designed for your three inch trailer hitch receiver, and it's used in place of your standard pin and clip to prevent theft of your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory. So you're gonna be able to secure your bike rack, your cargo carrier, your hitch cover, and a whole lot more to your three inch trailer hitch receiver. You are going to receive two keyed-alike keys. And let me just give you a brief demonstration of how this is going to work.
The tube key lock cylinder is going to give you better security than your standard key mechanisms. It's harder to pick and it's going to resist drilling. And it's gonna be more difficult to duplicate the keys. So this key locking mechanism is spring loaded, as you can see, so you're just gonna turn that key. Then when you let go, it's going to snap back.
And so as you can see, I do have it unlocked, I have the pin removed. The pin diameter is 5/8 of an inch. And then what's nice about this is you do not need the key inserted into the lock to lock the pin back into place. Just simply push it back into place and you are good to go. So very easy to use.
Again, turn the key and pull that pin out, take the key out. Then when you're ready to lock back up, just push that pin in, and you are locked into place. So I really like the fact that you do not need the key inserted into the lock to replace that pin. This does feature this weather-resistant plastic dust cap that's going to keep that cylinder free from water and debris. This feels like it does have a good construction, high-quality materials, and pretty heavy-duty.
Now this stainless steel construction is going to give you that superior durability and corrosion resistance. And I measured the inside pin length here, and we we're sitting right at about 3 1/8 inches. And the overall length from end to end is right at about 8 1/4 inches.
