Can Idler Hub and Over-The-Hub Rotors Be Used to Convert to Hydraulic Brakes on Camper

Question:
My 2014 Montana High Country 5th wheel axles currently have integral hubs and drums. For the conversion, can I use idler hubs and slip on rotors instead of integral hubs and rotors? Im thinking this may make maintenance easier down the road. Your opinion? The E-Z Lube axles are 5,200 pounds, the hubs have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern and use inner bearing 25580 and outer bearing LM67048. Thanks

You can certainly use idler hubs with slip on rotors to convert your 5th wheel camper to hydraulic disc brakes from electric drum brakes. As you noted, the benefit of this is being able to replace the rotors more easily down the road. This is nice if you find yourself in a situation where only either the hub or the rotor has been damaged, and only one of the two components need to be replaced.
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R526D that you referenced is a great choice for your camper. These rotors and calipers are rated for use with your 5,200 pound axles and have the 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern you need.
For an idler hub that will fit your trailer's axles, you will want to use the Trailer Hub Assembly, 5,200 Pound, 6 on 5-1/2, E-Z Lube # 8-213-5UC1-EZ. This hub is designed for use with your E-Z lube axles, uses the same bearings as your existing hub, and features the 6 on 5-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern. The bearings, grease seal, and grease cap are all included with this replacement hub.
I've attached review videos of both of these components for you.
