Rubber Equalizers Absorb Road Shock and Reduce Chucking

Rubber Equalizer Vs Standard Equalizer

Hauling a trailer that's still equipped with standard steel equalizers is bound to produce a less-than-ideal towing experience. This is because those standard equalizers allow the road shock from your trailer to transfer directly to your tow vehicle, resulting in a rough, bumpy ride.

In addition, road shock can put added stress on your trailer's frame, suspension, running gear, and more, all of which can lead to increased maintenance time and cost. It can also cause damage to the contents of your trailer due to constant chucking and jerking. And the last thing you want is for your electronics to be tossed around inside your RV before you set up camp, or for your horse to get jostled around as you bring him home from the show.

These rubber equalizers help to solve those problems. When road shock occurs while hauling your trailer, the rubber inserts absorb and dampen the vibration and bounce, resulting in a less bumpy ride. The inserts also absorb the back-and-forth movement to reduce chucking and jerking so that you don't get thrown around inside your cab.

CRE3000 Rubber Insert

Each of these equalizers also offers up to 3" of up-and-down travel. The more travel your suspension has, the better it is able to compensate for road shock. When you hit a pothole, for example, these equalizers allow your suspension to account for that dip on one side so that the opposite wheels aren't forced to compensate. As a result, you'll get a smoother ride, even when you're driving over uneven campground roads or speed bumps.

Easy Installation

These equalizers directly replace your trailer's factory equalizers, so installation is straightforward. Simply remove the shackle links from your factory equalizer and the shoulder bolt from the frame hanger. Remove the factory equalizer and replace it with the MORryde rubber equalizer.

MORryde Shackle Upgrade Kit

You can reuse your existing hardware with these equalizers, but we recommend using MORryde's suspension upgrade kit (sold separately). Factory shackle links wear out pretty quickly and easily, so replacing them with MORryde's thick, heavy-duty shackle links will save you the time and effort of having to frequently replace them. Not to mention you'll get easy-to-grease bolts and long-lasting bronze bushings with the kit for a totally upgraded setup.

Ordered these a few days ago ,arrived as scheduled , was surprised by the ease of installing the MORryde Shock Absorbing Equalizers, along with their shackle upgrade kit. Time will tell!!

by:

Everything arrived quickly and packaged well. I installed this on my 2006 14’ Haulmark cargo trailer. Installation was straightforward. Removing the original hardware was more time consuming than anticipated but overall it was a quick project.

by:

Great improvement over factory equalize rs!

by:

I purchased the MORryde CRF 3000 equalizers for my 2019 Reflection 5th wheel. Installation was easy and within a couple of hours had both of them installed. My wife and I immediately felt a smoother ride going down the street.

by:

During one of our longer trips one of the spring shackles wore through and disengaged. At this time the spring end became pinned against the frame held in place by a aluminum angle iron I installed to hold the underbelly secure. The only thing that kept the suspension from collapsing completely was plates i had welded to close the ends of the spring hangers to prevent the ears from breaking apart. I pulled the trailer several hundred miles until excessive tire wear made me aware of the damage. Ruined a new set of Goodyear Endurance St’s. The MORryde shackles are so much thicker and the wet bolts ease the wear as the replaced spring bolts were showing lots of wear. All this provides peace of mind going down the road.

by:

Thanks you Alyssa J for your help getting these part sent and for your help getting the replacement bolt we needed. The replacement part did arrive and we were able to make the repairs before heading out. Thanks again foryour help on this!

by:

This was a exact replacement for the pair on my 2021 Grand Design Solitude. The suspension on my 5th wheel was totally shot in 2 years!I had to replace all the springs wet bolts and these equalizers. Thanks to etrailer that they carry these parts that are an exact replacement. Thanks to Tammie P who was very helpful in ordering the parts!

