Excellent Jack. Slow moving but that is due to high torque. Well made, attractive design. Highly recommended! Solved the problem of busting my knuckles on the propane tanks while cranking the old jack. 671724

Excellent job of lifting, easy to use motor cover needs to be waterproof better. Forget the covered bag use a bucket. Other than the motor cover great piece of equipment. 774754

It works extremely well. My toy hauler camper weighs 10,000 + pounds and the jack has no problem lifting it 707256

What a dream come true! This electric jack replaced my old hand crank unit on my 24 foot travel trailer. Installation was very simple with the one wire hook up. What I like most about this jack is the drop leg. This jack extends so far that now I won't need to bring all my boards (for lifting height) with me just to get the trailer off of the hitch. Not included was a ring terminal for attaching the wire to the battery, but thats okay because I had one laying around. Another thing that I did, was that I found some flat washers to use between the head of the mounting bolt and the jack. The provided lock washers looked like they'd pull through the mounting plate. Just be aware that the motor unit on the jack protrudes to the back and front of the center line of the jack tube. I'll have to deal with some clearance issues between the jack motor and my propane tanks. This isn't a flaw with the jack, just a quirk with my particular trailer setup. Its a very nicely built jack, feels solid and heavy in your hand. Its powerful too. It had no problem picking up the trailer and my 2007 F-150 in order to install my weight distributing bars. 519677

If you need a ring terminal to wire this jack part # BD500187 I recommend part # DW05705-1
Ring Terminal - 12-10 Gauge Wire - 3/8" Ring ID
$1.74
for a 3/8 stud size, part 44-5310A for a 3/16 stud size or part 44-5356A for a 5/16 stud size. All of these ring terminals will work with 12-10 Gauge Wire. Deka 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1
10 Gauge Primary Wire - Blue - per Foot
$1.92
will work well if you need extra wire.

Fair price. Quick shipping. Arrived as promised.Installation video was very helpful, as were the instructions. Add the drop leg BEFORE bolting the unit in place. Otherwise, you need to raise the tongue to get the leg underneath. Simple install. 361509

Perfect to replace hand crank also to be able to rotate on hitch for hookup I order to not be obstructed by propane bottles was perfect. 824132

Product received was as ordered. Installation was very easy. Mounted sideways as propane tank cover was in the way so this put the controls on the drivers side which will be handier for me. Took longer to decide how I wanted to wire than to install. Jack is very capable, smooth and quite. Installed on 22 foot camper. Tongue weight of aprox. 360 pounds. Have not used to hook up to truck to install leveling bars yet, but should work O.K. given it is rated for 3500 lbs. 809958

- BD500187
by:

Do not like it. It is very slow compared to other jacks I have used. The sliding tube at the bottom of the jack with holes in it to insert a pin is quite comber sum. Other jacks were able to raise my trailer without this arrangement. Should have returned the jack and bought another. 790372

One year review : Excellent. I bought a used camper. Toungue Jack failed immediately. I searched for a quality replacement jack and found this. It was easy to install ( i am disabled ) and has performed well and met my every expectation. I keep the head tightly covered with a plastic bag to protect from the elements, and also a vinyl slip on cover to protect from uv. I use this on a Rockwood 2109s camper. 647529

I installed a new trailer jack on my 2016 Lance 22' Travel Trailer. The jack handles about 400-lb. greater capacity than the original equipment and works great with no hiccups. The problem is with the power or control head on the unit, which extends about 2' to the rear or toward the trailer, prevents use of the cover or shroud for the gas bottles. I don't like leaving the bottles, valves and hoses exposed to the elements and possible theft. Either the jack has to be moved forward or the bottles and their mounts have to be moved to the rear. Either way involves drilling new mounting holes in the platform - a major pain! 642695

The jack has been great. Used it to replace the factory hand crank. Don't know if I can ever go back to a hand crank now. Two thumbs up. 641419

Very happy with the performance of our Bulldog. The name fits. What a difference as compared to a manual jack. Well worth the modest expense, and installation was hardly rocket science. The built in light is a great feature for evening set ups. A minor tip - cover the motor during outside storage to limit the risk of water seepage into the unit. Our experience with etrailer was also very positive. 640008

It's been a year now, and my jack is working just like it did a year ago when I installed it on my 32ft wildwood camper. Still smooth motion up and down. I really enjoy having it. Makes camping so much easier. One of the best purchase decisions I have made! I do have a cover I put on it when I bought it new, so it has never been wet, or exposed to sunlight. I can work the buttons on the jack through the cover, so I never take it off. I do love the jack. Thank you guys so much for good quality at a great great price! 638730

After 1 year this jack has been working flawlessly. It has weathered just fine (although I keep a cover over the head unit). The best feature is that I was able to mount it sideways, allowing my tailgate to clear it by an inch! 611376

  • Will Bulldog Jack part # BD500187 Work on 10,000 lb Trailer
The lifting capacity of the Bulldog Powered-Drive Trailer Jack # BD500187 is 3,500 lbs. A 10,000 lb trailer would have a tongue weight of between 1,000 to 1,500 lbs so this jack would work well. The warranty is a 5 year limited warranty that covers manufacturer defects.

  • What Gauge Wire and Fuse Should be Used to Install Bulldog A-Frame Trailer Jack BD500187
When wiring up the Bulldog A-frame trailer jack # BD500187 you can use 12 gauge wire such as # 12-1-1 (sold by the foot) as long as the distance from the jack to the battery is less than 20 feet. I am assuming that the battery is located at the front of the trailer near the jack so that shouldn't be a problem. You could use a larger gauge wire such as # 10-1-1 (also sold by the foot) but it is up to you. An inline fuse is not needed because the jack has an internal self-resetting...
