Question:
I have a Drawtite brake controller that recently failed after about 18 months. This is the 2nd Drawtite that has failed. I live in Florida. It was installed under the dash if a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. Can you recommend another controller that can withstand the Florida heat?

I sure can Cynthia! To replace your Draw-Tite brake controller, I recommend the Curt TriFlex NEXT item # C24VV and the Curt Wiring Adapter for Cequent Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Harnesses item # C51520. This brake controller has been built to withstand the extreme heat of being kept inside a hot vehicle.
The Curt TriFlex NEXT Trailer item # C24VV is a proportional brake controller that slows or stops your trailer with the same amount of force you're using to slow or stop your Ram 2500. It works with standard electric brakes, electric over hydraulic brakes, and trailers with up to four axles. It also doesn't have to be mounted at a specific angle so it stays out of the way.
The Curt Wiring Adapter item # C51520 will allow you to plug the TriFlex NEXT Trailer item # C24VV directly into the wiring adapter you purchased for your Draw-Tite brake controller.
If you don't want to reuse your old adapter, the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers item # C51332 is the correct one for your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500.
What kind of trailer are you pulling with your Ram? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