It is so great to hear your experience with etrailer was a good one! The kind words are always nice to hear, so I will make sure Tammie sees this, too.

by:

This rating is based solely on etrailer Customer Service...
The item was purchased based on the anticipated date of arrival...it arrived close to a week later. Several phone calls were made to Customer Service, who could not give any information other than the package was on a truck routed to USPS - this went on for a week. When an arrival date is given, it should be closer to the actual date...if we would have known, it would not have been purchased!!!

by:

paul was good to work with and kept me informed every step of the way. Fast shipping and packaged well all parts look as they should, I will be installing them next week. Thanks etrailer.

by:

I did not realize how worn my old one was till
The new parts arrived.

by:

One year after installing and the trailer still rides great, Inspect the suspension before every trip, no issues thus far.

by:

Easy Install, Seems to have improved ride of trailer.Installed on 2023 Grand Design 2500RL

by:

Noticeably difference pulling my GD 337 RLS in a good way. Bushing in old suspension system where shot. Happy with decisions going with moryde

by:

Needed replacement hangers ASAP and was able to get them in ONE DAY! Nobody else I could find had priority shipping and the local RV dealers would have taken weeks to get these parts. Thank you!

by:

Very easy installation Helps that the trailer was brand new. Hardest
part was supporting the trailer safely.
Except product.

by:

Definitely improved the ride quality and handling of my fifth wheel.

by:

E-Trailer provided quick and excellent service. The MoRryde Equalizers were a perfect fit.

by:

They have been installed (on our Grand Design Imagine 2970 RL) for a year now and have been beneficial during this years travel, to Nova Scotia and back to St Louis. The US Interstates have significant construction zones, most notable I-57 in Illinois and the potholes are brutal. Canadian roadways in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are in much better shape, but probably due to volume
of traffic, minimal compared to to US.

One take away from MORryde Equalizers, the realization that additional improvement in axle suspension was needed. The condition of roads, resulting in bottoming out, bounce, hop and travel reinforced that fact.

So I had Sumo Springs installed on both axles as well the rear end of our 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. The combination has been significant improvement in ride, handling and trailing a 34 footer.

by:

I Installed these MORryde equalizers on a two axle trailer along with new 6K 25 1/4" 5 leaf springs and the MORryde Wet Suspension Upgrade kit all from Etrailer. The installation took close to 3 hours doing the install by myself. I use this trailer to haul my Jeep all over Ca, Az, and Utah. The smoothness and quietness of this upgrade is substantial.

by:

Not installed yet,but product looks fine and packaging was very good.

by:

Best addition I could have added. Great product made a world of difference in the ride.
Great product

by:

Great service .

by:

Fast shipping, good experience

by:

Customer Services rep, Jon, and Online Services, George, did an amazing job as advising me on my order and getting it promptly processed and delivered! Thank you guys!

by:

They worked as expected but just not as heavy duty as I thought they would be.

  • Dimensions and Specifications of the MORryde Rubber Equalizers MR27ZR
The MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers item # MR27ZR are designed for Tandem axle trailers with 8,000 lbs axles and 35" axle spacing, so as long as your trailer meets these requirements. These equalizers would be a great option due to the rubber inserts that dampen road shock and offer up to 3" of suspension travel. I have linked a diagram below that will show you the dimensions of this equalizer so you can compare them to the ones currently on your trailer. The item # MR27ZR...

  • Will MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers Add Height to Boat Trailer
The MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers # MR27ZR won't add any height to your trailer as long as it matches the height of your current equalizer. This equalizer measures 8" across and has a height of 3-5/16". See the diagram below showing these measurements. If the equalizers on your boat trailer are 3-5/16" then it will stay the same height. If your current equalizer is taller, adding the # MR27ZR would lower the trailer. If it is less than 3-5/16" adding the upgraded equalizers...

  • How To Measure To Make Sure The MORryde CRE3000 Equalizers Will Fit Your Trailer
I contacted MORryde and this does happen from time to time as the weight of the trailer can spread out the axles due to downward pressure on the springs/suspension. Odds are the 35" wheel base # MR27ZR will be the correct one for you, but they did recommend measuring your frame hanger spread (FHS). This should be done from the center of the front hanger to the center of the rear hanger. I included an image of the measurement table as well, just in case you need it. With that being said,...

  • What Does The 8K Rating Mean For the MORryde Shock Absorbing Equalizer MR27ZR
The 8K you are referring to references the individual capacity of each axle on the tandem axle trailer. So this MORryde Shock Absorbing Equalizer # MR27ZR will work on trailers with axles rated at 8,000 lbs or less. I imagine your 14K trailer would have a pair of 7K rated axles, meaning this equalizer will work well, provided it is sized correctly. There is not necessarily a GVWR for the equalizer itself.

Since your current equalizer has 7-3/4 inches from bolt hole center to bolt hole center the MORryde CRE3000 part # MR27ZR that you referenced would fit and work great. That's the most important dimension for these and since yours is within 1/4 inch this would work.
