RV Steps with 24 Inch Wide 1 Step

Set up confident footing with a 24 inch wide step that feels secure as you come and go. A 1 step layout keeps entry simple and helps preserve ground clearance, so check the rise and drop to fit your rig and terrain. If the first step runs high at uneven campsites, a portable platform can make the transition easier.
Yes—removal is often the hardest part. Carriage bolts can be inaccessible and spin, so plan extra time and the right tools. Measure mounting width and drop, and check that the new step's holes line up. In some cases the old bolts can be reused if they're in good shape.
Use an adjustable-height platform as a transition in front of the mounted step. It can be adjusted to closely match the rise to your trailer steps, which helps reduce tripping hazard. It also gives a solid platform when the first step is high or when carrying things.
Measure the width of the step opening and the amount the step needs to drop. Check that the new step won't extend too far down and reduce ground clearance. If the rise still feels tall, a separate accessory step can help without changing the mounted step.
It can be very stable on gravel when set up correctly. A platform placed on 57 limestone gravel didn't move at all. Make sure the legs are properly spread out and the surface is reasonably level. A heavy-duty platform can add some weight, so plan for that when carrying it.
