Question:

Interested in a Lippert 4.0 solid step with lift assist. Question I is how for does the lift assist assembly extend on the floor inside the trailer? This will be mounted in a narrow passageway and if, with the steps deployed it extends in too far it will be a problem. Thanks for your help.

Hey Leo. The threshold mounting plate on the Lippert SolidStep 4.0 RV Steps item # LC65DX extends 6" past the opening of your RV's doorway. It's only 3/8" tall though. When the steps themselves are folded up and not being used they'll need 10" of space inside the doorway.

The Lippert SolidStep 4.0 RV Steps item # LC65DX are designed for an entry height of 35" to 44" above the ground and fit 26" wide door frames. I recommend measuring the width of your doorway and the height of your door's entryway/threshold to the ground to confirm these will work for your RV.

What does that narrow passageway get used for and do you need to access it with the stairs folded up? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

Jerred, Thank you for your response. However the dimension I am interested in is the lift assist assembly itself. It mounts permanently on the inside floor and wall of the trailer. I can't find a dimension on this but from pictures it appears to be about 6" deep. In particular the dimension for the lift assist cover. that goes alongside the door frame on the inside of the unit. On my trailer this would be across from the bathroom door and close to the bedroom door. If it sticks out from the wall too far it could be a problem as it could be a tripping hazard. Best Regards, Leo Buckon
