Review of Lippert Components RV Stairs and Steps LC432682

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lippert Manual Pull-out double step for RVs. The manually operated pull-out step makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. Simply just pull the step out for use and then position them back into place for travel. When they're in place for travel in the stowed position, they automatically lock into the stowed position. Each step is going to feature a nice non-skid design, so each step is going to have two strips of non-skid tread tape. That's going to provide sure footing so you won't slip as you get into and out of your RV. Then another nice rounded edge design here on the front of the step does a great job at eliminating sharp corners.

Also I want to mention that on each step surface, we're going to have two channels and then at the ends of those channels is going to be two drain holes. These drain holes on each step keeps the dirt and moisture from building up on the step surface and those channels are going to trap it lower than the actual surface of the step area. Where your foot would go is going to be elevated above where all that stuff would be trapped in those channels. That's a nice design of this double step as well. To get it into a stowed position you just grab this step right here. There's a nice, large grab handle underneath.

Keeps your hands away from any moving components or moving parts. There's also another grab handle on the bottom of this one. Tilt up, rotate it back into a stowed position until it engages and stays into place. To extend it out, kind of just repeat or reverse those steps so grab that handle, extend it all the way, grab this handle, flip that down and that's all there is to it. Really nice, easy to use design. The unit's made from a sturdy steal construction.

It gives it a strong and durable design. It's going to feature a black, powder coated finish to protect it from rust and corrosion. It's an easy bolt on or weld on installation. It's going to mount to your RV's frame in the same manner as your original step. For a bolt on application, you will need to use two carriage bolts and lock nuts on each side to attach the mounting bracket to your RV's frame.

That hardware's not included. Also, you'll notice that the side plates have multiple holes on there so if you need to use outriggers for your installation you can do that. Those are sold separately and available here at if needed. A few measurements to go over with you real quick. Starting with the dimensions of just the steps. They're going to give us a width measurement of about 24 inches wide and that's not including the brackets on the side so about 24 inches to 24 and a quarter inches wide. Really nice, large design. Back to front, they're each going to give us a depth of eight and one quarter of an inch deep. When it comes to the mounting base, measuring edge to edge going in this direction. That's going to give us a measurement of about 25 and one quarter inches wide. If I measure the width, you're going to see that it has multiple angles on the base. At the widest point, it's going to measure about 12 inches wide. Here at the top of this angle, we're looking at about eight and three quarters of an inch wide. On this back side it angles again and that's going to give us a measurement of about eight inches wide. When it comes to the height of that side plate, that's going to give us a measurement pretty close to eight and three quarters of and inch tall from bottom to top. When it comes to the mount hole separation, center on center between these holes we're looking at about seven inches. Going across this direction, center on center, that's going to give us a measurement of 24 inches. The last thing we're going to talk about is just the drop and rise. From the top of this step to this step, is going to give us a measurement of about seven inches. From the top of this step to the top of the mounting area. I'm going to put a straight edge on there so we can get an accurate measurement. That's going to give us a measurement of pretty close to six inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Lippert Manual Pull-out double step for RVs.

Your existing hardware can be used as long as it's still in good shape!

I think this is an excellent video description along with measuring points for helping to choose correct fitment needs.
