More or less what I expected, maybe a bit flimsier that I’d like but not bad for the price. I do wish that etrailer wouldn’t plaster their products with unsightly stickers that are difficult to remove. No customer wants them, and in this case they were applied upside down so they don’t even provide a good advertisement for the company.

These stabilizer jacks have held up pretty average so far. Its been a year and there is a little rust. I keep cleaning and painting them to help protection. The locking mechanism isnt working well on one of them, but i think its because it hits my trailer when it is up, so it needs a spacer to work better. Other than that, its worth the money. They do a great job leveling my trailer and keeping it from tipping when its not hooked up to my truck.

First of all these jacks did exactly as advertised. I have a small utility/camping trailer I wanted to stabilize better to help eliminate the trailer from rocking or sliding around. After mounting them they immediately improved the stability. If I wanted I could even raise the trailer wheels off the ground. I installed 1 pair underneath the back of the trailer. Install took less than 15 min. The only negative of this design is the catch mechanism that holds the jack in the UP position. Returning from a camping trip a passing motorist informed me that one of the jacks were down. Luckily it was not damaged. Its possible it was rubbing on the trailer and wasn't able to fully lock UP. After a quick adjustment they have given me zero problems.

Installed on rear of my 19ft travel trailer... Great product...easy to install...operates so much better than old screw jacks & gives more ground clearance....I am a "happy camper"

Product was out of stock and was to arrive after June 1st but came early and now installed. Item is very solid and I can load my Trailer now without having it hooked up to my truck.

I used these jacks on my 13 ft Scamp trailer, as the original jacks were rusted and one was not foldable any more (it's an old trailer). And, of course, you can't just drive down the street with one of the rear jacks hanging down! Scamp doesn't sell these as replacement parts, but etrailer does. Very good customer service - the first set of jacks had one with a broken spot weld on the foot plate, and they replaced it for me (sent it priority mail, so we only missed two days of our vacation.) They were very helpful, and hopefully we get another 10 years out of these jacks. By the way, these don't exactly fit on the Scamp - we had to grind down one side of the base a little to make them fold completely into the bumper like the old ones did. But that wasn't a big issue, and we are happy to be on the road again.

Exceptional customer service! Submitted my order Sunday morning and it was packaged and ship same day. Estimated delivery the following Thursday, and arrived on Wednesday. Everything was 100% correct with the order -- including door handles with locks keyed the same. Quality of products looks great as well -- exactly as expected. Getting ready for my next order now.

My wheel was on backorder and my jacks were shipped quick once my wheel was in stock. I finally received what I ordered. Customer service was awesome, if I had any concerns or questions they responded quickly.

by:

Pretty straight forward install. I got lucky was the D-Ring tie down bolts were the same spacing so I used them.

- TJ01RT-HD
by:

Perfect for small cargo trailers. I used 8mm rivet nuts to install on aluminum trailer. Use large washers as spacers to keep jack stable and flat against frame. Rivnuts are not flush with frame.

- TJ01RT-HD
by:

Easy install, does the trick - single fender washer works as described in the video. A little difficult unlocking the jacks when you jack it up too high. I found it easier to lower the jacks to the surface and apply pressure by raising the front of the trailer. When I need to unlock the rear jack, I just relieve the pressure by lowering the front.

- TJ01RT-HD
by:

I think these are almost exactly like the ones that came on my trailer which were great until I drove off with them extended and destroyed them!!! Being a retired welder I’m gonna cut what’s left on the trailer and weld the new ones on when I feel like it

Item was delivered VERY quickly and as promised. It allowed me to get them installed BEFORE my trip. Loved it.

Well built worth the money. Plan to use on small trailer to stop it from tipping when loading small tractor and trailer is not hitched up to the truck. I used these on another trailer for the same reason.

Comments
I painted them white so I dont leave them down when towing. Keeps the trailer from tilting when loading my tractor. I continue to shop with etrailer.

