by:

Bought these because of another review stated they would cut down on wobble of a hitch mounted carrier, i have to say i am disappointed in performance for the price but the cheaper ones were out of stock would not recommend

by:

I love the concept of this product, however there is not enough clearance between the bumper and the trailer hitch to use on our 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Unfortunately we will have to continue useing shims to quiet the trailer hitch noise. I rate the product, not the application of it.

by:

The device is fine for a light weight application. Device works when it is well tightened. Ubolt is too small in diameter. Device would not inhibit hitch looseness when used on a cargo carrier with weight of 250 lbs.

by:

Hi, yes, hooked it up and while carrying my motorcycle which weighs 385 lbs no noise what so ever!
I love it!
Thanks so much…

by:

This works well on my Jeep Grand Cherokee with the factory hitch receiver, several other styles required grinding away part of the chain hook plate in order to mount correctly.

by:

Looks good but found the nut size for a deep socket (which you'll need) is 17mm not 3/4" as I was told by etrailer during a "live" chat.

by:

U-bolt needs to be made of a higher tensile strength material and with a finer thread pitch. First time I installed the stabilizer, I torqued the nuts to no more than 30 Ft.-Lbs. After removing, the threads on the u-bolt show that they started pulling. Washers and lock washers are very soft and do not meet ASME standards. Made in China.

by:

This thing is very overpriced. I bought it thinking it would be better than a 15 dollar Amazon one. Not so, the ubolt is much smaller and no larger washers are provided. It also didn’t arrive on time for my trip as advertised. Don’t get me started on the “wrench” that’s included. lol. Save your money.

by:

Simply amazing how well this stabilizer works. Once installed and tightened, no more play and rattle. One of the best items I've ever purchased for my RV.

by:

Solidly built. Easy install. Stabilizes the carrier on the back of my Travel Trailer. I like that it can be installed without removing the carrier from the receiver.

I have transferred it to a new fifth wheel. It’s still working great. No rattles and it stabilizes the carrier with my generator and e- bike mounted on it thus reducing the bounce load on the hitch.

by:

The best 30 dollars I have ever spent. Works just as described, zero movement from my hitch now!

by:

The bike rack fit loosely onto the trailer hitch causing the bikes to sway. I tried several remedies with no success. This stabilizer tightened up the assembly so the sway was gone. I am very appreciative of how sturdy it is constructed and effective. Great product!

by:

Works great....love etrailer

by:

This product has all but taken away rattle and jiggle from both my ebike platform hitch, and my travel trailer platform hitch. Fyi, I noticed that the washers on the Travel Trailer Hitch have compressed to more of a cone shape since the holes on the bracket maybe just a little too big.

by:

Haven't used it yet but it is very solid and will be up to the task that it's intended for.

by:

This worked extremely well! I had to modify the install because of my hitch/bumper. Even with the nuts down (used some loctite) they didn't budge when pulling a square-drop trailer across back roads in Wyoming Wind River range. In fact, I lost the nut off of the ball hitch and not this stabilizer! Would definitely recommend.

by:

I have a cargo basket on the back of my suv. I liked it but in addition to the rattle it would sway left and right. I use this vehicle daily and this item was the single most important part of the set up. If you don’t get one, your missing out on stable, quiet operation with your hitch receiver. It’s great!

by:

Haven’t used it yet, but it seems it will work fine. Super easy install. Not sure the purpose of the yellow coating, but it sure is pretty. Great company to deal with, great product. Very happy. Thanks Joshua. I’ll be back.

by:

Be sure this will work on your style of hitch. We have the OEM // factory installed (integrated) tow package on our 2020 Toyota Highlander and we have to install it upside down to make it work. Also, the yellow rubberized part only lasts for 1-2 uses before it is cracked // split and no longer functional.

by:

Have always wanted to buy one of these hear they help a lot , especially with the ball mount with sway bar connection.

The anti rattle hitch has quieted down any noises from my trailer would recommend buying this product.

by:

I bought a complete flat tow parts fir a jeep wrangler. I decided I could install myself. Your installation videos made it nearly a piece of cake. From a quote I got from a RV service business, I saved several thousand dollars installing myself. etrailer is the place to for your RV needs!

by:

The instructions for anti-rattle hitch stabilizer said to mount it the opposite of what the video states. I will try it both ways and see which works best.

