One year later and our camper jack we purchased on this site still works like a breeze. We have a 1990 Coleman Williamsburg pop up & one of the jacks was not working properly any longer. Replacing it has made all the difference. Now, to save up money to replace all of them! It was really easy to setup with the help of a hydraulic jack to lift up the trailer a bit to get under there. For reference I am a woman, and I installed it :). I am handy, but am definitely not a mechanic. So what I am saying is - it wasn't hard. The local camper place wanted to charge me $100 to install it for me. No thanks. Will definitely come back to etrailer.com for items needed for my camper. Their service is excellent, and they clearly stand behind their products as they have reached out multiple times to ensure I am happy with my purchase - even one year later. Customer service means a lot to me, and there isn't a whole lot of it out there anymore. Happy to have found etrailer.com. Thanks! 523366

First of all these jacks did exactly as advertised. I have a small utility/camping trailer I wanted to stabilize better to help eliminate the trailer from rocking or sliding around. After mounting them they immediately improved the stability. If I wanted I could even raise the trailer wheels off the ground. I installed 1 pair underneath the back of the trailer. Install took less than 15 min. The only negative of this design is the catch mechanism that holds the jack in the UP position. Returning from a camping trip a passing motorist informed me that one of the jacks were down. Luckily it was not damaged. Its possible it was rubbing on the trailer and wasn't able to fully lock UP. After a quick adjustment they have given me zero problems. 441080

I used these jacks on my 13 ft Scamp trailer, as the original jacks were rusted and one was not foldable any more (it's an old trailer). And, of course, you can't just drive down the street with one of the rear jacks hanging down! Scamp doesn't sell these as replacement parts, but etrailer does. Very good customer service - the first set of jacks had one with a broken spot weld on the foot plate, and they replaced it for me (sent it priority mail, so we only missed two days of our vacation.) They were very helpful, and hopefully we get another 10 years out of these jacks. By the way, these don't exactly fit on the Scamp - we had to grind down one side of the base a little to make them fold completely into the bumper like the old ones did. But that wasn't a big issue, and we are happy to be on the road again. 810115

Easy to install, bolted to the cross member with no problem. However, when in the stowed position the bracket on the end of the spring hits the cross member and the lock tab on the leg doesn't fully lock in, it's only about halfway. It looks like it will hold while traveling down the road but it would be nice to completely lock in. Overall it does the job well. 790341

I was very pleased with the quality of these stabilizer jack legs. For the money you can't go wrong. My intended use was probably a little unorthodox but they seem to work perfectly! I mounted a receiver extension into the right end of my trailer hitch which allows me to utilize it for a small truck crane. I had my grandson weld the base of the crane to another double hitch extension that raised the crane to a workable height. He than fabricated the two stabilizer jack legs to 2" "T" shaped steel so it could slid into double hitch extension. WaLa! I now have a portable removable crane that I can mount to the side of the truck and stabilize to the ground utilizing these great jack legs from etrailer! 771193

Ask the Experts about this etrailer Camper Jacks

  • Why Does Cost for Kit of 2 Stabilizer Jacks Change from Individual Cost for Same 2 Jacks?
Good question. The Stabilizer Jack - 6-1/4" Drop Leg Travel - 18" - 650 lbs - Qty 1 # TJ01RT doesn't come with the Replacement Handle Rod for etrailer and Ram Stabilizer Jacks - 650 lbs # SJ-100-HD which does come included in the kit # TJ01RT-HD. The pricing does change based on the manufacturer costs and stock at any given time, so it is wise to compare as you have done.

  • Best Way to Attach Stabilizer Jacks # TJ01RT-HD to Trailer Frame
Best option for you would be to have the Stabilizer Jacks # TJ01RT-HD welded to your trailer frame. That will give you the most secure attachment. A local welder to you should have no problem attaching these. Would probably be the easiest job of his day!

  • Mounting Orientation of TJ01RT-HD Stabilizer Jack
There many possible ways to mount a stabilizer jack such as the # TJ01RT-HD you looked at. Mounting them in the orientation shown the diagram would tend to work a bit better to stabilize the trailer against side to side movement, while having the jacks parallel to the trailer frame members would do a better job stabilizing against fore/aft movement. However, mounting them as shown in the diagram would be pretty effective against movement both ways from normal movement in the trailer. The...

  • Stabilizer Jack Recommendation for 4 Corners of Hi-Lo Travel Trailer
The support capacity per etrailer Camper Jack # TJ01RT-HD that you referenced is 1,000 lbs. Since your trailer would weigh up to 5,000 lbs this would not be your best option as the jacks most likely would get exceeded. I'd go with scissor jacks on all four corners of the camper like with the pair part # UF48-979002 for a set of two. These have way more capacity than needed and do a much better job providing stabilization to a camper that the style you mentioned so this is what will...

  • Total Extended Length of TJ01RT-HD Stabilizer Jack
The fully extended length of the # TJ01RT-HD stabilizer jack would be 18 inches, which represents the 'A' Dimension in your photo. The 'B' dimension would simply be the height above the ground of the underside of your trailer when its level. The Atwood stabilizer jack is meant to hold up or stabilize the trailer, not lift it up off the ground.

  • Do the Etrailer Camper Jacks # TJ01RT-HD Come with Mounting/Installation Hardware?
The Stabilizer Jacks - 6-1/4" Drop Leg Travel - 18" Extension - 650 lbs - Qty 2 # TJ01RT-HD does not come with installation hardware. The two stabilizer jacks do come with the steel rod and the bolt holes to mount are 7/16 inches in diameter and are 3 inches on center.

  • Can etrailer Stabilizer Jacks be Installed on Enclosed Aluminum Trailer
The Stabilizer Jacks # TJ01RT-HD are actually a universal fit so while they are typically used for travel trailers, there really is no reason why you shouldn't be able to install them on an enclosed trailer. With that being said, I recommend reaching out to your trailer manufacturer to see what they recommend doing for this since you do have an aluminum trailer. Some aluminum trailers are just fine to bolt things to while other manufacturers don't recommend it.

  • etrailer.com Stabilizer Jacks Mounting Hole Dimensions and Comparison to Atwood Stabilizer
The bolt spacing of the etrailer.com stabilizer jacks # TJ01RT-HD is 3 inches on center and has 7/16 inch diameter holes. The Atwood stabilizer jacks are being discontinued as they were bought out by Lippert. The bolt holes are 3-1/2 inches on center and there are 4 versus 2. The etrailer.com jacks also have 1/4 inch more lift at the same 650 lb capacity.

  • Where To Mount Stabilizer Jacks For A Freedom Elite 28h RV
Let me start by stating that the stabilizer jacks like the Etrailer Stabilizer Jacks, Item # TJ01RT-HD, are designed to support a portion of your trailer's weight, not your full GVWR of your trailer. If you have the Stabilizer Jacks part # TJ01RT-HD then I can confirm the correct replacement handle which is the Replacement Handle Rod for etrailer and Ram Stabilizer Jacks part # SJ-100-HD. That said, the handles are pretty standard you should be good to go no matter which jacks you have just make note of the handle diameter which is 1/2".

The Stabilizer Jacks # TJ01RT-HD can work with the two inch frame of your trailer but either a plate will need to be welded to the frame or the jacks themselves would need to be welded. With the small radius of the trailer frame, trying to mount the jacks with bolts or another method would be unstable.
