Yes, you can swap solid steps for a pull-out step. Measure your bracket spacing and mounting area first. A two-person install helps—extend the steps to the ground to support the weight while you start the bolts.
Install is typically straightforward. Steps can bolt directly in place using the included hardware and clear instructions; some setups use included spacers for a perfect fit. They can be heavy to hold alone, so grab a friend or use a jack. In tight fits you might need to drill new holes. Once mounted, operation takes little effort and they feel sturdy.
