Features to know about

Plug and Play Installation: No Cutting or Splicing Required

Installing your trailer wiring harness should be the least of your worries, and with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package, it couldn’t be easier. This harness plugs directly into your vehicle's OEM tow package port, eliminating the need for any cutting or splicing of wires. It’s as simple as plugging in the connection under the driver's-side frame rail and you're good to go.

Tailor-Made for Your Vehicle: Custom Fit Design

There's nothing worse than a part that doesn't quite fit right. That's why this wiring harness is designed with a custom fit in mind. It's tailored to seamlessly integrate with select vehicles, including Nissan models, ensuring a snug fit that functions like factory-installed equipment. It’s the perfect solution for those who want an easy installation without sacrificing quality.

Connect with Confidence: 7-Way, Blade-Style Trailer Connector

When you’re towing, having the right electrical connections is crucial. This product provides a 7-way, RV-style trailer connector, perfect for powering your trailer’s signal lights. The blade-style connector is robust and reliable, ensuring that your trailer’s lights function correctly every time you hit the road.

Safe and Secure: Protective Cover for Longevity

Durability matters, especially for towing components that face the elements. The Curt T-Connector includes a protective cover for the 7-way connector, safeguarding it against dirt, moisture, and wear. This feature not only extends the connector’s life but also ensures reliable performance, trip after trip.

No Extra Parts Needed: Includes Necessary Relays

The path to effortless towing is paved with the right components. Included with this kit are the relays necessary to activate all functions of your trailer’s electric system. Once these are plugged in, you’ll have everything you need for a fully operational 7-way connector.

Easy Maintenance: Prevent Corrosion with Simple Steps

Electrical components can suffer due to exposure, but with a simple maintenance tip, you can enhance their longevity. Applying a small amount of grease to all electrical connections, both on the vehicle and the 7-pole connector, helps prevent the corrosion that might otherwise impair your towing capabilities.

Generally speaking, this has worked great on my 2008 Nissan Xterra S, but I'm deducting a star for two reasons:
- Does not come with a mounting bracket for the 7 pin receiver/connector, so it's just dangling at the moment
- The receiver/connector is only a 7 pin, would have much preferred a combo 7 & 4 pin. I've purchased a new receiver/connector to replace the one that comes with this one but have not swapped it out yet. The adapter type to the harness is USCAR.

I've used it a good amount since installing it a year ago. Mostly tow smaller trailers with 4 pin connectors so I have to use an adapter, but have had it work fine with a larger trailer that had the 7 pin.
Hoping to install a trailer brake controller soon and assume the two of these will play well together.

Overall, would buy again.

2014 Nissan Xterra

Excellent kit that makes install a breeze. "Plug and Play". I knocked off a star for 1 issue: the old Curt kit (bought this exact Nissan Xterra kit a decade ago) had a rubber gasket around the 7 way connector flip-cap. New one does not have a gasket. Time will tell how this new kit works on my newer model year xterra...I'd expect that mud and water from off roading will bugger up the 7 way pins.

Harness was easy to install. Plug and play. Fast shipping. Works great.

by:
2012 Nissan Pathfinder

My 2006 Pathfinder had a towing breaker box under the hood so i didn't need the 12 pin connector harness and the instructions did not cover that. Thank goodness for Google! Also some kind of bracket choice would have been nice but i was able to fab my own. Other than that this is a great kit that I'm sure is designed to cover a couple generations.

by:

Super easy 7 way to install. All the components just plug in and there is no wiring required. My trailer lights work great!

by:

+12V and trailer brake connections were reversed in the cable connection. I needed to swap them to work on my 2017 Nissan Frontier. After that it worked okay with no problems.

by:

Easiest trailer plug I ever installed. Still working well after a year.

by:
2015 Nissan Frontier

Shipped quickly and arrived intact.

This
wiring harness was very easy to install.

Tips:
1: Remove your spare tire before installing this harness. You will have much more room to work under the bed.
2: The safest and most secure way to mount the 7 way connector is by drilling a 2" hole in the bumper to the left of the license plate. This keeps the connector protected from below by the step bumper.

2016 Nissan Frontier

I have a 2016 Nissan Frontier that I bought used in November 2017. In February 2018, the first time I towed my trailer, I found out the trailer lights didn't work. After trying just about everything, I bought the C56226 wire harness from etrailer. Today, 17 May 2020, my son and I removed the factory installed harness and installed the new one from etrailer. In doing so, we discovered Nissan only installed one blue relay and one brown relay...the other blue relay was never installed! My trailer lights were never going to work! Thanks to etrailer my truck is now the way it should have been the day it rolled off the assembly line...all three relays are installed and my trailer tail lights now work.

Great! One year later and my trailer lights work perfectly.