Great product and idea. It keeps a rack or anything else you put in the hitch level and rattle free. Even when I have one side of a rack loaded heavier than the other side, the rack stays level.

by:

This Anti Rattle Hitch Stabilizer was easy to
Install and solved the ball mount rattle noise
problem I was experiencing . The design made
more sense than other products available to
correct ball mount rattle noise .

by:

The rattle and vibration are better than they were but certainly not eliminated.

by:

This is an absolute must for a bike rack. I carry two bikes on the back of my 5th wheel and needed something to minimize rack movement. I Love the simplicity but I love the powder coat finish and vinyl covering.

  • 2022 Toyota Highlander Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a Thule Bike Rack with 1-1/4" Shank
We're glad you found us too, William! I see you've ordered the Curt Hitch # C45CR for your 2022 Toyota Highlander along with the Adapter # e58YR and Anti-Rattle # e99007 - these will work great for your setup! Just note that you'll need an additional hitch pin for the adapter, so if you don't have one, I recommend picking up the etrailer Coupler Lock # e98882 so everything is locked as well. Just wanted to note one thing; Thule doesn't like it when non-Thule adapters are used for their...

  • Which Anit-Rattle Clamp Is Best For Electric Bike Rack?
Hey there Lisa, hope you're having a great day. So you actually brought up a really good question. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers # e38FV uses a gate that comes down and makes contact with the shank of the bike rack or ball mount, and this will not interfere with the hitch pin that is included in some bike racks, such as with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y88DJ. The etrailer clamp will be more effective in stabilizing the...

  • Can 2023 Ford Maverick Use Weight Distribution Hitch
Hi Brandon; are you towing near the max capacity of your Maverick? The information you saw is correct. Most unibody vehicles do not allow the use of a weight distribution hitch (WDH) but there are some exceptions. The answer can typically be found in the owner's manual. I don't see anything specifically listed in the manual online saying it can't be used but I recommend double checking yours to be sure. It might also be a good idea to double check with the dealer. There are a couple of good anti-rattle options for you, but definitely do not drill a hole into the receiver as it can compromise it. So what you can do is either add a clamp-on style stabilizer, or an anti-rattle hitch pin lock, depending on the style you prefer: - etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer for 2" Hitches # e99007 - Stainless Steel Locking, Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin for 2" Trailer Hitches # SR25219 I like the hitch pin because it gives you the benefit of a lock as well,...

Yes - the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # HLY64FR is the same as model HR1700. We here at etrailer usually have different part numbers than the bike rack manufacturer. With the ladder at the middle of your 2022 Grand Design Reflection 341RDS, there is a way to know for sure if the rack does not interfere with the RV Rider when folded up. • What Can Help Control the Bouncing and Shaking Seen on Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers
The bouncing and shaking that you saw in the video is the norm on the majority of cargo carriers on the market. The extended location from the hitch causes the carrier to bounce more than a hitch accessory that might sit closer to the vehicle. There are a few products that can help with the bounce. An anti-rattle device, like # e99007 for 2 inch hitches, can help by securing the cargo carrier's hitch shank to the hitch receiver. The bolts will push the shank up tight against the top of...

Hey Matthew, You can absolutely use the # e99007 with an aluminum tongue accessory. Since it is something that installs and is hand tightened down there will not be any issues. You will want to periodically check the nuts to make sure they are tight and adjust accordingly, but this is going to work great for you. What hitch accessory are you using this with?

  • Is There A 12" Hitch Extension I Can Use While Flat Towing?
I do have a potential solution for you, but I do not have an extender that will measure exactly 12". At least nothing that will be rated for use while flat towing. I do have a 14" hitch extender from Gen-Y part # GY89SR. This is rated for 10,000 lbs towing and 500 lbs tongue weight. It is recommended to use an anti rattle device like part # e99007 when using an extension. This will help to reduce any additional play at the hitch. You will also need a second hitch pin like the # e98880. Please...

No, its not but I have a better option. Instead of the Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin for 2" Trailer Hitches item # SHP2061, I recommend the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer for 2" Hitches item # e99007. This can be used with any 2" ball mount or accessory so long as your hitch has a collar around it for a stabilizer to work. If you're using this on an 2019 F-150 you're good. It will help greatly with vertical movement caused by bouncing when you hit a pot hole because it tightens the connection...

  • Recommended Anti-Rattle Device For Ball Mount Included w/ Gen-Y Rebel GY42FR
Since the ball mount included with the Gen-Y phantom has a hollow shank I recommend using the # 63232 which threads into the ball mount. The Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232 and others with this same design unfortunately do not come with a keyed alike option so you would have to get regular hitch pin locks that can be keyed alike, like the etrailer # e98882 (2-5/8") or # e98881 (3-5/8"), and then use an anti-rattle hitch stabilizer like part # e99007.

The # TH23JV rack uses an AutoAttach system that does not allow for some adapters to work well.