I've used about a dozen of these stabilizer jacks. They are easily welded or bolted using 3/8-inch bolts to the trailer frame. I use beveled washers to thru-bolt them through the bottom flange of C-channel for easily removal in the future. I deducted a star because the jacks DON'T PROPERLY CLOSE if welded/bolted to the trailer frame such that, when they swing up, they're collinear with the frame. The mechanism can't lock, so the jack still slides. It's a safety hazard. I solve the problem by using a single washer as a spacer between the trailer frame and the top of the stabilizer jack mounting plate on the INSIDE BOLT only. Works like a charm.

- TJ01RT-HD
by:

I was very pleased with the quality of these stabilizer jack legs. For the money you can't go wrong. My intended use was probably a little unorthodox but they seem to work perfectly! I mounted a receiver extension into the right end of my trailer hitch which allows me to utilize it for a small truck crane. I had my grandson weld the base of the crane to another double hitch extension that raised the crane to a workable height. He than fabricated the two stabilizer jack legs to 2" "T" shaped steel so it could slid into double hitch extension. WaLa! I now have a portable removable crane that I can mount to the side of the truck and stabilize to the ground utilizing these great jack legs from etrailer!

One year later and our camper jack we purchased on this site still works like a breeze. We have a 1990 Coleman Williamsburg pop up & one of the jacks was not working properly any longer. Replacing it has made all the difference. Now, to save up money to replace all of them! It was really easy to setup with the help of a hydraulic jack to lift up the trailer a bit to get under there. For reference I am a woman, and I installed it :). I am handy, but am definitely not a mechanic. So what I am saying is - it wasn't hard. The local camper place wanted to charge me $100 to install it for me. No thanks. Will definitely come back to etrailer.com for items needed for my camper. Their service is excellent, and they clearly stand behind their products as they have reached out multiple times to ensure I am happy with my purchase - even one year later. Customer service means a lot to me, and there isn't a whole lot of it out there anymore. Happy to have found etrailer.com. Thanks!

First of all I want to thank the great customer service I received from Dena! After several months on back order; I finally received these jack stands. Expecting a lighter gauge build, I was surprised at the intermediate tube / plate wall thickness. These unites will work great on my 6'x10' enclosed trailer. The only issue I see is having to install these to allow for full locking position when closed. It looks like there is an interference with closed arm being above the mounting plate plane; thus not allowing arm to lock into place. Excellent buy for lighter application!

- TJ01RT-HD
by:

Easy to install, bolted to the cross member with no problem. However, when in the stowed position the bracket on the end of the spring hits the cross member and the lock tab on the leg doesn't fully lock in, it's only about halfway. It looks like it will hold while traveling down the road but it would be nice to completely lock in. Overall it does the job well.

- TJ01RT-HD
by:

Still works great- No complaints after one year

by:

Haven’t actually used the jacks yet. I installed them to allow the parking of our side by side on the trailer when unhooked from the truck. Only needed to drill 4 ea 3/8” holes in order to install the jacks. Really easy. The only problem was that the jack extension release lever would hit the frame slightly before the jacks were fully in their locked up position. A couple of spacer washers placed between the trailer frame and the jack face solved that problem by giving about 1/8” extra clearance.

Ask the Experts about this etrailer Camper Jacks

  • Why Does Cost for Kit of 2 Stabilizer Jacks Change from Individual Cost for Same 2 Jacks?
Good question. The Stabilizer Jack - 6-1/4" Drop Leg Travel - 18" - 650 lbs - Qty 1 # TJ01RT doesn't come with the Replacement Handle Rod for etrailer and Ram Stabilizer Jacks - 650 lbs # SJ-100-HD which does come included in the kit # TJ01RT-HD. The pricing does change based on the manufacturer costs and stock at any given time, so it is wise to compare as you have done.

  • Mounting Orientation of TJ01RT-HD Stabilizer Jack
There many possible ways to mount a stabilizer jack such as the # TJ01RT-HD you looked at. However, mounting them as shown in the diagram would be pretty effective against movement both ways from normal movement in the trailer. The...
