Question:

Im wanting to upgrade my equilizers I have a 2021 attitude 5th wheel. I have tandem axles with rating 7k each. The axles are flipped so it raised the rv a little because I have a lifted truck. What are my options?

Hey Raul, thanks for all of the information. What I really need to know though is what equalizers your currently have on your toy hauler or a couple measurements off of them. There's no database available where I can look up this information.

The MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers item # MR27ZR you were looking at are one of our best options. They measure 8" wide from the center of the mounting holes and are 3-1/2" tall. They have a rubber core that absorbs road shock, which reduces vibration, noise, and stress on your trailer's frame.

I linked a diagram below that will show you these measurements. If you could put the dimensions of yours where it says Add Comment, I'll be able to find you the right replacements.

I saw you were looking at the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR46ZR. I highly recommend replacing your suspension bolts when you swap out your equalizers. These are the best ones on the market. They have grease zerks built in for easy maintenance and longevity. The included bronze bushings will last longer than your leaf springs so long as you keep them lubricated.

The item # MR46ZR includes 2-1/4" long shackle straps. You will also want to measure your shackle straps from the center of the mounting holes to make sure you don't change up the geometry of your suspension.

Have you thought about replacing your leaf springs while you've got your suspension taken apart?

I bought this kit and I felt that it was a good value. I have had 3 different spring hangers break and the plastic bushings that were in the eyes were bad every time I took the shackle bolts out to do something on my original setup. I had cracked one of the equalizers also. The problem I have is mine has correct track so feeling confident about my measurements was sketchy for me. If i have a complaint it was that I just didn't feel the documentation was clear on tightening and or torque specs. I found three different variations, and I think in the end I torqued them to 50 foot lbs but they seem oh so tight and I am a paranoid fellow. I believe that the shoulder on the bolt should keep them from being too tight on the spring and I ended up leaving them because in the past I would tighten then back off until I could see movement, but I had kept having issues so I figured maybe the extra movement was causing issues. I would have appreciated a more definite and or clearer instructions. same with the grease holes it said to put them at 3 or 9 o'clock for best results but i had a couple that were stubborn people say they have better luck with 6. But the kit the bolts are already in the straps so if your not happy you will have to drive them out to adjust. They product was good and high quality, I have good luck with the shipping and response from etrailer so happy there. I felt that it made my suspension more robust for sure, but I cracked a hanger again after the install. I think the heavier straps discourage the shackle bolt from turning and brass bushings and wet bolts just increase longevity, but it didn't fix my problem. I have pulled trailers a lot and spent years in a semi so I am not new to the process, and I am sure the twist from turning is causing my issues and I am very careful about how I turn and maneuver. I decide the RV was too heavy for the suspension, but it weighs out in spec, The welds from the factory were poor at best and the correct track makes the hangers a bit longer so the twist is increased. I have been weighing removing the correct track and going to standard hangers but the RV is a 2015 so I am not sure how much I want to spend. My recommendation would be to add the ex-factor brace between the hangers at least on the back axle if you're going to be installing this kit. I think that would help for sure. I ended up welding a V brace inserted in my hangers and haven't had an issue since and probably have pulled 5000 miles since but I still worry. But then me and Muphys law are close buds!!
