Review of Brophy Enclosed Trailer Parts SS04

Speaker: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Brophy Scissor Steps. This is a 4-step design. These steps are designed for applications with a vertical height measurement from 31 inches to 40 inches. The vertical height is the measurement from level ground to the placement of the included mounting bracket. This is going to be the included mounting bracket. This would mount about 1/8 of an inch below the door that's the recommended clearance between the bottom of the door and the top of the mounting bracket. It's going to come with detailed installation instructions to help with you with the installation process.

If the height of your application where you need some stairs, if that's between 31 inches and 40 inches, then these scissor stairs would be a great fit for you, they'd work well with your application. They are manufactured from a steel construction for strength and durability. At the base of the stairs, it will actually going to self adjust a little bit. That way, it can level out to the terrain that it's sitting on and then they fold very easily for compact storage. The stairs are going to come fully assembled. I'll show you how to fold them up first at the end of the video.

Very easy to install and to use. You're going to have a nice diamond plate tread steel design or diamond tread design so it allows you to get some grip on there. If you're worried about grip, one of the things you can do is you can purchase some grip strips to place on these steps. They just have adhesive backing. If you're in need of something like that, you can find some different options here at etrailer.com. But the steel components are all going to be powder coated with that nice black finish to help it resist rust and corrosion. Keep it looking nice for a really long time.

The mounting bracket, again, it is included. If you're going to mount this to the tailgate of your pickup, it is going to need a different mounting bracket that would be sold separately. But this bracket right here, this is going to measure 18 1/4 inch long. You can see that's going to contain 4 mount holes on the unit. Those mount holes are going to be separated outer to outer by about 15 3/4 of an inch.

Though, the distance between each one is going to be about 5 1/4 of an inch. Mounting hardware is included. It's going to come with 4 nice heavy duty screws right there or bolts. Now, if you'd like to use a hand rail with this unit, there is an optional aluminum hand rail that would work with it, Part #AHR4. That is sold separately. That can be found here on our website. The product is made in the USA. It's going to feature a capacity of 300 pounds. The extended vertical height, again, is going to measure between 31 inches and 40 inches high. When it's retracted, it's going to have a nice compact retracted vertical height of 11 inches. The over-all width from the unit measuring from outer edge to outer edge, that's going to measure 18 inches wide. The actual width of the step, that looks to measure about 17 3/8 of an inch. Then the depth of the step, that looks to measure about 6 1/4 inches deep. Nice design, nice height of step for a scissor step design. It gives you plenty of room for your feet to get on there and to climb in and out of your camper or whatever it is you have this mounted to. Keep in mind that the step is only to be used while the vehicle is stationary. Do not permanently attach the steps to your application. We highly recommend that you use the mounting bracket provided so that way the step is easily removed prior to vehicle travel. If the step is not removed prior to travel, injury and damage may occur and we don't want that. That would also void your warranty and liability. To get it unmounted and folded up, a few different ways to do that. With it attached to the mounting bracket, the mounting bracket would attach to your application. Its got the holds on it that loop around that right there. We'll see how this upper arm pivots. What you could do is you could lift up the bottom, straight out, and then you can just push it in together and then detach this upper arm from the mounting bracket. What I find easy to do too is detach it from the mounting bracket right here, lift it up and then just push it down. Here on the back, it's going to have a little secure device, clicks together, keeps the stair in the folded position, that way you can easily transport it. That's going to do it for today's look at the Brophy Scissor Steps with the 4-Step design. .
