Clunky brake boxes can crowd the driver’s side, but this controller mounts flush to the dash and is only 1" thick. The compact housing tucks neatly under the dash using the included bracket and hardware, so it looks clean and stays out of the way. The controls are simple—two rocker switches for gain and load, a pinch trigger for manual override, and a bright LED display that’s easy to read at a glance.
With an internal 3-axis accelerometer, braking feels balanced and natural. The controller senses how hard your tow vehicle slows down and matches that effort so your trailer brakes in sync. No jerky push-pull feeling—just smooth, even stops whether you’re cruising flat highways or heading downhill. It works with up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports electric trailer brakes for consistent performance.
You can dial in exactly how much braking power you need for your trailer weight. Gain adjusts on a scale of 0.5 to 9.9 in 0.5-step increments using the gray rocker switch. Then the black rocker switch lets you set load control from 1 to 9 to change how aggressively the brakes reach full power. Together, these settings give precise control—light braking when unloaded or strong stopping power when fully loaded.
The TriFlex NEXT continuously monitors for shorts or wiring faults and protects against reverse polarity to keep your system safe. During long stops, it automatically reduces power output to prevent trailer brakes from overheating. After five minutes of inactivity, it enters sleep mode to minimize battery drain, then wakes instantly when you press the brake pedal.
The included custom adapter harness connects directly to your vehicle’s factory brake control port under the dash. Just plug one end into the port and the other into the TriFlex NEXT—no splicing or extra wiring required. Automatic leveling means it can mount at any angle while still working accurately, making setup straightforward from start to finish.

This unit took less than 10 minutes to install and works flawlessly with my Grand Cherokee while pulling a Travel Trailer. Plus its low profile design made it easy to install by the hood release so I don't have a big box and display on top of my dashboard. Great product at the right price. Works well. The connector I got from e trailer which fits other older model Audi’s wasn’t listed to fit the 2024 Audi but fit perfectly. The Curt Triflex is an easy to use brake controller. Highly recommend!
I bought this brake controller and I love it i received it and put on and tested the brake and left pulling my g19fd rv and on the road my camper started to sway i never touched the foot brake I just touch the button on the brake for the camper and it got in line and I continued to roll on
I really like this one better than the other (techonsha) I have used for a long time this one is easy to setup and use and it has a better proportion sense than I am used to. Well worth the money, I haul many different loads and it works as well for all.
Arrived as planed and was much smaller then my old clunky one. The custom cable harness was easy to install. Finding a flat spot to mount the controller took the longest to find the perfect spot. I gave a five stars because every was as it said. (Plug and play)

I've had the brake controller in use for over a year in my 2012 Nissan Frontier. The install was easy and took about an hour. My truck is a 2WD model so I mounted the controller in the plug that is used to select between 2WD and 4WD on vehicles equipped with 4WD. So the install look like factory.
I installed the Curt C51110 controller with the Plug & Play C51382 into my 2016 Frontier, works perfectly.

The installation was easy in my 2026 Nissan Frontier.
Took a while to figure it out. Have a 2003 Dodge van. Had to tow in package but didn’t have any wiring factory installed other than for the seven way. Paul it was great identifying what I need and sending it to me. Thank you very much.

Worked as expected and saved me a lot of money on installation. It is good quality so far on the initial test run. Excited to make good use of this.
This is a new model of the Curt TriFlex brake controller. As a replacement for the previous unit, it was nice to be able to install it without rewiring. The new model has a more modern style digital display that is easier to read and less annoying. The button controls are a bit less obvious than the previous model, so it takes a little effort to figure out how to adjust the system. Overall, I think it's a better unit that the previous models.

Hard to tell. For my 2018 Armada the power input and output was not reaching the controller properly. I took it to a shop that installs Curt products. They added a diode to one of the wires. They told me some vehicles need it some don’t. When the controller was in my Ram, it didn’t. After hours of diagnosis, they strongly believe my vehicle has a wiring problem. In the end I ended up getting the Curt Echo which works. A lot cheaper than going to the dealer to figure out wiring issues.
