Not much to say, they are grease caps

by:

I received these dust caps and most of them are rusted through. I can not sell or use rusted product. Not happy!

You are right. I would be unhappy too. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Great product and excellent service. I would recommend this company and it's product.

by:

Fit perfectly tight but went on

by:

Excellent service and the parts were ship in a timely manner

by:

Still in place, although the trailer hasn't been used much lately.

by:

Fit tight,no leaks, look like the day I put them on. Thanks

by:

I have a 1989 1 Ton Dodge Diesel pickup. My old grease caps were so bent they would not seal. Dodge does not carry them anymore. Dorman after market parts does not have them in this size either. Etrailer is the only place I could find the correct size. The lip of the grease caps I ordered were slightly mushroomed out at the very edge so they would not start into the wheel hub. By correcting that I was able to use these and they work and seal perfectly. Shipping time was minimal and the price was very reasonable. What a relief to get these after finding out that Dodge doesn't even have them anymore.

by:

After measuring my existing part, I called Etrailer and was quickly connected to Nicole. I briefly explained what I needed and she asked me a few questions and made a recommendation and told me what size I needed to order based on my answers. She already knew who I was from her caller ID and she was able to place the parts in my shopping cart for when I got home. I went to the site, shopped for a few more items and I was ready to check out. The caps fit just right and I couldn't be happier with my order.

by:

The grease seals that I received were at a great price and better seals than the original on my 5th wheel trailer. Perfect fit just as described. I received the parts sooner than I expected. The customer service was top notch. I recommend etrailer to anyone needing parts. The product reviews and videos are great!

by:

These have worked out great. My original ones were missing, so when I repacked the wheel bearings, I needed new caps to install. These are well made and should last a long time. I would buy them again.

by:

I had 3 separate orders for this part. There was an honest mistake with one of the 3 shipments but it was acknowledged and corrected the very next day. What was most impressive was the communication from Korren who let me know all the details throughout the orders. Thanks to these efforts we were able to keep a production line up and running so finished product could roll out the door and onto waiting trucks.

by:

The two sets of axle grease covers/caps I'd ordered arrived promptly and fit the axles perfectly. The website was easy to order from and provided good product lines to choose from. The product item videos were of great assistance. Thanks

by:

I am not sure if its the drum (hub) or the center cap but it would not stay on unless I used silicon to "glue" it in. Its a temporary item anyway until I install bearing buddies anyway.

by:

The whole order was perfect. I'm rebuilding the running gear on a1976 3 horse slant then remodeling the whole trailer by converting the trailer into a communications trailer for HF radio for disaster response. Front area will be living quarters. I am in our State Guard as a radio operator and also in county emergency management. This trailer will be my shelter and operating station when deployed to hurricanes and such. Since I'm spending my own funds on this, the good prices on etrailer are greatly appreciated.

by:

Not much to say about grease caps. Order was a breeze and delivery was prompt, so you can call me happy

by:

They're shiny and they fit.
Not much
more one can ask from a new pair of grease caps.

by:

Looked for the grease dust cap at my local auto parts and nobody had anything that would fit. Thanks to etrailer they had what I needed.

by:

2.44" O.D. dust cap used on a thirty five year old Woods rotary cutter. Easy to find on your website by size and very easy to order. Received within 3 days by snail mail. Easier than going to a parts store. Will use etrailer again.
Thanks

by:

Quick service much appreciated. The parts fit perfectly. etrailer came through for me again.

by:

Order arrived ahead of schedule and packaged very well. Communications with sales staff was great, because of such a large order (100 caps) some delay was expected. I was informed of availability and expected shipping date. Thanks for great customer service.

by:

Great products and fast shipping.
I
use my trailer daily and etrailer keeps me rolling !!!!

by:

Just what I ordered fit great fast shipping
I will always check here first for my RV parts.

by:

Could not find match for old rhino mower cups locally. Found these on etrailer and they are perfect fit. Shipping was quick

by:

Proper fit. Put them through 11 hours of use during the second day.

  • Finding a Hub for a Very Old Trailer with 6 Lug Bolt Pattern # 1779 inner and # 2788 Outer Bearings
I did some research and found that the 2,600 lb Hub, # 22834, takes the # 1779 outer bearing and # 2788 inner bearing and would use the # 29031 grease seal. This hub has a 6 bolt on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This sounds like the hub you have, and replacement parts are available. Along with the parts mentioned above you may need grease caps, # RG04-060, and races, # 1729 and # 2729, to complete parts needed to repair one of your existing hubs. When doing my research I found that no other...

For your Nuwa Hitchhiker 5th wheel, I recommend you start with the Kodiak 12" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly - 6 on 5-1/2 # KHR12D. For this assembly you will need the bearing kit # Bearing Kit # BK3-100. For your grease caps you will need # RG04-060 which come in sets. If you have a grease fitting in the end of the spindle then the Grease Cap, 2.44 inch OD Drive In with Plug, item # RG04-080, would be the correct part. These parts are correct only if the 092101 part you mentioned is correct. The correct inner and outer bearing part...

For your trailer the drums you need are # 8-201-5. They're designed to fit bearings # 25580 and # LM67048 with the 2-1/4 inch seal # GS-2250DL. For brakes I recommend # AKEBRK-7-SA. Both the left and right sides are included. They are side specific so you'll want to pay attention to the labels when installing. They're self-adjusting brakes so they'll need to be adjusted when you install them and then never again. The grease cap to fit the hubs is # RG04-080 if you have E-Z lube axles...

For hub 8-201-5 you will need 2.44 inch OD drive in caps. We have several caps available for this size like part # RG04-060, which is a standard cap, or part # RG04-080, which have removable plugs for checking grease or bearings.

For a grease cap you will likely need a 2.44 inch cap as that is the size associated with the hubs that use the bearings you mentioned. If the spindle has a grease fitting at the end use # RG04-080. If the spindles do not have grease fittings use # RG04-060.

You can replace a standard grease seal with one of the Bearing Buddy seals like # BB60002, even if you do not care to use the Bearing Buddy protectors, so long as the seal inner and outer diameters match the dimensions required by your spindle and hub bore. These seals are the double-lip type that can withstand the higher grease pressure inside the hub bore when a Bearing Buddy grease cap is installed but they will provide durable service even if this is not the case. They will also work...

  • Purpose of Grease Caps and How to Measure to Get Correct Size
The purpose of the grease cap is to protect the bearing and the axle from any dirt getting into the bearing, which would then damage the bearing, hub and axle. So it is a good idea to have caps on your axle. To get the correct size cap you would need to measure the inside diameter of the cap mounting surface on your hub. Then that measurement would match up to the cap size outside diameter. The sizes of caps only vary by a small amount so the measurement has to very accurate. Some of the...
