Question:

Interested in the Brophy 4 step for my camper, when the camper is on the tailgate is down and I was told by Brophy Machine works that I needed a Tailgate Adapter #TSSB so my question is what does this look like and where does it mount, cant find it anywhere and want to be sure before I buy....Thanks

The Brophy Scissor Step Bracket # TSSB will install on the edge of your tailgate. You will have to drill two holes for the L shaped pins. After drilling, all you have to do is simply insert the L pins into those holes and attach you Brophy steps! For permanent installation, use the hardware that comes with your scissor steps and drill holes where the mounting holes are. I am adding a picture that demonstrates how to install using the L pins.

We also carry a few different versions of the Brophy 4 step scissor steps. I recommend either the 24 inch wide # AS24 which can support up to 300 lbs, or the 18 inch wide # AS04 which can support up to 250 lbs. They are both made of aluminum which will resist rust so they will hold up better if it rains.

We do offer a steel version of the 18 inch wide # SS04 which is powder coated to resist corrosion. If you decide to go with this option, I recommend trying to keep the steps dry so that they last longer if that powder coat gets damaged later on.
