Question:

I have in my cart Curt 51529 and 51146. Please confirm these are correct for a 2022 Genesis GV70. Alternatively ,can I use the 51529 harness with your Tekonsha controllers? I note they seem to be much cheaper than the equivalent Curt controllers. Thank you

Hey Anthony, thanks for reaching out!

The Curt TriFlex NEXT Trailer Brake Controller #C24VV and Curt Adapter # C77BR will fit your 2022 Genesis GV70 just fine.

The only way a Tekonsha adapter will work is if you cut off the connector for the controller side and splice it into the wiring for the brake controller. So, while the adapter might cost a little less, it kind of defeats the purpose of the plug-in adapter anyways so it would be better just to use the Curt adapter.

Do you already have a hitch, wiring, and ball mount?

Jon, Great ,prompt response - thank you. The Curt C24VV controller photo on your page shows the C77BR included. Is the C77BR included in the price for the C24vv or do I need to purchase the 2 items separately ? Thanks.

@Anthony Good looking out - I was just trying to make sure we had the right adapter for you. What you need is the Curt Kit # C25YV. The # C24VV doesn't come with an adapter like what you need.

@JonG Thanks. This is odd . In the link below, from your site , it shows multiple photos of the controller with the harness included and the price $124.95. And it confirms fitment for a 2022 Genesis GV70. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/CURT/C25YV.html. So I have that item in my cart ,ready to buy. Am I mistaken ? BTW ,how can I help your customers find the very well hidden pre-wiring connector on this Genesis- it's not exactly where your Instructions say. It is behind/above a kick panel to the left of the obd port ,covered in fuzzy black tape with just a glimpse of yellow cable showing, This will avoid customers unbundling the wrong loom. I have a photo if that would help. Thanks for your help.

@Anthony The videos/photos will pull from different part numbers which can be a little confusing. The Part # C25YV is the correct part. We currently don't have a way to add photos to comments (they say that feature is in the pipeline so fingers crossed), but the description you gave is really helpful! Usually the instructions will give a generalization since the exact spot can slightly vary, but hearing this directly from you will help, and it will show up when people search and find this answer page!
