What's up everybody it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna checking out the Malone Anti-Rattle HitchLock device. And what this is gonna do is just gonna go on your ball mount or the shank of a bike rag, or even a cargo carrier. And it helps stabilizes it. So you can see right here with this ball mount moves around a whole bunch. Once I install that, that movement's gonna be gone.
Let's check it out. So with just the pin in let see how much movement we have in our ball mount. And so I'm gonna show you how to fix that and then install our device. So you're gonna take the Anti-Rattle plate here the flat part's gonna sit at the bottom of the hitch and the part that's angled up will push up on the ball mount push it in to place once we tighten it down. So let's drop our U-bolt through.
Then we'll put our flat washer, lock washer, and nut at the bottom. And we're gonna do that on both of them. So we're gonna get hand tight to help hold it on there. I'll do the same thing On the other side. Come back with a ratchet.
You continue to tighten it down. Let you do it evenly. Go back and forth. You don't wanna do one. Tighten one way more than the other.
Looks pretty good right there. Now I'm gonna shake the whole vehicle back and forth. You see there's no rattling or movement whatsoever in the ball mount. Now with that installed, that was just an easy way to show you how it takes the movement out of the ball mount with it, the you bolt here pulling down and this pushing up against there at the same time it takes all that movement out of there. Malone says that you can put it upside down if you need to for clearance issues. So we did that here on my hitch, and it actually seems like it got a little bit more behind the hitch. So it seems like it might work better for me this way. So that is an option. If you have clearance issues like I did. So the safety chain loops kind of get away at the bottom. So that full plate can't go all the way back. This one seems a little more sturdy. Now I threw a cargo carrier in the hitch, just to see, this has got a lot of movement up and down so that Anti-Rattle pin's in there. It does not move side to side at all, but that up and down we're gonna try and take care of it by adding that device on there. But first, we're gonna drive around the parking lot and see how bad it looks before we install it. Now we've shown it on a two inch hitch with a two inch cargo carrier and a two inch ball mount, but it can also work with inch and a quarter. So if that's your hitch size and that's accessory you would use it for, you can use it with that too. With installed on the cargo care. It worked out really well. There's not a lot of movement up and down. It really stabilized it. You could definitely see it when we we're going down the bumps. I think it's gonna be nice for any of those accessories. Like the ball mount, , even a bike rack. You just want a little more stability. You don't like that up and down movement. It's gonna help eliminate that. And, it's really easy to install and take back off. It's not a permanent thing. You just make sure to have a ratchet to tighten it down. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. Hope This helped..
Easy to use, works great.
If you have limited ground clearance at the hitch (like we do, we tow with a Toyota Sienna minivan), install the nuts on top, the "U" part of the bar below.
Also, be sure to grease the threads during installation; a lot of road crud is kicked up onto the hitch.
This product works wonderfully. Easy to install, and completely stopped my hitch rattle.!! I would recommend it to anyone that has that frustrating rattle issue.
Easy to install, no more rattle. Thank you ETrailer for a quick solution to an annoying problem.

Still works as well as the day I first installed it.
Took all the slop out of camper receiver hitch step.
Absolutely does what it says. Just bought a 2023 F-150 and my rattling hitch was driving me crazy! This even stopped the ramming when pulling my Z-8 Nitro LOVE IT and the super nice people at Etrailers
Definitely mount it upside down as noted in other people's comments, otherwise it will scrape on pavement when making steep transitions at parking lot entrances--the threaded tips got scrapped up making it too difficult to remove the nuts. Honestly, when the cargo carrier is fully loaded, you probably won't notice much rattling with or without this anyway because of the force on hitch.
Easily took the slack out of a ridiculously heavy anti-sway hitch head on my '24 Canyon.
I put the trailer hitch "tightener" on my distribution hitch that had a lot of movement, the slight 1/16 in movement left/ right /up/ down made a lot of noise and contributed to my trailer swaying. Once I installed it, in under ten minutes, I could not budge the hitch at all making for a nice tight fit, no noise, no added sway. I highly recommend this for anyone hauling heavy trailers for any distance.

It still works great, I never take the hitch off my truck so I do have to check the nuts before towing, but still no shifting of the trailer at all
Very happy with the Anti -Rattle HitchLock! Can’t believe what a difference without the constant clunking noise!
Easy install, under 5 minutes, and works as advertised. Delivered within 48 hours. Great customer service.
,This did not work because the ball mount is too short away from the hitch receiver.
Fit well, was easy to install and performed as expected. Would buy again.

So happy to hear that, Ray! Thanks for ordering with us. :)
Works Ok but not great--cannot tighten enough on a 1.25 inch hitch and still allows too much movement and rattle.
Great product, works well

Great, so glad I purchased it from E-trailer
Works well. After about a year of use, no issues. Using a thread locker of some type is suggested.
Awesome product. Thx

Its been great. No issues.
Great price, great instructions and the hitch is starting to show some rust.
The anti rattle has worked very well.
The anti rattle device pictured has a 1/2" U-bolt and the plate is 5/16" thick which makes it a very stout (meaning "not flimsy") tool for making the ball mount and receiver hitch into a one piece unit eliminating that clunking and rattling normally heard when starting, stopping and going over bumps. It's another example of how something so simple can be so useful. Since installing it, I've used the trailer on several
runs and no longer have that rattling sound telescoping through the tow vehicle. I do consider it's purchase "money well spent for a quality product".
I can’t believe how much quieter it is pulling my boat now! Very easy installation, less than 5 minutes! You guys need to advertise these more, put them on your front page. I never knew they existed, until my fishing buddy ordered one 2 weeks ago.

Still the best thing since sliced bread.
My bike rack hitch was rattling and very wobbly before I installed this. A year later, it's working so well that I forgot it was there. Not only recommended, but required to have in my opinion.
I've had this on my One-Up swing out rack extension on my Sprinter for about 6 months now and still holding it rock solid. Recommended.
Easy fix for a wobbly bike hitch rack! Perfect heavy duty support! I highly recommend it!!!
solid and simple construction- Great va lue.
Works perfectly just as advertised! Removed all slop from hitch and provides much more comfortable ride. Wish I would have bought one years ago!

Hitch rattling is the worst, Clint! I'm glad that this eliminated that for you :)
