Question:
I am looking to replace brake drums and like the idea of using a BB6002 seals instead of the RG06-050 seals. Is this a good match or do you see any issues?

Expert Reply:
You can replace a standard grease seal with one of the Bearing Buddy seals like # BB60002, even if you do not care to use the Bearing Buddy protectors, so long as the seal inner and outer diameters match the dimensions required by your spindle and hub bore.
These seals are the double-lip type that can withstand the higher grease pressure inside the hub bore when a Bearing Buddy grease cap is installed but they will provide durable service even if this is not the case. They will also work fine if you use a standard grease cap like # RG04-060. The dimensions of this seal are 1.875-inches inner diameter and 2.560-inches outer diameter.
