Nice installation tool and needed so you don’t damage the dust cap on your RV.
I ordered several products, and as always, they were delivered in a very timely fashion. I haven't had a chance to use the tools yet, but they are high quality.
Very easy to order. Someone always answer the phone that is very knowledgeable.
Perfect and very sturdy for years to co me.
This is a very well made tool. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I have checked the sizing against a spare 2.44" OD dust cap and it's a perfect fit - just loose enough to not tear up my painted caps but tight enough to put all the force on the flange. The actual depth of the cup is slightly over 1 1/8". A typical 2.44" OD cap is just under 1 1/8".
This tool allows installing the dust cap on the hub without distorting it. And it is made in the USA. I also used it to install the grease seals in my trailer hubs.
This driver will make the chore of installing dust caps, a snap!! Very fast service! I am very happy!

Caps have stayed on and have not used the tool since. Just the way I like it!!
If you have EVER tried to put a new dust cap on a trailer hub, then you know how hard that can be. For small caps, often a large 12 point socket will work but for a 2.44" cap you need this invaluable tool.
A must have if you are working on your trailer hub.
these grease cap tools work great! used on my old Plymouth without distorting the grease cap...put it over grease cap and give it a couple of whacks!..a nice tight fit..the bigger ones will work with most other truck, .suv, van grease caps!..a must tool!! Love um!! a great buy and must have!
perfect tool for putting dust caps on. I've tried putting caps on previously and allways end up banging them up. With this tool they went on straight and still look good when your finished. Simple tool, great price.
The tool worked perfectly without any damage to grease caps. Grease caps fit as they should.
I bought all sizes of this tool. Works great for removal and installation without damaging caps or hubs.
Excellent product - no more denting the dust caps when installing new ones. Purchased two sizes.
great tool! simple idea, but very effective to avoid damage to the hub cover
Great product extremely useful works as stated vital part of my tool kit
The tool fits the dust caps nicely and prevents denting them when installing.
Worked perfect, made installation very easy. No risk of damaging the dust caps.
This product is just what I was looking for. I wish I had it in the past, it would have saved me a a lot of money and aggravation. Shipping was really fast too.

These dust covers are holding up great. etrailer has great Parts at even better prices.
I bought all three sizes. I service a fleet of pickup trailers in the oilfields and after so many hubcaps, you'll look for something to do the job better. Reinstalling an old cap isnt too bad most of the time, new ones are where these tools shine. The majority of new hubcaps will not install easy, without some good heavy persuasion. And its just a sad sight, a bent, bruisied and beat up brand new hubcap. But this tool will make you proud.
I've noticed hammering on hubcaps can lead to them actually falling off down the road (pun). And the other issue is with the cotter pin inside. If the cap is dented badly, it will rub on the cotter pin or grease zerk, if it didn't already break off. Its not easy to cause this but it is possible.
Breakdown of why I bought these:
50% getting so incredibly annoyed that the cap just won't go on and being tempted to use a BFH. 30% because a newly overhauled trailer looked like h-edouble hockey sticks when I got done with it. 20% noticing hammered caps seem to fall off easier, later.
These are extremely well made thus far. I was surprised how nice and heavy they were, no quality skimping here. The cup end is made of a perfect thickness, you could toss this thing around no worries. The shaft is solid or at least thickwalled judging by the weight. And the end is a separate rounded off piece just waiting for the hammer time.
Note, the length I'm not sure on yet. The end sticks out just above the hand when grasping tool. Maybe nice to be an inch longer? Not sure yet.
Other thing I noticed is how close fitting this is. Not a con, but just keep in mind its not gonna be good for installing old beat up caps.
For removing hub caps look into SnapOns GCP10 pliers. Together, these tools are the perfect pair.
I’m a fleet manager with large company the medium tool is the most used in my fleet 65 trailers we check bearings 1 a month on all trailers that’s a lot of caps off and back on with no damage to cap wow what a tool. THANKS ETRAILER.....
