E-Z Lube-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Good Job EtrailerI ordered 3 tire and rim packages with a couple of hubs for converting the modile home axle under my trailer to a normal lug hub. Just put them on tonight and hubs and tires spun centrally and were very smooth. The hubs were included in oversize boxes for the tires. The boxes were a little beat and the bearing kits were rubbing on the metal parts inside. Just a little more packageing would have prevented a little wearing on the small parts. Sorry guys, the tape just doesn't keep the parts in place to prevent damage. Good job E-trailer

by:

I am in Honduras but i brought a trailer from Texas. No parts here, but these folks filled my order promptly. Solved our problem!

by:

These hubs are great. I am currently running these with about 100,000 miles on them. Give them a little grease and travel worry free. Ordered a new set as backups. You can’t go wrong with etrailer.com either. Their customer service is among the best I have ever experienced, they will go the extra mile to get you the answers and products you need.

by:

Worked great - attached to spindle welded to hudson bros trailer axle

by:

The hub and bearing combo I ordered came in pretty quick, and was a perfect fit, the races already being pressed in was a big time saver.

by:

Excellent product. Put on offroad trailer. Solid hub

by:

I am very satisfied with axle stubs. I am using on a heavy-duty towable backhoe. Holding up real well.

by:

As usual, eTrailer delivers an excellent product at an excellent price. Service and communication are top notch. They always get my business for all my trailer/towing needs.

  • Can Idler Hub and Over-The-Hub Rotors Be Used to Convert to Hydraulic Brakes on Camper
You can certainly use idler hubs with slip on rotors to convert your 5th wheel camper to hydraulic disc brakes from electric drum brakes. As you noted, the benefit of this is being able to replace the rotors more easily down the road. This is nice if you find yourself in a situation where only either the hub or the rotor has been damaged, and only one of the two components need to be replaced. The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R526D that you referenced is a great choice for your camper. These...

The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 95" Long - 6,000 lbs # 7461121 will use a grease seal is the inner diameter of 2.25 inches. The outer diameter is the 3.376 you mentioned, so for this combination the seal is # 10-63. If you want complete hub assemblies including bearings races and seals needed compatible with that axle, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ which is a confirmed fit and braking assemblies # AKEBRK-7-SA. It sounds like the Timbren Axle-Less Suspenion would be perfect for you as they are available with lift spindles, and the progressive rate AEON main springs do a great job to absorb road shock and offer a smoother ride than leaf spring suspension. The correct system will be dependent on the GVWR of your 1968 Oasis 16' trailer. The most likely options are the 3500lb option with 2" lift spindles # TASR35HDS07 or 4" lift spindles # ASR35HDS02, or the 5200lb option with 2" lift # TASR5200S05...

I did a little research and found that your 2003 Venture Boat trailer model 2250 has a capacity of 2,250 pounds but the 6-lug hubs and bearing information I found indicate that it uses hubs normally seen on 5,200 pound axles. Since you have a boat trailer you might be interested in Kodiak hub # KH42655S which is stainless steel so it won't corrode. It uses inner bearing 25580 and outer bearing 15123. First, thanks for the kind words. We work hard to provide the best online experience in the industry. If the axle you have is a MOBILE home axle and not a motor home axle, then you will have to replace the axle. Mobile home axles are designed for one time use only and should not be reused. As a result of this one time use, there are very few replacement parts available. Now if it is an axle from a motor home then it is most likely a trailer axle and you will not need to replace it.