2014 Nissan Xterra

Great product! Went together as described in youtube video. Only problem I have is the provided zip ties were not long enough to wrap around the tube steel of the hitch. I had to attach 2 together to get the length needed. The ties are also very thin. I will probably re-tie later with longer thicker ties.

by:
2016 Nissan Frontier

I had bought a Nissan Frontier which had a hitch and 4 plug wiring. When I hitched up my trailer I had brake and blinkers but no running lights. It was no big deal as I run it during the day. Well I got caught in a nasty rain storm and had no running lights and did some research to figure out why I had no running lights. Make a long story short the person or dealer who rigged up the lights never did the correct wiring. This kit is simple and does all the wiring for you as it is truly plug and play! The only thing they could add to the kit is two #14 sheet metal screws only because there are the holes in the bumper for the plate to attach the plug. Other then that the kits is good as gold!

2006 Nissan Xterra

I was desperate to find a trailer hitch for my Nissan Xterra, due to a last minute change of plans to bring my son home from college.
I found etrailer and they saved the day!
Great price, in stock so I placed my order. It arrived in a day or 2, with no extra charges. It was truly a custom fit for my vehicle with everything needed to hook up and connect to my truck, and was on in no time. Heavy duty/solid construction, a quality piece.
I have made use of the hitch many times, with out any problems!
Very happy with etrailer and I have already recommended them to others.

Good installation instructions. Installed in less time than estimated. All parts went together smoothly. I am very satisfied.

Nissan Xterra

Finally got time to install the hitch on my '14 Xterra. I found that I did not have to loosen the exhaust. I did it my myself in my garage and it took about an hour. After you wiggle it around and get the first bolt in the rest go in easy. Then all one must do is torque the bolts and you are "golden." I also am installing the 7 pin wiring harness. The Xterra is already wired for towing. It is mostly a plug and play. The only thing I did different was to cut a hole in the bumper and make it permanent and better looking. Will pick up my new teardrop trailer in a couple of months. Everything will be ready to go by then.

by:

This is well made, excellent product

by:

Great controller ,, easy to set up and with the on line instructions everything went smooth .. only issue is after you set it up check the trailer connector as the MANUFACTURE SWITCHED THE BRAKE WIRES and I had to switch them back .. it locked up the trailer brakes ...Just use the trailer connector tool to make sure everything is good before you go.

by:
2012 Nissan Pathfinder

Still works after a year but I did have a problem with installation on my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder because the Electrical Brake and Power Cables where reversed. Had to switch those two wires because before I did that I could not pull the trailer. The electrical brakes were always engaged.

by:
2019 Nissan Frontier

Super easy to plug right in. Worked like a charm and takes all of 10 min to hook it all up.

by:

Super easy install, no mount bracket included, decided it would be more protected mounted in the step-bumper

by:
2018 Nissan Frontier

When I ordered this item, for obvious reasons as described in the product review...its a plug and play. Bracket not included!! Well ok, so I will pay extra and get the bracket to attach this $75.00 bundle to my hitch. All went well with the order, and arrived in a good amount of time. easy install hooking into the factory connections. But this stupid little made in Taiwan bracket that I had to order above and beyond, mounted to the hitch ok, but was nowhere in the ball park of fitting the hole arrangement on the seven way plug!! I had to drill new holes in the plug itself to get it to mount up correctly. Not a huge deal, but my expectations are that paying the additional amount for an incorrect part...that should come with the product to begin with was somewhat of a let down. I will continue using e-trailer in the future for my vehicle needs. Folks are only getting a three star on this one!!

Saturn Relay

Wiring harness and relay harness plugged into the truck perfectly. I had a 7way to 4flat adapter plugged in and there was an issue where the blinkers and brake lights weren't working. Turns out there's a 15a fuse in the engine compartment that was missing. The fuse goes in the smaller fuse box on the passenger side in the engine compartment. Once you plug the fuse in everything will work. Hope this helps someone else.

  • Trailer Brakes Lock Up when Trailer is Plugged into 2015 Nissan Xterra
The issue you are describing comes up now and again with certain Nissan vehicles. Apparently, depending on which plant the vehicle was built in, the brake output wire and the 12 volt power wire are reversed on the vehicle wiring harness. Basically to fix the problem all you have to do is swap the blue and black wires inside of the Curt harness 7-Way part that plugs into the vehicle # C56226. There are a couple of ways to do this: Repair Option 1 This option is the best for the longevity...

  • Constant Power on Blue Trailer Brake Wire After Installing 7-Way on 2012 Nissan Frontier
On wiring harness # C56226 the larger brown relay is for the 12 volt circuit on the 7-Way and the two smaller blue relays are for the turn signal circuits so none of them would cause the constant power draw on the blue brake wire but I think I know what the problem is. On some Nissan vehicles the connectors where the 7-Way plugs in are wired differently than on other Nissan vehicles. To fix the issue you can swap the blue and black wires on the harness that plugs into the vehicle.

  • 7-Way Trailer Connector Recommendation for a 2016 Nissan Frontier
The only way to order a 7-way for your 2016 Nissan Frontier is to go with the part # C56226 which includes the jumper harness and relays. The good news is that you would have spares in case you were to damage a relay. If you happen to already have the round connector at the rear of your vehicle that just a 7-way connector would plug into you could use the part # PK11893 to plug right into that. But we do not have just the harness that would before that on the vehicle wiring.
