Would this work on a old budget style rental trailer? I have restored it and looking for simple better lifting options

Hey Matt, that restoration is looking good! Yes, the etrailer Swivel Jack w/ Bolt-On Mounting Plate # e54RV will work with your trailer. Unless I'm way off, it looks like your frame isn't more than 3" deep which is the only real requirement for the mounting plate. The jack has 15-1/2" of travel and a 3,000 lb capacity which will be more than enough for whatever you might be hauling on there.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
